It seems despite Asuka holding the WWE Smackdown women’s title, WWE doesn’t have a slot or opponent in mind for her yet at WrestleMania 35. Speaking on The Wrestling Observer Radio (via Ringside News) this week, nobody in WWE right now knows what who Asuka will be facing at WrestleMania in April.
Meltzer stated, “Asuka’s not even on the card [at Elimination Chamber] so whatever she’s doing at WrestleMania and nobody knows that right now. Because I mean, people are pitching for that one. Who knows how that’s gonna end up?”
It was previously reported by the WrestleVotes account that WWE has a plan for her at WrestleMania. WrestleVotes wrote, “Been getting a ton of Asuka questions. As far as I know, they do have a plan for Mania. Just wasn’t wise for Asuka to be featured the last few weeks.”
WrestleMania 35 is set for Sunday, April 7. The event will be held at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The event will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.
