Shane McMahon hospitalized with diverticulitis, Likely to miss WrestleMania as a result

WWE.com reported on Monday evening that Shane McMahon remains hospitalized for “acute diverticulitis and an umbilical hernia.”
The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online noted that this was legitimate and not part of the current storyline on Smackdown Live where Shane announced a leave of absence and was then attacked by both Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.
The article notes that McMahon traveled to the Caribbean with his family and developed a “massive infection” where he was hospitalized for several days in Antigua. McMahon was then flown back to New York where he remains hospitalized undergoing treatment.
This leaves McMahon’s status for WrestleMania 34 in two weeks very much in doubt. The likely scenario was that WWE was attempting to setup a tag team match with McMahon teaming with the newly cleared Daniel Bryan against Owens and Zayn after Bryan “fired” them last week on Smackdown Live. It would appear those plans are now off.
Opinionated View- I would never wish anyone to get sick and I hope Shane recovers quickly. But I'm also not sad we are being spared another crappy Shane match.

Report: Rey Mysterio in Alabama this week as part of ongoing negotiations with WWE

Rey Mysterio was in Birmingham, Alabama undergoing testing with doctors as part of his negotiations with WWE according to a report by PWInsider.com.
This report by Mike Johnson would seem to indicate that negotiations between WWE and Mysterio are getting even more serious since his last appearance in the Royal Rumble.
Mysterio suffered a grade one, partially torn left bicep while making an appearance for Northeast Wrestling in Connecticut earlier this month. The injury is believed to have forced Mysterio to pull out of a planned match against Jushin “Thunder” Liger at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Strong Style Evolved live special that airs this Sunday night on AXS TV.

WWE admits to discussions with Hulk Hogan about a possible role with the company

Hulk Hogan has reportedly been in discussions with WWE in recent weeks according to a new report by Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com on Thursday.
WWE issued a statement on Thursday admitting they have had discussions with the WWE Hall of Famer, in what is believed to be some of the first dialogue between both parties since Hogan was released by the company back in July of 2015.
While WWE admitted to the conversations, they reiterated he hasn’t signed a new deal.
“We have had discussions with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan) about how he can help others learn from his mistakes, however, he is not under any contract with WWE.”
WWE has worked hard to separate itself from Hogan after tapes were leaked of Hogan making racially charged comments back in the summer of 2015. In the years to follow, Hogan would remain in the spotlight winning a lawsuit against the website Gawker and being awarded a reported $140 million in damages.
The media had continued to press the possibility of a Hogan return to WWE, although the company was quick remain committed to their decision to part ways with Hogan as recent as this past January in an interview with the Associated Press. Mark Henry told TMZ Sports that Hogan would be welcomed back if he apologized to African American talent.
Whether or not the new discussions would lead to Hogan returning to WWE television in an on-air role or some kind of ambassador role remains to be see
