Two Matches Set for WWE Battleground

The WWE Battleground pay-per-view main event is John Cena vs. Roman Reigns vs. Randy Orton vs. Kane in a Fatal Four-Way match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Bad News Barrett's separated shoulder will keep him out of action for "several months" according to Michael Cole's update during Raw. Thus, he has been stripped of the Intercontinental Championship, and a battle royal will be held to determine the new champion at the Battleground pay-per-view.

Update on the Current Status of Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan stating last night at the WWE Money in the Bank PPV that he may need a second surgery on his neck is said to be the truth according to a report by Mike Johnson. Bryan has not seen strength return in one of his arms since the initial surgery he had on his neck back in May and at times, that arm has seen its strength even weaken from where it was prior to the surgery. Bryan is currently undergoing physical therapy, but if the therapy is not enough and if Bryan needs to undergo a second surgery on his neck, Bryan could be at for at least another 6 months, depending on the procudere he undergoes.

Backstage Details On How Daniel Bryan Is Being Viewed & Whether He Is Still Considered A Main Eventer

PWInsider.com (via WrestleZone) reports that the feeling backstage amongst the wrestlers is that WWE officials are not in any hurry to bring Daniel Bryan back into the main event scene when he returns, noting that top level guys like John Cena and Triple H would never be brought back just to appear on a PPV pre-show (WWE announced last week that Bryan would return at Money in the Bank as part of the pre-show).

Some WWE officials apparently believe that Bryan's bubble has popped and that he got injured when WWE needed him the most. This has made some officials hesitant to throw him back in the main event scene when he returns. Many point to the fact that Bryan was originally scheduled to face Sheamus at WrestleMania and only was pushed because CM Punk quit.

Opinionated View- So its Bryan's fault WWE is stupid enough to book his return like this? If he said no the reports would be "Bryan isn't a company man." If the bubble has burst its because the WWE has done all they could do to get it to burst.

Update on Reby Sky and TNA

Even though Reby Sky was backstage with Matt Hardy for this week's Impact tapings in New York City, TNA had no plans to use her on those shows. They also don't have any plans to use her in the future.

Opinionated View- Reby isn't awful but if TNA is looking to add to the Knockouts there are better names out there like Jessica Havok or Veda Scott or brining back Cheerleader Melissa.

Kim Mo Returning to TNA

- King Mo has been training in Las Vegas with Kenny King and he will be on TNA TV a lot more this summer. Mo appeared at the TNA New York City tapings.

Opinionated View- Problem is a lot of  luster has come off Mo in the MMA world he's been a win one lose one fighter in Bellator. I also don't know how many non MMA fans will remember who he is given he hasn't been on TNA in over a year. Add into that both Rampage and Tito Ortiz also signed with TNA tang some of the spark out of the full-time MMA fighter and full time wrestler.

Don't get me wrong Mo has potential but TNA is going to have work on this.

Undertaker Telling Friends It's Not Looking Good For Wrestlemania 31

The Undertaker is still said to be banged up from the concussion he received during his match with Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 30. Even though he's been working out, he has told those close to him that it's "not looking good" for Wrestlemania 31.

He's said to be in bad shape after his injury and his status for the event is unknown. A decision on whether or not he will compete won't be made until the end of the year at the earliest.

Opinionated View- Well the Undertaker hasn't looked good in years! He does not belong in a wrestling ring. And don't talk about how sad it will be if he's not at Mania there was WrestleMania before him there have Mania's he's missed and the guy has been more of them than nay other wrestler. He's had his day in the sun time to let other people take over.

Reasoning Behind Daniel Bryan's Pre-Show Appearance for WWE Money in the Bank

The Money in the Bank pre-show will feature Daniel Bryan as a hook to get viewers to subscribe to the WWE Network or buy the PPV while watching the pre-show on WWE.com or Facebook. WWE reportedly sees Bryan as a Superstar who can sell PPV events and possibly set up an angle for later in the night.

News and Notes Form TNA's Final Night in NYC

TNA legitimately sold out the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center on Friday 6/27 with 1,200 fans in attendance. This was the show that sold out first out of the trio, based on the advertising that the Hardys would be reuniting.

TNA must not have been happy about video clips from the first two days of taping getting out, as security was in full force stopping any fans they believed were shooting video at the show.

In an update on the Friday attendance, a source at the venue stated today it was in the 900 range.

That would mean TNA drew about 3,300-3,400 fans over the three days. There was a feeling backstage that the crowd was partially a different set of fans every night as there were performers getting "welcome back" chants on the second and third nights when they had obviously been appearing all week at the venue.

Tommy Dreamer was backstage at the third taping working as an agent but did not appear before the crowd.

After the show, Al Snow was ribbed when Devon took the house mic and asked that everyone sing for his birthday. It wasn't Snow's birthday. I was told this was an ongoing rib from Devon on Snow today.

Morale remained up after the third taping as the NYC crowd remained hot for most of the matches on the show.

Backstage visiting at the show were Prince Nana, Steve Mack and the former Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz, KC Blade and the now retired EC Negro.

Mistress Belmont from NECW and other New England independent groups also received a tryout yesterday before the show.

Professional bodybuilder Kai Greene was at the taping on Thursday.

A number of fans with House of Hardcore ticket stubs received private meet and greets with Bully Ray after each night of the tapings this week as his way to make good from being pulled from the HOH events earlier this month. I was told that 50 fans total also received the meet and greet at the TNA tapings in Bethlehem, PA a few weeks back.

Spoilers: Injury Update From TNA Tapings In New York

TNA President Dixie Carter was not at the third and final TNA Impact Wrestling taping in New York City. Those who asked where she was were told she was legitimately hurt taking her bump through a table courtesy of Bully Ray the night before.
One source I've spoken to claimed that Carter was pretty banged up, even though Bully Ray did everything humanely possible to protect her. Ray gave Carter a sit-down powerbomb through the table, similar to the spot he did with Mae Young years ago in WWE.
While Carter was protected, she is obviously not a trained wrestler. One wrestler said to me, "If you aren't calloused to it, even one bump is going to feel like a car wreck. Of course she got hurt. That was the first bump she ever took in her life."
Stories floating backstage included that Carter, 49, suffered a concussion and/or aggravated an already existing back issue. I can tell you that there are multiple sources within the company that have told me it was a legitimate injury for her, but there are also some who think it's just a work to sell the injury. Obviously, that is possible.
It should be noted that we've heard from several in the company that were impressed that Carter, literally, put her life on the line, for the company by seeing the storyline through and taking the bump.
We will see how this shakes out in the days ahead, but I was told that either way, the plan was that the bump would close out Carter's current storyline. She was stretchered out of the ringafter taking the bump.

June 27th WWE Smackdown Report

We start off with a video package showing Daniel Bryan’s comments about how hard the path to becoming the WWE Champion was and he talks about how he needs neck surgery. We go to the announcement by Stephanie McMahon stripping Daniel of the WWE Championship and the announcement of the ladder match to determine the new WWE Champion.
We are in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and your announcers are Michael ‘Parker’ Cole and John ‘Stevens’ Layfield.
Triple H, Seth Rollins, and Randy Orton are in the ring. Hunter welcomes everyone to Smackdown. He says in this business, people sometimes refer to things in eras. There is the Golden Era, the Rock and Wrestling Era, the Attitude Era, the Ruthless Aggression Era. He has heard this era referred to the Reality Era, but he feels that it will be called The Authority Era. The Authority is constantly making history.
At Money in the Bank, history will be made. For the first time ever, eight men will participate in a ladder match. Hunter guarantees that we will crown a brand new WWE Champion. That man will be the brand new face of the WWE. At Money in the Bank, you get much more. You also get a traditional Money in the Bank Contract Ladder Match in which one man will climb the ladder to retrieve a contract that will allow him to make his own opportunities.
Hunter says that you will be looking at a really solid group. The new WWE Champion and new face of WWE will be none other than Randy Orton. Standing by his side, with a briefcase and contract in hand allowing him a championship match anywhere, any place, any time, will be Seth Rollins.
Whether you like it or not, that is what is best for business.
Randy says that Hunter is right that this is what is best for business. Randy says that he will climb the ladder and not only be the Viper or Apex Predator, he will be the WWE Champion and Face of the WWE.
Seth Rollins says that on Sunday he will climb the ladder and defeat six other Superstars, including Dean Ambrose. He will secure a contract that will guarantee him a WWE Title match, any time and anywhere.
In case things don’t work out, they always have a Plan B.
Orton wants to know what is going to go wrong.
Seth says it is not unthinkable that Orton might not get the job done.
Orton says that without the Shield guys behind, it is not unthinkable that he will kick Seth’s ass.
Hunter says that there might be some trust issues. Hunter asks them why should they trust each other. It is because Hunter trusts them. The reality is that there is one constant in this whole equation. That is The Authority. It is him and Stephanie. That will not change.
They can either survive against the Authority or you can thrive the Authority. While trust might be a bitter taste in your mouth, adapt or perish.
Hunter says that this is the future and the present. This is best for business.
Hunter says that he will move along. Where you see Seth Rollins lately, you see Dean Ambrose. You will see Dean Ambrose shortly. That is the good news. Unfortunately, he’s got some bad news.
