Flashback Review ROH Chicago Spectacular Night 2

The first night of ROH's two night stand in the windy city was a good effort but it did really flow like they needed it to. The second night was off to a bad start before it even began. Matt Sydal was hurt on night one and that took the tag title match off the show. Instead Daniels would team with Matt Cross in a non title match. And I don't know for sure but feels like that promoted booker Gabe Sapolsky to change up the card as things set up on night one didn't happen. As  said in my review for night one this weekend was meant to tie up several long time story lines and launch new ones. Lets see if the show can truly be spectacular.

We open with Shane Hagadorn parsing his mentor's Adam Pearce promo from the night before. Well I gotta agree with Shane on that one. Pearce says tonight is the night he humbles Homicide and swear to Mr. Cornette he will honor him. Pearce than asks Hagadorn about Pelle Preimeau wanting a shot a Hagadorn. Hagadorn says he's been beating Pelle up for two years and it will always end the same. Good promo by Pearce not as good as the nigh before but I don't think he was going for it again. You can see the promise in Hagadorn and it's not shocking that he would go onto become a really good heel manager in ROH working with acts like the American Wolves and The Kings of Wrestling. We than cut to Shingo who speaking Japanese. Lacey comes up to him and tells Shingo if he hurts Colt Cabana she will pay him money. Now I don't know if again booking plans changed later in the day or something but Shingo and Cabana's onto on match was scrapped and both were put in the main event making it an eight man tag. So I have to wonder why include this since you really can't push a bounty story in a match like that and what happened to Brent Albright for night two? Maybe he got hurt as well or was already set for something else but Shingo wasn't a part of the story with Cabana/Whitmer vs Jacobs and Lacey. Albright would be.

Colt Cabana makes his way to the ring walking gingerly after taking a spiked heel to the balls the night before. Cabana gets a microphone and asks "how you doin'? Cabana calls a Jacobs pussy whipped. And talks about taking the heel to the junk. Colt jokes about his sexual actively still be ok. Colt admit his match with Shingo isn't on his mind and calls out Jimmy Jacobs.  Jacobs comes out with Lacey telling him to get him. Colt and Jimmy brawl exchanging punches. Lacey comes hits Colt low. Dazie Haze out and hits a thez press on Lacey. Heat punch and than  drop kick to the head on Lacey by Haze. Jacobs stalks Haze into a corner. BJ Whitmer runs out and host after Jacobs. Bryan Danielson, Jimmy Rave, and Shingo come out and attack Cabana and Whitmer. Delirious and Nigel McGuiness come out to even the odds. The faces are left standing in the ring as the heels bail out. Cabana gets the microphone again and changes the advertised six man tag to an eight man elimination match. We also show how Jimmy Jacobs has cut over the eye. Cabana wants two start the match right now but Danielson pulls him team back saying they will take them later. Excuse me waiter there seems to be some WWE Raw in my ROH! That's what this came off as something you could see on Raw. Even down to setting up the main event for the show after its started and the wrestlers suddenly having booking power.

Tank Toland vs Ace Steel- For the life of me I can't figure out why ROH didn't do more with either of these guys at different points. Both were really good talents that could have solid matches with just about anyone. Don't get me wrong both guys were feared but I would rather see Tank or Ace on DVD's than the Briscoe Brothers or Necro Butcher. Lock up and Toland pushes Steel off. Another lock up and a go behind by Steel reversed by Toland. Drop toe hold by Steel. Waste lock by Toland arm drag by Steel. Head lock by Steel. Toland with forearms with the back. Collision on a shoulder block and neither guy goes down. Headlock by Toland. Hip toss by Steel but up kick by Toland. Side headlock takeover by Toland but Steel gets a head scissors. Headlock take over by Steel and a head scissors by Toland. Steel turn it into  pin. Toland powers out of it. Backslide by Toland gets two. Sunset flip Steel gets two. Exchange of forearms. Exchange of chops. Hard forearm by Steel knocks Toland back. Kick to the gut by Toland and a power slam. Running kick to the face by Toland. Elbow drop by Toland and a cover for two. Clothesline by Toland a knee drop. Steel fires bad with chops and forearms. Running knee by Toland. Toland goes for a spear but leapfrogs over it and hits a neck breaker. Running corner dropkick by Steel. Spring board knee drop by Steel than a top rope senton gets two for Crazy Ace. Firemen's carry after a boot by Toland. Both men are down. Gut wrench into a DDT by Toland gets two when Ace gets the ropes. Spine buster by Steel into a horse collar. Toland gets free. Steel back to the top rope. Toland cuts him off. Superplex is blocked and Steel snaps Toland throat on the top rope. Steel goes for something with a  spring board but TOland gets him in the firemen carry. Steel gets the small package for the win. Very basic match but an ok opener.

Backstage ROH tag team champions Matt Sydal and Christopher Daniels are with there valet Alison Danger. Daniels says tonight was going to be a momentous occasion. Daniels says accident happens and last night Sydal got hurt. Sydal cockily says a star athlete needs his body at 100% to do everything. Sydal brags about reversing the KRS 1 to win the belts and says he needs to protect the investment. Daniels and Danger don't know what to say. Daniels brings in Matt Cross and puts over Cross. Daniels asks Cross to step it up one more time and team with him. Cross says he's been  eating for an opportunity like this. Sydal wishes the kid good luck. Sydal gimmick had become that of a cock young upstart and he did ok with it. I don't think he ever really got down. I think the long term plan was for him and Daniels to feud but they never pulled the trigger on it after dropping the tag belts.

Six Man Mayhem Trik Davis vs CJ Otis vs Pelle Preimeau vs Jake Crist vs Dave Crist vs Kikutaro- Otis and Davis had both worked in the mid west and were getting a look on this show since ROH didn't have to fly them in. I think Pelle, the Airborne and Kikutaro had a grand total of four wins between them. Dave Crist and Kikutaro start us off. Wrist lock by Dave. Kikutaro revers it to a hammer lock. Dave revers back to the wrist lock. Kikutaro asks is Dave gives up drawing a laugh. Arm drag by Crist than an arm drag.  Flying arm drag again by Dave. Dave misses a drop kick. Kikutaro use the turn buckles to hold Dave upside down and kicks him a few times. Kick to the legs by Kikutaro. Weak chops by Kikutaro. Knee drop by Kikutaro how pretending to be Ric Flair. Kikutaro to the top rope and he is bodily slammed off it by Dave Crist. You know it's sad that Kikutaro's Ric Flair impression is better than the real Ric Flair has been in years outside of a few hardcore matches Flair's been in. Jake Crist tags in as does Pelle Preimeau. Lock up and head lock takedown by Jake. Head scissors by Pelle. Jake escape into a headlock. Shoulder block by Jake Crist. Rana by Pelle sends Jake Crist to the floor. CJ Otis in and he levels Pelle with a forearm. Trick Davis in and he gets an arm ringer o CJ. Otis with a belly to belly suplex gets one. Head lock by Otis. Trick gets free and gets a fire men's carry into  pin for two. Hard slaps and a roaring elbow by Otis and Davis goes to the floor. The Irish Airborne wind they hits a double team spin buster on Otis. Spring board drop kick by Dave. Otis to the floor. DOuble dives by the Crist brother take out Otis and Davis. Pelle and Kikutaro into the ring. Kikutaro and Pelle agree to work together so Kikutaro picks up Pelle and military press slams him over the ropes taking out the other four men. Kikutaro teases a dive The Airborne see it comes and duck so Kikutaro chops them both in the back. Davis back in the ring. Flying head scissors by Davis than double knees int he corner on Kikutaro.  Kikutaro runs into the boot not once not twice but three times. Changing his game plan Kikutaro tries to whip referee Todd Sinclair into Davis but first he had to stomp on the ref's foot. Davis gets crushed by Sinclair. Kikutaro again runs into the boot. Drop toe hold by Kikutaro and than a shinning wizard gets two. Kikutaro gets the hand and starts to walk the top rope but he slips and crotches himself. Davis covers and gets two. Kikutaro rolls to the floor. In comes Jake Crist. Butterfly lock by Davis broken up by Dave Crist. Power bomb lung blower combo by The Crist Brothers.Pelle jumps in and goes after Dave. Stunner by Pelle. Otis in  hits a release German on Pelle. Jake Crist in  and take leaping forearm by Otis. Jake blocks a gut wrench suplex. Irish Air raid by the Airborne. Jake covers and gets the win with brother Dave standing guard. I have a feeling Gabe had something planed for the Airborne and the tis why Jake got this win but he never really did. As I said they are a great team and should have gotten something more. Good match. Kikutaro is one of those guys that can do comedy right so anything he touches turns gold.

Shane Hagadorn makes his way out holding his Top of the Class trophy. Pelle is still trying to pull himself up. Hagadorn talks Pelle's challenge from the night before. Hagadorn recaps his past wins over Pelle they were all clean. Hagandorn agrees to give Pelle another shot and than Adam Pearce comes out and jumps Pelle. Spiked pile driver by Pearce and Hagadorn. Pearce declares the strap is in the ring and calls out the punk Homicide out. Homicide's music hits and the Notorious 187 comes out. Pearce shoves Hagadorn into Homicide and bales out leading to the next match. Its an ok little segment but the top of the class trophy is one of those things i doubt even the most hardcore ROH fans cares about given it was mostly used in dark matches.

Homicide vs Shane Hagadorn with Adam Pearce- Back body drop by Homicide than a running corner clothesline and a running seated dropkick in the corner. Todd Sinclair comes out and rings the bell making the match official. Chops by Homicide than a kick to the spine. Upper cut by Homicide than a sloppy looking move. I think it was supposed to be a over head belly to belly and Hagadorn jumped to soon. Homicide pulls out his Ghettoe fork by this gives Hagandorn a chance to nail him in the back. Running back elbow by Hagadorn. Clothesline by Hagadorn gets two. Hagadorn goes for a low blow by Homicide blocks it and hits the Gringo Cutter. Cop Killer by Homicide for the win. Pearce umps in the ring and they trade punches. Pearce bails out when Homicide get the advantage. Homicide has Pearce's strap and gets a microphone. Homicide says he is sick of getting jumped by Pearce his "little bitch." Homicide says he doesn't want a strap match and changes there match to a cage match. The match was a squash match nothing more nothing less. It was fine outside of the one awkward spot. I dislike changing the stipulation on the Pearce vs Homicide match. It really takes away from the great promo Pearce had the night before.

Mark Briscoe vs Samoa Joe- These two had a long history dating back to Joe's title reign. It had recently  flared up again with Joe adding Homicide vs The Briscoes. Double leg by Mark and I think he is going for a ankle pick but he's got it int he wrong spot and it looks more like he trying to twist Joe's foot around. Joe escape. Lock up and and they back into the corner. Joe acts like he will break clean but than punches Briscoe in the face. Lock up again and Mark gets a wrist lock and goes to a arm bear than a from face lock. Joe escape and gets a hammer lock and tears at the noise. Joe breaks. Lock up and Mark drives Joe back and hits some awful looking shoulders into the stomach. I don't know how you screw up a move like that but Mark Briscoe found a way. Attempts a back body drop andy the both fall over rough. I'm going to blame Mark and say he was to low well because it's Mark Briscoe who is more likely to botch Joe or Mark. Snap suplex by Mark Briscoe gets one. Briscoes use the ropes to choke Joe. Running corner clothesline by Briscoe than some awful looking punches. ST JOE by Samoa Joe. Series of punches by Joe the a running corner forearm and flip kick combo by Joe. Again we have to remember for anyone that move is cool but for Joe its amazing given how big he is. Face wash by Samoa Joe. Big running kick to the face by Joe to cap it off. Joe covers and gets two. Snap power slam by Joe gets two. Abdominal stretch by Joe and hie picks up the leg for extra leverage. And Mark can't even be in a hold right as he's making strange sounds. I get reaction verbally to pain but it sounds Mark is making monkey sounds. Round hose kick to the body by Joe and Briscoe rolls to the floor. Joe lets Briscoes get back in the ring. Awful looking punches by Mark and even worse Joe sells them. Yurnagi suplex by Mark Briscoe. Leg lariat by Mark Briscoe. Spring board slash by Mark Briscoe and he has does a freaking rooster call. I know other guys call out things during a match but not farm animals. Could you see AJ Styles, Davey Richards, Austin Aries, Daniel Bryan, or anyone else doing farm calls in a match? Mark covers and gets two. Weak looking slaps and forearms by Bricoes . Joe first back and ducks an enziquri. Lariat by Joe gets two. Briscoes with a sunset flip to escape a power bomb gets two. STF by Joe. Mark gets the ropes. Briscoes ducks a lariat and hits back drop suplex than a spring board double stomp gets two. Mounted corner punches by Briscoe. Joe sits him on the top ropes and hits an enziquri. Muscle buster by Samoa Joe. Joe pulls Briscoe up and scream NOAH! Before hitting a big lariat for the win. Even Samoa Joe can't get a good match out of Mark Briscoe. This match is a show case for everything wrong about the guy. He's sloppy he's a spot monkey he's goofy and he can't even do basic moves right. Its not shock that Mark and his broth rare the only act that ROH has pushed this much to never get a deal else where.

Post match Joe gets a microphone and says that was he message to Pro Wrestling NOAH. Joe says he previous challenge hasn't been answered. Joe says Ring of Honor is right here and he's here with it come get some. Big ROH chant from the fans. NOAH regular Nigel McGuinness comes out to the ring. Nigel had change his promo style to speak real soft but the problem is it makes everything hard to understand. I think he asks what Joe's problem is? And he says Joe got his ass kicked in Pro Wrestling Zero 1. Nigel says he's proud of being a member of both NOAH and ROH. Nigel challenges Joe to face him. Joe takes the microphone and agree to a match at some point. The Joe vs NOAH feud had potential. There was that little bit of realty you twist to make an hot issue. I have also heard the plan was for Joe to win the world title early 2007 and drop it to Nigel but that could just be speculation. But the NOAH feud becomes one the what if's in the wrestling business. Joe only had a handful of appearances left in ROH.

Austin Aries and Roderick Strong vs Matt Cross and Christopher Daniels with Alison Danger and Matt Sydal- With Sydal injured this is now a non title match. Strong and Sydal start us off. Jockeying for position and Strong gets Daniels into the corner and hits some shoulders into the gut. Strong goes for the big chop but misses. Lock up and Daniels drives Strong back into the corn and hits some shoulder. Daniels goes for a chop but Strong ducks. Daniels ducks the strong chop and gets a head lock. Shoulder block by Daniels. Daniels goes for a leap frog but Daniels stomps himself and hits a big chop witch actually draw a big pop since they are actually built up to it.  More chops by Strong.  But Daniels with a kick to the shoulder and than an arm drag into the arm bar. Another arm drag into the arm bar by Daniels. Strong powers Daniels into the corner and makes the tag to Aries. Shoulder to the stomach by Aries. Chop by Aries than a head lock.  Shoulder tackle by Aries. Aries blocks the Daniels hip toss. Drop toe hold by Daniels into the head lock. Aries rolls for a pin and gets a one count. Daniels keeps the head lock on. Head scissors by Aries. Head stand escape by Daniels into the front chancery. Headstand escape by Aries into a seated dropkick. Leg Lariat by Daniels and tag to Cross. Clubs and chops by Cross. Aries and Cross fly around the ring each one missing moves. Finally Aries hits a running lariat and puts Cross down. Tag to Strong. Stiff chop by Strong than a fore am to the back. Both men got for drop kick but it's Cross that "gets the worse of it." More chops by Strong. Firemen's neck breaker by Cross and than eh rams Strong into Daniels boot. Tag to Daniels by Cross. Drop-kick by Daniels. Than a tag back to Cross. Double team suplex by Cross and Daniels. Leg lariat by Cross gets two. Tag back to Daniels. Power slam by Daniel than  Arabian press gets two. Tag to Cross. Chops by Cross and forearms. Strong fires back. Knee to the gut by Strong. . Flying head scissors by Cross sends Strong to the floor. Fake out on the suicide dive by Cross. Aries into the ring and goes after Cross. Aries charges but Cross ducks and pulls down the ropes sending Aries to the floor. Cross foes for a rana like move on Aries but Aries blocks it. Double team toss into the guard rail by Aries and Strong. Over hand cups not eh floor by Aries than he tosses Cross into the ring. Strong covers and gets two. Mid section first fall away slam by Strong.  Tag to Aries who comes in with a sling shot senton and than  running elbow drop that gets two. Knee to the back into a chin lock by Aries. Short arm clotheslines by Aries. Tag to Strong. Strong ties up the legs and head in a move. Daniels comes in and brakes it up. Tag to Aries. Catapult into the forearm than the sling shot elbow by Aries onto Strong gets two.  Aries bullies Cross into the corner and makes another tag to Strong.Sling shot suplex by Strong gets two when Daniels brakes up the pin. Tag to Aries.

Double team atomic drop into a double team side slam by Aries and Strong gets two. Tag to Strong. Strong atomic drops cross into the turn buckle. Release German by Strong but Cross lands on his feet. Enziquri by Strong. Tag to Aries and tag to Daniels. House of fire by Daniels and a back body drop by Aries than an STO. Death valley driver for Strong who rolls to the floor. Enziquri by Daniels to Aries gets two. Arabian press to the floor by Daniels takes out Strong. Daniels back up to the apron but gets knocked off by an Aries forearm. Suicide dive by Aries drives Daniels into the guard rail. Cross to the top rope. Aries cuts him off and they fight on the turn buckles. Head butts by Cross and than he shoves Aries back to the floor. Shooting star press to the floor by Cross takes everyone out. ANd unlike the times I've seen Mark Briscoe do that move Cross' SSP looked great and he landed right. Daniels tosses Aries into the ring. Blue thunder bomb by Daniels gets two. Tag to Cross. Suplex cross body combo by Daniels and Cross gets two. Attempt at a double team back drop but Aries lands on his feet. Tag to Strong. Sling shot double clotheslines by Strong. Gut Buster by Strong than the Gibson Driver on Cross. Daniels breaks up the pin. Daniels fight off Aries and Strong but misses a stinger splash on Strong. Running corner dropkick by Aries who than whips Daniels right into Strong Sick Kick. Daniels rolls to the floor. Strong has Cross set up for the power bomb missile dropkick power bomb. Cross fall back and avoids the drop-kick. Rana by Cross on Strong gets two. DDTy on Strong but Aries breaks up the pin. Cross escape the brain buster.Spine buster by Strong and Aries goes for the 450. Daniels back in the ring and hits a palm strike on Aries and goes for the Super Angels Wings. Strong makes the save. 450 by Aries on Cross for the win. I'm a little confused by the end there did Daniels gets confused thinking the match had more time. Other wise it's a pretty good match a great chance to Cross to show he could hang with the top talent in ROH.. Post match Aries and Sydal have words. Than Aries and Daniels have words. Seems kind of weird knowing where this eventually goes. You would think they would have Strong maybe show more personality… Oh waits Roderick Strong.

Intermission times Dave Prazak is with Jimmy Jacobs. The cut from earlier has stopped bleeding but Jimmy hasn't cleaned up so the good has dried all one this face. DP asks about the cut. Lacey interrupts and tells Jimmy she doesn't care if he's hurt he needs to put out Cabana and Whitmer. Jacobs agrees. Jimmy says Whitmer has done more bodily harm on him than one man should have to endure. Jacobs says the blood comes from the soul and says Cabana has done more damage to his heart than anyone man should endure. Jacobs says he will wear the blood from here on out. Its a good promo by Jacobs. And having the dried blood adds a real effect.

Steel Cage Match Adam Pearce vs Homicide- Pearce is the last man standing that had joined up with Cornette. So Homicide is trying to take him out before Final Battle. I again have to state my dislike of setting up for a strap match and than changing it to a cage match. It be like WWE announcing a ladder match and than changing it to a tables match last second. Big next world champ from the fans. They refused to shake hands before the match. Pin, submission, knockout or escape rules to win. Exchange of inches to start and Homicide goes to ram Pearce's head into the cage. Pearce blocks it and goes to ram Homicide into it. Homicide blocks it. Pearce goest the eyes. Homicide tries again and again Pearce blocks it. Avalanche splash by Pearce int he corner. Running corner clothesline by Homicide. Homicide tries again to ram Pearce but again its blocked. You killing the spot guys. I hate that logic hit one move try to ram over and over and over again. Ventricle suplex by Pearce gets two. Three amigos by Homicide. Homicide goes looking for his fork but can't find it. Hip toss by Homicide and he again want his fork.  A fan tosses a fork in the ring. Homicide goes to get it but. The referee toes its back out of the ring. Awful looking short arm clothesline by Pearce. Running knee lift by Pearce. Hagadorn runs out and opens the door and tosses the leather strap to Pearce. In a funny moment the strap actually hits Pearce in the face. Homicide goes after Hagadorn but this lets Pearce nail him in the back. Knee to the gut by Homicide who than turns around and gets the cage door slammed into his face by Hagadorn. Homicide is busted open. Pearce stars to toss Homicide into the cage and than punches and bites the cut. Homicide fires back and gets a sleeper locked in. The referee checks the arm but of course this doesn't end the match Pearce than refers way to quick and hits a back drop suplex. One second he's about go out than he's right up to hits a major move. Pearce goes for the pile driver. Takedown by Homicide. Catapult into the cage by Homicide. Homicide picks up the strap and wraps it around his first and punches. Pearce is busted open. Pearce launched into the cage wall and than again. Homicide grates the face of Pearce on the cage. Pearce pokes Homicide in the eyes. Pearce start to climbs the cage to escape Homicide follow him up and they fight on the top rope.  Homicide goes to the eyes and Pearce gets crotched. Homicide covers and gets two. Head but by Pearce than big right hands. The referee gets nailed on the back swing for the punch. Low blow by Homicide who than pulls the fork out of the referee's pants. Wait I'm confused how did there referee get a hold of it and how did Homicide know he had it?

Stab to the head by Homicide who than digs it into Pearce's head. Low blow by Pearce and than a running power bomb into the cage. Snap suplex by Pearce. Pearce has the fork. Stab to the head by Pearce than its dug into his head. Pearce covers and gets two. Pearce starts to club up the cage. Homicide follow him up and head butts him. Poke to the eye by Pearce than hip toss than sends both men crashing to the mat. Pearce covers and gets two. Pearce sits Homicide not he top turnbuckle. Swinging DDT by Homicide gets two. Ace crusher is blocked. Pearce with a spine buster that gets two. Figure four leg lock by Pearce. We get a couple of near falls with Homicide laying back on the mat. Homicide turns the hold over but Pearce turns it right back over.More turning of the hold over  and over. Problem is by doing it like this rapid fire you kill the spot again. A reverse on a hold like this needs drama. Finally Pearce breaks the hold. Superplex by Homicide gets two. Homicide pulls off the elbow pad. Homicide goes for a lariat. Pearce grabs him and tosses him face first into the cage. Both men are down. Pearce to the top ropes but Homicide had  strap and whips him.  Ace crusher off the top by Homicide than than lariat to the back of t he head one to the face for the win. Really a let down of a match given how talented these two guys are. I think changing it last second to a cage match hurt it. Also I don't get why Pearce never worked over the shoulder given the storyline from the night before. To try and do something different they had the camera man int he cage with them shooting the action problem is I felt like it took away from the aura of the cage. FInally it just seemed like this match never got out of first gear. I didn't see it as a match with two men trying eliminate each other for various reasons.

Jay Briscoe vs Davey Richards- A lot of people claim Jay is the "more talented" of the Briscoe Brothers. I say he still sucks he's just not as bad as the toothless idiot. These two had been feuding for months with Davey teaming with various partners even his mentor KENTA but never getting revenge for the various attacks on him. Shoving match to start than an exchange of fore ams. Big shoulder tackle by Richards. Awful looking head scissors takedown by Briscoe than a leg lariat. Richards to the floor. Briscoes goes for piscaod but misses and hits the guar rail. Round house kicks by Richards than he whips Briscoe into the guard rail and nails Yakuza kick send Jay over the guard rail. Birsoce whipped into the guard rail on the other side and I think this is a first the guy tries to do the land back first spot but actually winds up driving his own head into the guard rail. Davey sends Briscoe back into the ring  and hits a beautiful looking cross body. Power slam by Richards than the leg drop. Chin lock by Richards. Briscoe gets the ropes. Cravat by Richards than he rolls into a takedown. Knees to the face by Richards than a running kick to the face of the seated Briscoe get stow. Head scissors by Richards. Briscoe gets the ropes. Nice looking kicks to the chest by Richards drive Jay into the corner.  Davey runs into a elbow than takes a clothes. Weak looking stretch plum by Briscoe. Maybe he feels bad for Cena and his awful STF so he does that hold to show it could be worse. Dave gets the ropes. The ref does that annoying count get to four demand the hold be broke and than just break by putting his hands on the guy thing. Why not just DQ the person. Awful looking uppercut by Jay than he stands on the throat of Richards. Forearms by Richards but than runs into a knee to the midsection. Dropkick by Briscoe. Snap suplex by Briscoe into a chin lock. The referee checks the arm but Richards isn't out. Richards fights back to the stand position but than runs into elbow. Richards suplex Briscoes over the top rope to the floor. Both men are down on the food. Sadly Jay being an idiot I think lets go to soon. Back in the ring Richards rams Jay int the buckle and hits a spring board missile dropkick. Kick combo by Richards. German suplex is blocked but the Saito Suplex isn't. German with a bridge by Richards gets two. DR Driver is blocked. Amazing looking Head scissors take over by Richards. Death Valley Driver by Briscoe gets two. Alarm clock by Richards than a hammer lock Suplex. Richards is bleeding out of the noise. Richards places Briscoe on the top and goes of a superplex. Brisoe turns it into a super board buster that gets two. Both men are down. Jay calls for the Jay Driller. Richards blocks it. DDT by Richards into the Kimura. Briscoe gets the ropes. Briscoes start no selling stir.e Palm strike combo by Richards and than hand spring kick. Sadly Bricoes is to close so Davey has to stop short. Even worse Briscoe no sells it and leaps into the air of a kick that misses but Richards sells anyway. Mark Briscoes runs out and start to talk to his brother. Running corner clothesline by Jay andy boot scrap. Jay places Davey on the top rope. Jay blocks the super Jay Driller. Shooting star press by Richards but Briscoe gets his knees up. Awful looking Big boot than a sloppy falcon arrow gets two. Jay Driller by Briscoe gets the win. BULL SHIT!  Davey should have gone over he had been hopping to the Briscoes in tag matches for months so now in a single match now would be a good time to get him a win. Other wise it's an ok match. Davey managed to make the spot monkey look decent. But there was a annoying amount of no selling by Jay in this match.

Eight Man Elimination Match Colt Cabana, Nigel McGuinness, BJ Whitmer and Delirious with Daziee Haze vs Shingo, Jimmy Jacobs, Jimmy Rave, and Bryan Danielson with Lacey- Wasting teaming teasing like a an all out brawl is about tot break up but it never does. Shingo and Delirious start us off but just so Delirious can do his freak out he than tags in Cabana. I get the freak out is part of Delirious gimmick and normally I get a kick out of it but we stall on dining the bell for nothing to happen and than we stall some more. More stalling Cabana and Delirious exchange bows and the heels play with Shingo's hair. I could have sworn this was a match with some many issues it was about to blow up not a comedy match. Cabana has the referee check the mullet. They can't even lock up right It looks like Cabana wanted to lock up than Shingo pulled back so Cabana instead went for the single leg. Wrist lock by Shingo. Arm wringer by Cabana. Shingo ties up the legs of Cabana. Chin lock by Cabana. Side head lock by Shingo. The colloid on shoulder tackles. Cabana grabs the mullet but Shingo elbows free.  Hip toss by Cabana and he ties up the arm and messes with the hair some more. Forearm by Shingo. Chop by Shingo. Cabana in the heels corner and Jacobs with a cheap shot. Shingo holds Cabana so Jacobs can kick him. Jacobs tags in and exchange of punches.  Blind tag by Danielson.  Danielson advances "STOP" Yells Cabana and than he arm drags Danielson down. Tag to Nigel. Arm wringer by Nigel and than he tags WHitmer who hits an elbow. Hammer lock by BJ who than tags in Delirious. Shot to the stomach by Delirious than a shed is head butts. Tag back to Nigel who gets a wrist lock. Nigel traps one arm on the ground than locks up the other wrist. Rave in and weakly boots Nigel off. Tag to Whitmer. Elbow to the back of the head by WHitmer than a wrist lock. Daniels revers into a head lock. Shoulder tackle by Daniels. Arm drag by Whitmer into the arm bar. Daniels drives Whitmer to the heel corner and it's cheap shot time. Tag to Rave who works over the arm and shoulder. Tag to Jacobs. Punches exchange between the two former partners. Tag by Rave who gets a front face look. Back kick Rave. Chops by Whitmer. Whitmer goes to run the ropes but a knee to the back by Jacobs. Exploder suplex by Whitmer. Everyone into the ring when BJ covers and gets two. Jacobs has the spike and waits for Whitmer to stand up. Cabana saves Whitmer and Jacobs drops the spike. Jacobs sends Cabana to the floor. Whitmer has the spike. Lacey and Daziee fight on the apron and Jacobs dares Whitmer to spike him no realized Lacey is right behind him. Whitmer goes to spike Jacobs who ducks but Lacey takes the shot. Jacobs bails out of the ring to check on her. Jacobs picks Lacey up and runs her to the back. I think ROH wanted this to be a big shocking moment but it doesn't come across like it. For once thing the live crowd doesn't react the much as I think most of them aren't sure what to watch with so much going on around the ring. Second we don't get a good shot of Lacey getting hit with the spike and I could see in people in the live crowd thinking Whitmer had simply just knocked Lacey off the apron. Maybe it could have worked better in a match with less guys or simply having Lacey take a big bump instead of the spike.

Everyone brawls on the floor. Back i the ring Whitmer and Rave exchange shots. Nice looking spine buster by Whitmer on Rave. We see Jacobs returns to ring side. Jacobs has a chair and hits BJ in the ankle he had surgery on earlier. Repeated chair shoots by Jacobs. They clearly wanted this to be Jacobs has snapped again moment but the problem is two fold once Jimmy is using a plastic chair and his shots to BJ look really weak. Jacobs is DQ'ed from the match. Cabana sends Jacobs to the floor. Dragon screw by Rave and he locks in his version of the ankle lock and Whitmer quickly taps out. Nigel is back up and goes after Rave. Uppercuts and thrusts by Nigel. Running uppercut by Nigel than brutal looking short arm lariat gets two. Nigel sets for the tower of London. This match is a real mess. Guys come in and out the entire time and only sometimes the referee enforces tags. There is so much going on you miss major parts of the match and no one really feels like they stand out. Also outside of Danielson I feel everyone else in the match could have used the win more. Delirious is talented guy but he didn't need this win. I think the smart move would be been to have Rave win sweeping the other time out showing he wasn't just back but even better than he was during his Embassy days.

Backstage a bloody Davey Richards talks about his first six months in ROH saying he's won some and lost some. Davey talking about about his recent losses and he learned he needs someone watching his back We cut back to Delirious celebrating his win. I Really do get why they are coin it like that show the guy in the ring first and than cut to a promo.

If night one was a swing and a miss night two is just one giant mess. Its the perfect example of a event that just doesn't age well. Its hard to watch a lot of the matches are just bad Its a real struggle to get through when you are watching. Normally guys like Samoa Joe can be counted on for great match but begin stuck with Mark Briscoe he has the worst match I have ever seen him in. Homicide and Pearce miss and miss badly. One night after finally doing something to set up for the Danielson vs Homicide they ignore and do nothing. If anything by having Homicide wrestle twice they undo it. Not only do I say skip this event if you have copy it destroy it.
