News and Notes Form TNA's Final Night in NYC

TNA legitimately sold out the Grand Ballroom at the Manhattan Center on Friday 6/27 with 1,200 fans in attendance. This was the show that sold out first out of the trio, based on the advertising that the Hardys would be reuniting.

TNA must not have been happy about video clips from the first two days of taping getting out, as security was in full force stopping any fans they believed were shooting video at the show.

In an update on the Friday attendance, a source at the venue stated today it was in the 900 range.

That would mean TNA drew about 3,300-3,400 fans over the three days. There was a feeling backstage that the crowd was partially a different set of fans every night as there were performers getting "welcome back" chants on the second and third nights when they had obviously been appearing all week at the venue.

Tommy Dreamer was backstage at the third taping working as an agent but did not appear before the crowd.

After the show, Al Snow was ribbed when Devon took the house mic and asked that everyone sing for his birthday. It wasn't Snow's birthday. I was told this was an ongoing rib from Devon on Snow today.

Morale remained up after the third taping as the NYC crowd remained hot for most of the matches on the show.

Backstage visiting at the show were Prince Nana, Steve Mack and the former Dirty Rotten Scoundrelz, KC Blade and the now retired EC Negro.

Mistress Belmont from NECW and other New England independent groups also received a tryout yesterday before the show.

Professional bodybuilder Kai Greene was at the taping on Thursday.

A number of fans with House of Hardcore ticket stubs received private meet and greets with Bully Ray after each night of the tapings this week as his way to make good from being pulled from the HOH events earlier this month. I was told that 50 fans total also received the meet and greet at the TNA tapings in Bethlehem, PA a few weeks back.
