Updated WWE Backlash 2018 PPV Card

Here is the updated card for Sunday’s WWE Backlash:
* WWE Championship: AJ Styles (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
* Intercontinental Championship: Seth Rollins (c) vs. The Miz
* RAW Women’s Championship: Nia Jax (c) vs. Alexa Bliss
* Smackdown Women’s Championship: Carmella (c) vs. Charlotte
* Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe
* Daniel Bryan vs. Big Cass
Opinionated View- Oh god this card is going to be painful. AJ and Naamura is always awful and no sheep Nakamura turning heel has not made him better. The guy sucks he will always suck. Rollins and Miz yawn and Christ this brand split is a damn joke you are already doing combined PPV and now you having TWO Raw vs. Smackdown matches. Bliss is always doing her best but this story of "Bullying" is trash. Nia is still awful and it doesn't help there is no focus on the title because they are feeding the division to Ronda.

Carmella vs. Charlotte is a nightmare come to life. Fans don't give a damn about Carmella and still don't react to her. Charlotte can only have a good match with someone that can carry her and she seems to get worse every month. Joe vs. Reigns its a damn Reigns match he's always going to suck.

WWE you have one big chip to play. The return of Daniel Bryan and you are watering it down. I get with Mania timing and build you had to do a tag match and it did fit the story. But you give away his first singles match on Free TV which also gave away his first match in WWE with AJ which would have been a huge buzz creater and again his first match for a title which would have been a huge story. But no you are wasting it by having him feud with Bland Cass. And Bland Cass is doing this lazy stale "I'm great because I'm a big man" shit.

Jake Roberts agrees to drop charges against Harry Smith

WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts has reportedly agreed to drop all charges against Harry Smith (Davey Boy Smith/DH Smith) following an incident at WrestleCon during WrestleMania 34 weekend in New Orleans.
According to a report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer/Figure Four Online, Roberts dropped the charges after a phone conversation setup by WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart. Both privately apologized to each other over the phone about the incident.
As reported earlier, Smith reportedly threw coffee in the face of Roberts over comments Roberts made about his father (the late British Bulldog) who passed away in May of 2002. Roberts made the negative comments on a podcast with the late “Rowdy” Roddy Piper.
Smith issued the following statement this weekend:
“I’d like to announce publicly and officially that I spoke with Jake Roberts on the phone today and we squashed heat we have for what happened at the WrestleCon event. I apologized and said I would apologize publicly as Jake agreed he would be dropping any charges pressed against me. I’m a man of my word and I’d like to say sorry to any fans that I stressed with this situation also. I wish Jake all the best and glad that we squashed the heat. I actually had spoken to Roddy Piper before he passed away about the podcast Jake and he did. I’m certainly glad we worked things out, as Roddy died [not] long after.”

Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar Finish Botched

– The finish of the Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar match at Greatest Royal Rumble was botched. The steel cage match ended with Reigns spearing Lesnar through the cage, but his feet clearly hit the floor before Lesnar’s did. While WWE steel cage matches have always ended with the winner being the first whose feet touch the floor, the commentary team found themselves scrambling to come up with an explanation. They ultimately said that the winner was the person who exited the cage first and since Lesnar was first out of the cage, he was declared the winner.

Interestingly, WWE.com’s recap of the match says, “Brock Lesnar retained the title after being Speared through the cage because his body touched the arena floor first.”

Opinionated View- Lesnar and Roman are a botch in general

Braxton Sutter Departs Impact Wrestling

My time at is up and I would to extend a HUGE thank you to them. They gave me my first official contract/job as a wrestler at 35yrs old and hired my wife at the same time. I’ll never forget that. It was a great chapter in my life, now onto the next one!!

Opinionated View- I'm disappointed as I fee Sutter/Parks had a lot more he could still do. But I also get talent and the company needs to move around. Guy is leaving with his head held up. Door could easily be open for a return.

ITV Studios Entertainment to revive WOS Wrestling project in the UK, Tapings announced for May

ITV.com is reporting that WOS Wrestling (World of Sport Wrestling) will be returning to present a 10-part wrestling series from ITV Studios Entertainment.
Tapings have been announced for May 10, 11 and 12 at Epic Studios in Norwich. Tickets are now available for all three tapings (tickets are free to attend live).
Last March, Anthem and Impact Wrestling announced a partnership with with ITV Studios Entertainment to take part in tapings last May around the time Jeff Jarrett was returning to the company in an executive role. The tapings never took place and plans for the project were put on hold according to an announcement last May.
While it would appear Anthem and Impact Wrestling is not involved this time around, WWE did announce another return to the UK market on June 18 and 19 in London to bring back the United Kingdom Championship Tournament at Royal Albert Hall. WWE first ran a UK tournament last January in Blackpool that ran on the WWE Network.
While it remains to be seen if Jarrett is involved with this version of tapings, he did tweet just two days ago hinting at “finalizing a deal” aimed at UK pro wrestling fans.
UK 🇬🇧 professional wrestling fans...in the process of finalizing a deal...stay tuned!

Tom McLennan, Creative Director, ITV Studios Entertainment, spoke about the new project.
“There is a massive indie wrestling scene in the UK and a strong nostalgia for the wrestling shows of our youth. WOS Wrestling will combine the best of the past with incredible talent available today to make a fun, exciting and thrilling show that the whole family can enjoy.”
