Impact Wrestling Releases Alberto El Patron

PWInsider reports that Impact Wrestling has officially released Alberto El Patron from his contract. This comes after Patron no-showed last night’s Impact Wrestling vs. Lucha Underground event in New Orleans, as well as Wrestlecon today.
One source said last night that Patron claimed to be sick, but it’s believed by others in the locker room that he simply blew off the show. He previously appeared for a press conference that was filmed and streamed live online. At that event he brawled with Austin Aries before their PPV main event at Redemption PPV on April 22. That match has been cancelled.
Some sources suggest that Impact boss Ed Nordholm, who is stayingat the same hotel as Patron, tried to check on him and wasn’t able to. At first, there was concern about his health among management, who considered calling police for a wellness check at one point. Impact is expected to release a statement which could come as early as tonight.
Opinionated View- Sad one moron tried to ruin what was by all accounts a fun and special moment. But hey if El Patron wants to leave and screw up the PPV. All that means is door is open for Eli Drake or Moose, Or Cage or Johnny Impact or etc to step up and face Aries.
