As AEW makes moves towards its first show Double or Nothing, it’s still unknown when the company will announce a television show. Last month we reported on a possible name and it’s believed names like Chris Jericho wouldn’t have signed without one in place. According to Joe Peisich of Barnburner’s No Holds Barred podcast (via Ringside News), the show may debut in October.
He said: “Everyone wants to know when a TV deal is going to be announced by All Elite or do they have a TV deal. The plans are in October to have a weekly All Elite Wrestling show. In October.”
He added that the current schedule plan is Double or Nothing in Las Vegas in May, Jacksonville in July or August, then All In 2 in Chicago in August or September, followed by the TV show in October. AEW reportedly met with Turner over Super Bowl weekend and it’s rumored that they may be looking at a Tuesday night timeslot, especially when WWE leaves for Fridays on FOX.
Opinionated View- I keep seeing people say something long the lines of "AEW is a failure because they haven't announced a TV deal." I actually think they are holding back on the TV deal so they can annouce it closer to Double or Nothing and get a new cycle of press. I just hope it starts sooner than October.
