8/31 WWE Raw Report

Sting comes out and says he was pushed to his limits and he went toe-to-toe with Triple H, but that’s then, and now he’s focused on Seth Rollins. Sting says Rollins is no HHH and he’s a sellout, and he might hold the WWE title, but he’s only managing to hold onto it. He says Rollins is not the man, and he will prove Rollins is half the man Triple H is, a guy who had the guts to shake his hand at Wrestlemania. Sting says Rollins is a little boy living in their world, and he’s in for a hell of a ride.
Seth Rollins is shown complaining to Stephanie McMahon about what Sting just said, and he said Sting isn’t on a legends level. Stephanie says HHH is on that level, and maybe Rollins will get there someday, but it takes time. Rollins says with all due respect, they make statues for legends, implying himself, and asks where his went. Stephanie tells him to maybe ask Sting about what happened to it last week.
Dolph Ziggler (w/ Lana) vs Rusev (w/ Summer Rae)
Rusev kicks Dolph a few times and taunts him, then he slams him into the turnbuckles and tries to slam him down. Dolph floats over and applies a sleeperhold, then Rusev slams him into the corner as we go to a break. We get back from a break to see Dolph connect with some strikes and a splash, then Rusev counters a side slam with a throw and a splash. Rusev snaps Dolph’s head on the turnbuckles, but Dolph bounces back and superkicks him for two.

Rusev crawls outside and Dolph chases, but Rusev cheap shots him and slams him into the ring steps. Rusev gets a running start near the opposite ringpost and charges, but Dolph sidesteps him and whips him into the steps. Both men struggle to make the ref’s count but are successful, then Rusev stomps him and goes for the Accolade. Dolph counters with a Zig Zag, but Summer breaks up the pin and attacks him. Lana runs in and attacks Summer, then kicks her in the face as Dolph pulls her away.
Winner (by disqualification) – Dolph Ziggler
Renee Young joins Dolph backstage and he says technically he won, but he doesn’t think he’s seen the last of Summer Rae or Rusev. He says he hopes Summer says out of his matches, then says he’s off to hit the showers. Renee plugs a few other events for the night, and we see Summer behind her, sneaking into Dolph’s locker room.
Nikki Bella cuts a promo about the countdown to being the longest reigning Divas Champion ever, and unveils the ‘BellaTron’ countdown clock.
Beat The Clock Challenge
Becky Lynch vs Alicia Fox 

After a few minutes of back and forth strikes, Becky hits Alicia with a clothesline and a back heel kick for two. Becky goes for a scoop slam but Alicia reverses it, then Becky rolls through into Disarm-her and makes Alicia tap out.
Winner – Becky Lynch (3:21)

Ryback is backstage talking to Rich Brennan about his Intercontinental Championship match, then Summer Rae runs by laughing or crying. We cut to Dolph Ziggler, who runs out of his locker room in a towel, and goes back inside and punches the door.
Intercontinental ChampionshipBig Show vs Ryback (c) 
Big Show hits Ryback a few times and screams at the fans about the ‘please retire’ chants, then says someone should make him. Ryback goes to attack but Show falls down on him to counter a slam, then he knees Ryback in the ribs. Show punches him and slams him back down, but Ryback comes back with a spinebuster and calls for a Meathook. Ryback charges but Show counters with a chokeslam for two, then he heads up top but Ryback cuts him off. Ryback press slams him off the turnbuckles, then he goes for another Meathook but Show spears him! Show gets a two count, then he calls for the end but Miz (at commentary) distracts him and Ryback hits Shell Shocked for the win.
Winner – Ryback

Beat The Clock Challenge
Brie Bella vs Charlotte 

Brie gets a few strikes in and throws Charlotte outside, but Charlotte takes her down on the way in and goes for a Figure Eight. Brie gets to the ropes and kicks her, but Charlotte knocks her back and hits Natural Selection for the win.
Winner – Charlotte (time to beat – 1:41)
Cesaro vs Kevin Owens 
Owens talks trash about beating Cesaro at Summerslam, then Cesaro uppercuts him a few times and sends him into the corner. Cesaro uppercuts him a few more times, then Owens comes back with a few punches. Cesaro suplexes him him and stomps him, then Owens chops Cesaro and whips him, then connects with a kick. Cesaro rebounds with a clothesline, then Owens heads outside but Cesaro sends him into the barricade and rolls him back in. Cesaro hits a crossbody for two, then Owens comes back with some kicks and a forearm to the back.
Owens slams Cesaro into the ringpost and follows with a Torture Rack neckbreaker for two, then we get back from a break to see Cesaro hit a gutwrench suplex off the ropes. Cesaro calls for a Neutralizer but Owens backdrops him, only to have Cesaro roll through into a Swing attempt. Owens shoves him back and superkicks him, then he taunts a fan and calls for a corner cannonball. Cesaro rolls away to avoid it, then Owens punches him a few times and tells him to stay down.

Owens slaps him but Cesaro unloads on him and sends him into the corner. Cesaro blocks a tornado DDT and slams Owens on his stomach, then puts Owens in a Crossface near the ropes. Owens eventually breaks it but Cesaro tries to suplex Owens onto the floor, but Owens snaps him head on the ropes and shoulder tackles Cesaro into the commentary table. The ref checks on Cesaro as he hit his ribs on the table, but he rolls back in and catches Owens in another Swing attmept. Owens hits him in the ribs, then connects with a pop-up powerbomb for the win.
Winner – Kevin Owens
Dolph Ziggler is shown talking to Lana backstage, and he says he needs to explain what happened. She might be upset, but he was in his own locker room, and he got out of the shower and saw Summer standing there. He grabbed a towel and she ran away after he yelled at her to leave, but Lana asks him how he thinks she feels. Dolph says nothing happened and he covered up, but Lana just shakes her head and walks away.

Braun Strowman (w/ The Wyatt Family)
vs Dean Ambrose (w/ Roman Reigns)



Braun biel throws Ambrose a few times and chokes him, then he kicks Ambrose in the chest and sends him outside. They fight on the floor as Bray tries to get involved, but Reigns runs over and the ref throws the match out.
Braun whips Reigns into the timekeeper’s area and throws Ambrose across the floor, then he picks Reigns up and whips him in the ring. Braun shakes off some punches from Reigns and chair shot by Ambrose, then chokes them both out while Harper and Bray watch. Braun hits Reigns with a spinning over-the-shoulder slam, then Bray hits Sister Abigail and taunts the crowd.
Result – No Contest
Seth Rollins says he is going to remind Sting who he is, and he is going to call Sting out and show him who he is. Rollins says Triple H is a legend in his own right, but he’s a dual title holder, and he’s the man… NOW.
Beat The Clock ChallengePaige vs Sasha Banks 
Paige and Sasha trade strikes, then they tie up but Paige catches Sasha with a knee to the face. Paige sets up and hits Ram-Paige, but Naomi and Tamina pull Sasha out of the ring. Paige tries to roll her back in to make her tap, but time runs out.
Result – Paige does not beat the clock


Lana joins Renee Young backstage to talk about tonight’s incident, and she shows a clip of Summer Rae’s comments. Summer says Dolph invited her in the locker room and started stripping, and she was memorized. She says Dolph took a shower and he gave her ‘the look’ but she couldn’t do anything because of Rusev. Summer says she ran away, but she won’t forget it, then we see Lana walk away crying.


The New Day comes out and talks about memories of family and other events, then say smashing tables prevents those memories. They reveal a table covered in bubble wrap, and start a ‘save the tables’ chant.
The New Day vs The Dudley Boyz 
Bubba hits Kofi and E a few times and Devon assists with some corner splashes before they clear the ring. We get back from a break to see Devon getting attacked on the floor, and Bubba argues with the ref about interference. New Day uses quick tags to keep Devon down, then E slams him into the barricade. E applies an abdominal stretch back in the ring, then Kofi hits him a few times before heading up top. Devon catches him with a tackle on the way down, and finally gets the tag. Bubba hits a few clotheslines and a backdrop, then he splashes Kofi and knocks E off the apron. Bubba hiptosses Woods after he tries to interfere, then Devon hiptosses back out towards the opposite side of the ring. Bubba sets up for WAZZUP but Kofi hits him from behind, only Devon rebounds and assists with a 3D for the win.
Winners – The Dudley Boyz
Bubba and Devon set up for a 3D through the bubble wrapped table, but Woods pulls E out of the ring to save him.

Seth Rollins comes out and says he wants two things; he wants Sting to take his comments about Triple H back, and he wants his statue. He says someday he might be as great as HHH, but his statue is a symbol of his greatness now, and his status as a dual champion. Rollins demands Sting meets him in the ring, but Stephanie McMahon instead comes out and says she suggested this, but he should stop. She tells him to stop talking about her husband, HHH, and Rollins says this is what happened when HHH was compared to Ric Flair.


He says this is his time now, but Stephanie says Sting is in his head, and she declares he is the man already. Rollins demands Sting answers him, then John Cena comes out instead and says he should watch how much he trusts the Authority. Cena brings up Randy Orton and Batista, and he calls Rollins the ‘latest flavor’ and they aren’t really friends. Cena says they won’t let him do this if they are friends, but he wants his US title rematch at Night of Champions! He says The Authority called for ‘every title on line’, and Rollins goes to answer, but Cena tells Stephanie to answer since she’s the ‘real face’ here.
Stephanie reluctantly says ‘yes’ to the match, and Cena celebrates on the way out, and Rollins argues with her. Sting then comes to the stage and Rollins looked pissed, and he looks at both his titles before staring back at his two opponents.
