Vince McMahon is said to be “freaking out” over the recent drop in ratings for Raw and Smackdown. Both shows have suffered signficant drops lately with Raw hitting the lowest viewership numbers in years, while Smackdown has been hovering just above (and once below) the two-million mark for non-holiday shows the first time.
It is worth noting, however, that the site also noted that McMahon’s reaction tends to be the same at the start of each fall as football and the new TV season returns. However, the ratings have been on a general slide, with this September’s numbers down around half a million from the same time last year. This is usually when WWE does something big to try and shake things up.
Opinionated View- This report comes from The Observer and for once I'm inclined to believe it. Mainly because Dave is pro WWE these days.
But of course ratings are going done. WWE is so damn stale. The same story of the Authority is going on for years. They have booked Rollins in a way that he has no heat of his own. He's the guy holding belt only because he gets help never because of anything he does.
And for years the only reason to watch Raw has bene "You can see this legendary ____" Even that runs thin for the sheep.
