After having medical tests due to his injury at Night of Champions, it was revealed that Sting’s neck is not broken. He went to the hospital right after the PPV and had a CAT scan and an MRI. He was able to walk after the event but “was not doing well”. The MRI showed no fractures.
WWE was planning to have Sting in the opening segment of RAW, but he went home after the PPV and all the medical tests. His injury happened after taking the turnbuckle powerbomb. Dave Meltzer believes that the company is “going to be leery” about putting Sting back in the ring after what happened.
Sting was not backstage at RAW last night and was at home resting. WWE.com had announced that Sting would open RAW with a major announcement, but at this time it seems as though there was a miscommunication. The announcement was pulled from the website after fifteen minutes.
TMZ previously reported that Sting was at home resting after his injury and his WWE future is “uncertain”. There are currently no plans to use Sting at WWE Hell in a Cell. There will be a better idea of his in-ring future when doctors are able to make a prognosis. As we reported earlier today, his neck was not broken.
