According to the WON, WWE is developing a WWE Network series that will focus on lighter wrestlers. The series is still in the early phases, but it is said to be planned as a multi-week ten-episode tournament for “unknown” talent that hasn’t appeared on NXT or WWE and weigh less than 205 pounds.
Another potential idea for the project is to feature indie talent with the chance to get signed to WWE if they get over, with the possibility of including recent signee La Sombra to help get him over with WWE fans. The series could debut as early as this summer.
Opinionated View- So in other words the lighter guys aren't good enough to be featured on the other shows. This just sounds stupid. I don't care big or small I just want to see talent. But WWE is awful at pushing smaller talent for the most part. And it's clear you need to be great in order for the WWE to be behind you. But you can be big and suck yet get a 20 year career and Mark Henry proves that.
