UPDATE: Prowrestlingsheet.com has received word from WWE, confirming the news that O’Neil was suspended for unprofessional conduct and taken off the road. They also had it confirmed that the suspension is for 90-days.
ORIGINAL: According to Pwinsider.com, Titus O’Neil was sent home from last night’s Smackdown taping in Portland, Oregon shortly after he arrived. The site reports that he was suspended for unprofessional conduct.
At the end of the Daniel Bryan retirement ceremony, the WWE performers were on the stage to pay tribute to Bryan. At the end of the segment (which aired on the WWE Network) Bryan returned to the locker room after passing through the center of the assembled WWE personnel. As he went to the back, O’Neill grabbed WWE owner Vince McMahon in what was described to us as in a “playful, physical way.” McMahon then shoved O’Neil, which was visible at the end of the broadcast.
Pwinsider.com reports that McMahon was angry at being grabbed and that led to the suspension. When O’Neil arrived at Smackdown last night, he was informed that he was being sent home. While there is no official word from WWE, there is speculation that the suspension could be for upwards of 90-days. That would put O’Neil out of action through May and obviously out of WrestleMania 32.
Last night, the WWE Network exclusive video of Daniel Bryan’s farewell was removed from Youtube and WWE.com as well as the WWE Network; the speculation is so that they can edit the ending
