Flashback Reviews WWF In Your House VI

The Royal Rumble kicks off the Road to WrestleMania in January. WrestleMania itself usually takes place in March or April. Than we have the February PPV. Which has always been hard to figure out for the WWF/WWE. They don't want give anything to big with Mania coming up. On the other hand you can't ask people to buy a PPV and go “We aren't putting anything worth while on this.” Over the years the company has had a number of different names and takes on the this PPV. For this we are looking back at the very first February pay per view. The WWF launched In Your House in 1995. This was also the start of doing PPV's every single month. I actually like the In Your House Idea. They were shorter PPV's sold at lesser price. Some what like the current TNA One Night Only Idea only they were live and played out the storyline. So was the first In Your House a Great set up for Mania 12? Or was it just an example of Mid 90's crap.

We start with Sunny in a bikini warning us the following show is to hot for some. Some forget that at this time the WWF was actually mixed on which direction to go. There was already talk of going more adult yet others wanted to be more family friendly. They actually reached a deal with a company to promote being more family friendly only to keep doing stuff that upset people. So as a compromise they added these warning to the PPV's. Or actually open talk about the emotions of being a champion while showing Bret Hart. It asks if they feel elation or power or maybe fear that they could lose the title. Than we got a shot of Diesel talking about being a former champion and the feeling of rage and frustration and anger at losing the title. Finally we got a shot of Diesel costing the Undertaker the title at The Rumble that year. Its an effective open explaing why they need to have the title match in a cage. Its a good open. Pushing the story going on. Diesel had fairly won the WWF title Bret was screwed out of. Bret though had managed to beat Diesel to win after about a year reign. A bitter Diesel after not being granted a rematch and losing the Rumble interfered in the Undertaker's title shot. Our announce team is Vince McMahon and Jerry Lawler. Since they are in Louisville Vince bring up the Kentucky Derby. King says its going to be a daily double as Shawn Michaels will lose his shot at WrestleMania and Bret Hart lose the WWF title. Lawler hypes the rest of the card thinking every face will lose.

Crybaby Match Razor Ramon vs. The 123 Kid with Ted DiBiase- The Kid had been Razor's little buddy after upsetting him on Raw years earlier. But had turned on him and joined the Million Dollar Cooperation. At the Rumble the Kid cost Razor the IC title. The idea is the loser is going have to wear a diaper and get fed a bottle… I can't believe I just wrote… Hell I can't believe a company put this on PPV. The idea is each guy had called the other a cry baby and man are Jim Cornette's finger prints all over this. Hell he was doing this stuff with Chris Candio in SMW about two years before. Kid comes out with a Teddy Bear dressed like Razor. Kid throws it at Razor who throws back a toothpick and than slaps him in the head. Big shoulder tackle by Razor than a series of right hands. Kid clotheslines over the top rope to the floor. 123 snaps Razor on the top ropes. Flying lariat off the top rope by Kid gets one. Series of kick by the Kid. Weak looking elbow to the stomach by Kid than some more kicks. Over hand chops by Kid. Razor blocks a hip toss and chops the Kid before hitting a hip toss. Running clothesline by Razor. Kid goes for a crossbody but Ramon catches him and does the fall away slam. Razor's edge set up but Kid to the apron. Ramon nails The Kid. DiBiase has a thing of baby powder and throws it at Razor blinding him. Missile dropkick by 123 Kid only gets the 1 2. Running legdrops by The Kid. Standing dropkick by the Kid who goes to the top. Frog splash only gets two. Punches by the Kids and the spinning back kick in the corner. Sleeper by the Kid. Razor power free and shoves the Kid off. And than I think they mess up as they run into each other and than have to try and make it look like Razor is gong for something.

Kid ducks a clothesline and gets a sleep this time jumping on his back. The Bad Guy starts to fade. Razor wakes up and runs Kid back into the corner. Kid right back to the sleeper. . Razor slowly walks toward the ropes. I think the idea is Ramon is fading again but Razor's face doesn't show it he just looks board. Ramon drops to his knees. Referee never checks the arm and Razor starts to fight up. Atomic drop onto the ropes by Razor. Both men are down. Kid crawls over and covers and gets two again. Punches by Ramon rock the Kid and drop him. Razor puts Kid on the top. Back elbow by the kid. Flying body press by the kid. But Razor rolls through for two. Jumping back heel kick by The Kid. 123 Kid covers and gets two. Razor puts the kid back on the top and kicks the gut. Super fall away slam by Razor Ramon. Razor singles for the Edge. DiBiase puts the powder on the apron and than goes on the other side. Kid has the powder. Razor kicks the hand and the Kid is blind. Razor's Edge and he covers 1 and 2 and Razor pulls him up. A second Razor's Edge for the win. Mediocre to below average match given the level these two were cable of at the times. But not shocking. By all accounts Hall was already checked out of the WWF and unhappy with a number of things. And given the Stipulation I don’t' think Waltman wanted to go all out. Doesn't help Lawler is awful in this match cranking all kind of lame jokes about how ugly Razor was as a baby.

Post match the referee hand Razor the bottle and diaper. Razor pours some of milk on the kid. Dibiase tries to stop it but Razor throw powder at him blinding him. Razor diapers The Kid and than pours powder all over the 1 2 3 Kid. After the replays the Kid wakes up very slowly and starts doing martial arts poses. Finally DiBiase breaks the new the match is over. Kid starts to celebrate and than he sees he is wearing the diaper. The Kid starts to crazy and throw a fit. You know I get the idea is supposed to be “The heel gets humiliated.” But there are much better stipulation to do. Think about having to explain this to a friend… Its stuff like this that makes you hate being the wrestling guy. Lame stipulation that had to come from Cornball Cornette.

Backstage Ray Roque and Sunny plugging the WWF Superstar Line. Razor implies she will hit on Razor while Ray makes another lame joke. We get footage of Jake Roberts scaring Sunny earlier during the free for all. Lame segment that again makes me glade my mom never let me call these numbers.

After Triple H's entrance we got backstage with Todd Pettengill and Duke The Dumpster Droese. Droese claims no where to no where to hide and it's revenge time. He says he will take Helmsley out like yesterday's garbage. We get footage from Superstars with Hunter attacking Drose and cutting his hair. Lame promo with Drose just yelling.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley with Elizabeth Hilton vs. Duke The Dumpster Droese- Ah the early days of Triple H's career where his gimmick was supposed to be a snob. In this case a snob from Greenwich Connecticut. Because Vince wanted to make fun of his neighbors. At the time he came out with a different female valet each week and Hilton was just the one that got picked. The feud here started at the Rumble. During the drawing each man drew a blank instead of a number and wrestled on the Free For All the winner getting enter the Rumble at 30 and the Loser at 1. Helmsley lost via DQ starting the feud. Droese charges down the aisle but Helmsley is waiting. Duke in control early with punches. Droses tosses Helmsley by his hair. Hard whip by Drose and than a gorilla press slam. Helmsley begs for mercy. Droese whips Helmsley with a belt. Big boot by the Dumpster. Mounted punches by Droese. Triple H escapes and drops Droese into the turnbuckle. Lawler asks Hilton about Droese who says the fight isn't over yet. Pedigree attempt but The Dumpster hits an atomic drop. Scratch of the back by the trash man. Helmsley back body drops Duke to the floor. Lawler still talking to Hilton who calls Helmsley incredible. She clearly wasn’t expected to talk and seems unsure of what to say. Hemsley whips Droese into the steps. Back in the ring the pre-game covers and gets two. Upper cut by Helmsley and than a knee drop gets two. Exchange of punches and Helmsley goes to the eyes than the high knee and a snap suplex. All only enough to get a near fall. Punches and chops by Helmsley and than a whip into the corner. Triple H runs into a boot. Double clothesline and both men are down as the referee counts. Spin buster by Droese. More punches and another back body drop by Droese. Scoop and slam by Droese but he won't cover. The Dumpster says it's time to take out the trash. Trash compactor slam by Droese. The Dumpster gets a trash can tosses it and the lid into the ring. HHH has the lid and nails Duke behind the referee's back for the win. Ok match but nothing great. You can see the clear potential Helmsley had as the guy always had talent. But this feud just wasn't interesting. Again not helping Lawler does lame jokes about Trash and Garbage men.

After a plug for the WWF store we get a recap of Yokozuna leaving Camp Cornette. We a video of The British Bulldog accidentally hitting Yokozuna with a leg drop. Stunning him enough it allowed Shawn Michaels to superkick him and knock him outside the ring during a match. Yoko got counted out costing his team the match. When Cornette started to berate him Yokozuna snapped and attacked. It was a decent angle. That made sense. The idea was Yokozuna a former WWF champion wasn't going to put with Cornette anymore. Backstage Dok Hendrix better known as Michael Hayes talks about how anything to can happen in the WWF. Hendrick claims Cornette had forbid Yokozuna to speak for three years. Yokozuna yells Cornette hogged the spotlight and got all the credit even though he won the gold. He reminds Owen Hart the gold he ever got was when he hid behind “ME.” Yokozuna warns Bulldog he's in the wrong place and says he will burn Camp Cornette to the ground. Two big problems with this promo it's nothing but Yokozuna yelling. While that can work I think he would have better off just saying the line about burning Camp Cornette to the ground. The other issue it's clear that Yokozuna isn't Japanese. I know in real life he was Samoan but still you get my point.

The British Bulldog with Jim Cornette vs. Yokozuna- Sadly by this point Yokozuna's weight was badly out of control. Yes he was a heavy guy and that was his gimmick but early on his career he could really move. By this time walking looked tough. Exchange of punches at the start with Yoko in control. Big back body drop and a series of clothesline drop the Bulldog who begs for mercy. Body slam by Yokozuna. Running elbow drop misses and Bulldog pounds and hits punches. Bulldog needs three clotheslines to finally take Yokozuna down. Choke using the ropes by Bulldog. Cheap shot with the racket behind the referrer’s back. Yokozuna revers a whip and avalanche in the corner. Bulldog down perfect position for the bonzi drop. For some reason Yokozuna drags him to the other side of the ring and than climbs up the ropes.. Cornette makes the save and pulls Bulldog to the floor. Yoko out after him. Hard forearm and Davey Boy sent into the post. Charge by Yokozuna and Bulldog moves. Yoko hits the steel. Back in the ring Bulldog off with a double ax. Cover by Bulldog and Yokozuna pushes Bulldog off. Bulldog back to the top but get caught coming off. Right hands by Davey Boy Smith and more clotheslines. Yokozuna won't go down. Samoan drop by Yokozuna. Belly to belly suplex by Yokozuna. Cornette into the ring and hits Yokozuna. Referee calls for the bell. Bad match. I mean you will see much worse. But again by this point Yokozuna was so limited due to his size there wasn't much he could do. Also it doesn't help Davey had to toss moves out of his playbook since there was no way to get Yokozuna up for them.

Cornett with repeated shots to the back with the racket but Yoko no sells them. Yokozuna turns slowly on Cornette. Cornball begs for Mercy. Vader with a easy jog to the ring and finally makes the save. Exchange of punches by the two monsters. Bulldog back up and its a double team. Vader pulls handcuffs out of his jacket and they secure Yokozuna to the ropes. Yokozuna fights back with one arm but can't stop the double team. Official out by they can't break it up and get chased off by Vader. Vader keeps attacking as Vince claims “That is an animal he doesn’t belong here.” Man this segment really start to drag on as Yokozuna doesn't go down. I get the idea was supposed to be “What heart” but still just to long. Finally Yokozuna goes down and Cornette beat him some more with the racket. Beat down that went on way to long. I think the idea was to do Vader vs. Yokozuna at Wrestlemania but instead it was a six man with Vader teaming with Owen and Bulldog to face Yokozuna, Jake Roberts and Ahmed Johnson.

We get Goldust and Marlena at the American Online table do a live chat. Goldust rubs on the guy manning the computer. The audio is awful here I think he bring up his rematch with Razor Ramon but again audio is awful so I can't hear. Vince confirms the rematch takes place tomorrow night on Raw. We than go to the hype for the HBK vs. Owen Hart match. We get a recap of Shawn being attacked by nine guys (which actually happened it was not a storyline either that or Shawn wasn't ready to lose his smile depending on who you ask.) having to give up the IC title. Than Shawn collapsing after another match which they claimed was post concussion syndrome. And Shawn considering retirement. We than cut to Owen bragging about ending Shawn's career. We than get Shawn's comeback announcement and that he will be in the Royal Rumble. Than Shawn winning the rumble but agreeing to put the title shot on the line to get revenge on Owen. Something was missing in this video. Usually WWE is really good at them it just felt like this missed it. I think the big key is they didn't do enough to make it seem like Owen was behind the collapse.

Backstage Todd is with Shawn. Todd says HBK was upbeat earlier but asks if this is the biggest match for his career. Shawn says it is and with out the W he can't achieve his destiny. Shawn promises to kick it with the Kliq and they will rock to WrestleMania. Ok eventually Shawn did figure out how do a face promo but this wasn't it. I don't think it helps that the company wanted a white meat 80's babyface. They wanted Shawn to have a nickname for his fans like the Hulkamanics or the Little Stingers. But that wasn't Shawn.

Winner Gets the WWF Title Shot At WrestleMaina Owen Hart with Jim Cornette vs. Shawn Michaels- During a match on Raw Owen kicked Shawn in the head with an enziquir. He than collapsed. The idea being he was injured again after the gang attack. This was part of a larger story of Shawn having been in the WWF for many years but never winning the title. Only the idea being all the ups and downs he faced got him ready to be champion. Owen and Cornette had bragged for weeks about putting Shawn out so Shawn had to risk it all to get his chance at revenge. Shawn makes his entrance dancing on the roof of the house set. Sadly Shawn admits he can't really dance so he just kind of turns around. Finally he swing off the house. Exchange of punches in the ring. Shawn dumps Owen to the floor and finishes his usual entrance stripping off the jacket and chaps. Vince calls Shawn “A young man that will get into anybodies face.” Speaking from experience Vince. Finally the bell rings as Owen gets back in the ring. Owen tells Shawn he is gong to kick him in the head. Shawn just plays to the crowd. Owen shoves Shawn and Shawn returns the favor. Lockup into a head by Michaels. Owen shoves him off. HBK through the legs and to the floor. Cornette because he can't ever be subtle runs away screaming waving his hands. I mean fine you want to be scared that is fine and I get it given the story of how Cornette and Owen bragged. But don’t' look like a god damn Looney Toon doing it. Shawn takes a lap slapping hands. Kick to the gut and a headlock by Owen. Shawn shoves Owen off. Owen through the legs to the floor. Owen takes time to mock allowing Michaels to the top to come off with a cross body to the floor. Back in the ring double ax off the top by HBK. Headlock by Michaels. Hart tries back body drop but Michaels lands on his feet and picks the ankle. Shawn walks on Owen's back. Headlock by HBK. Hart pulls the hair to get free but it doesn't work. Hart shoves Michaels off but HBK grabs the hair to keep the hold. The referee wants Shawn to break the hold he does for a second and than puts it right on.

Cornette up to complain all this does is distract the referee allowing Michaels to pull the hair more. Normally I would complain about the face cheating. But here I think it works. Owen pulled the hair first and it's Shawn saying “You want to play dirty ok I'll play dirtier.” Cornette up again and Shawn does it again. Shoulder block by Michaels, hip toss by Hart but upkick by Michaels both men kip up. Rana by Michaels into ground and pound. Michaels tries a back body drop. Owen stomps himself and hits a belly to belly suplex. Stomps by Owen than a back breaker. Neckbreaker by Owen Hart gets two. Owen goes for the sharpshooter but Michaels blocks it and power frees. Knee to the back by Hart into the camel clutch. Michaels gets to his knees but Owen has the chinlock. Shots to the stomach by Shawn. Knee to the gut shuts down Michaels. Jackknife pin by Owen gets two. Back to the chinlock by Owen. Michaels gets free. Back heel kick to the head by Owen sends Shawn to the floor. Cornette over to try and attack Michaels but but the referee sees him and stops it. Hart pulls HBK up and headbutts him before trying to suplex him back in. Michaels blocks it and suplexes Owen to the floor. Michaels goes for a cross body off the apron but Owen catches him and power slams Michaels to the floor.

Back in the ring Owen to the top rope and hits the missile dropkick. Hart covers and gets two. Uppercuts by Hart. Michaels attempts a slam but HBK escapes and rolls him up for two. Owen whips HBK into the corner and than hits a hard lariat to the head. Hart stands over Michaels to mock and than finally goes for the sharpshooter. Micheal’s tries to crawl but Owen pulls him back to the center. A second effort and this time Michaels gets the ropes. I don't know if they meant it to work like this but given how the Mania XII match ends and how long he was in the hold. I wonder if this was a hint that Michaels was able to block out the pain from the sharpshooter longer than other men. Scoop slam by Owen and he stand on Shawn's hair. Roll up by Shawn gets two. Enziqru by Owen and Shawn collapses through the ropes to the floor. King start to celebrates as the referee counts. Owen out and throws Shawn back in to cover him. 1 and 2 and NO. Owen puts Michaels in the corner and goes for a bronco buster. HBK moves and Owen is hurting. Atomic drop by Michaels. Flying shoulder by Michaels and both men are down. Owen up first but Shawn kips up. Punches by Michaels. Flying forearm by HBK. Body slam and than the flying elbow. Punch to Cornette. Sweat chin music misses. Owen misses the enziquir. Second sweat chin music hits for the win.

Good match but never really becomes great. I think the two guys wanted to do a anything you can do I can do better match that's why you had the spots going through the legs to the floor. Owen doing only for Shawn to hit the crossbody. But I think given the story they should have done more to head. Maybe even have Owen do the enziquir one more time to set up the idea he went to the well once to often. Still though it's a fun match. It helps outside of early on we don't get much with Cornette.

Post match Vince says Shawn is one step closer to achieving his boyhood ream. Shawn Bring a kid into the ring and dances with her. Again this part of Shawn being a Family friendly face. But it just doesn't work for him. Just like Austin couldn't have done it or how Hogan couldn't have been the take no prisoners good guy. You can and need to have different types of characters not every face is the same type of hero not every villain is the same type of villain. We get an ad plugging WrestleMania XII and it talks about how great XI was. AH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! Its a lame commercial. Seems more like a ad to buy Mania XI replay.

Vince and King talk about the Hart vs. Michaels match. Vince talks about how tremendous it was. King says he’s not a part of the Kliq. Vince throws to Pettengill. Todd brings out acting WWF President Rowdy Roddy Piper. Big Roddy chant. Piper thanks the fans but says he has important business. Piper he takes his job seriously claims he can't be bought and says Micheal Jackson is guilty. Piper announces Shawn as the number one contender? Ah did that need to be announced? Piper puts over how hard Michaels has worked but warns him he faces either Bret Hart or Diesel but says he won't stop it until there is a winner. Piper than says he doesn't feel sorry for Yokozuna says he kind of dumb. Piper says he will cure Vader of his malfunction and says Vader is inbred and calls Vader's mask a jockstrap. Piper says he won't suspend Vader. (in story line Vader had been suspsend for attacking Moonson allowing Piper to become President) Piper books a one on one match with Vader and Yokozuna. Jim Cornette and his attrony Clarence Mason come out. Piper tells them to shut up.

Ok Piper starts to make fun of Cornette for being redneck… Ah did Piper forget the were in Louisville IE Cornball's hometown? I mean wrong place to do redneck jokes. Cornette yells at Piper and bring up some of Piper's past and claims Piper is afraid of Vader. Cornette rants about Vader being suspended. Cornette warns Piper that what ever happens to Yokozuna and the rest of the WWF is on Piper. I think Piper says if Vader loses than Cornette is fired. And that never happened they changed the match and stipulation. Awful segment. Went on way to long and Piper just rambles here. It was clear this was meant to kill time to set up the cage but it could have been done better.

Steel Cage Match For the WWF Championship Bret Hart (c) vs. Diesel- Diesel had held the championship for a year but lost it to Bret at Survivor Series. He had become frustrated when first The Bulldog and than the Undertaker were granted shots at the title over giving him a rematch. At the Rumble after being eliminated by HBK Diesel had interfered in the title match with Hart and The Undertaker. Setting off a feud with the dead man. As a result the cage was orded to since Diesel and Undertaker had interfered in each other matches over and over again. Also this is supposed to be the final showdown with Bret and Diesel since the two had wrestled over the title a number of times. This is the old blue cage the WWF used. King reminds us Bret Hart has never lost a cage match but there is a first time for everything. In a nice shot they shot standing flat footed Diesel can reach the top of the cage. No referee in the cage since it's escape rules. Big knee lift right off the top. Not a good start as the shot looks really sloppy. Bret fires back with a low kick to the gut. Exchange of punches as Diesel drops Brett. Hard punches in the corner and than a knee lift by Big Daddy Cool. Diesel taunts Bret telling him it's going to be a long night. Diesel uses the boot and chokes Bret. Hart whipped into the corner hard. Vince says it sounds like a car crash and well really it does. Hart tries to fight back with kicks abut Diesel still in control. Bret blocks the attempted ram into the cage and gets Diesel into the steel and again by Hart. Elbow drops to the head by Hart. Bret makes the first effort to escape. Diesel just reaches up and stomps him. Knee lifts on the top rope by Diesel. Diesel picks Hart up and rams him back first into the cage twice. Door is opened but Diesel is way to slow. Bret uses the rope to stop the big man and punches hard. Head but to the gut by Hart. Bret tires to crawl out using the door. Diesel pulls the champion back in. Diesel tries to crawl and Bret pulls him back and stomps the stomach. Dumb spot. First it way to early to do the desperation crawl to the door. Second it just make Diesel look dumb by trying to crawl.

Cannon balls onto the leg by Hart. Snap of the leg by Bret Hart than kicks to the ham string. Punches and a clothesline by Diesel. Sidewalk slam by Diesel. King is getting really annoying just going “Run out of the cage.” Vince tries to cover by saying “You gotta respect Bret Hart.” But he state anything like “King I think he feels he needs to wear Bret Hart out so when he turns his back Bret can't stop him.” Diesel goes fro an elbow drop but Hart moves. Bret starts going to climb out but stops when he sees Diesel is crawling for the door. Hart back on the attack going after the legs. Bret start to climb up again and gets over. Diesel up and gets the hair for the stop. Diesel just tosses Bret off the top rope across the ring. Bret whipped into the corner but gets his leg up on the charging Diesel. Bulldog off the ropes by Hart. Bret Hart trying to climb again Diesel stops him. Back drop by Diesel. Bret goes for the door but Diesel lungs and stops him. Diesel drags back to the ring and this time he gets the elbow drop. Diesel tries to charge and this time Bret moves. Hart just stomping on the knee over and over again before snapping it. Second rope elbow drop by Hart. Diesel rammed head first into the turnbuckle. More kicks to the leg. Diesel reverses a whip and Hart hits hard chest first into the corner. You know that looked bad enough since Bret never half assed that spot. But the added sound thanks to the cage makes it sound so much mores. Both men are down. Diesel up first and clubs the back. Diesel tosses Bret into the corner and hits a knee lift and than a back elbow. Bret back to attacking the leg and climbs.

Bret starts to climb down the other side but Diesel pulls him back by hair. Shoulder and forearms into Bret's gut on the ropes. Hart face first into the cage. Hard whip sends Bret chest first into the door. King start yelling again for Diesel to go to the door. This time it makes sense as Diesel has a big smile and is coming off like he is toying with Bret. Big Daddy Cool hangs the Hitman on the ropes. Cannon ball onto Hitman's back. Snake eyes attempt into the cage. But Hart escapes and shoves Diesel cage first into the cage. Sharp Shooter attempts but Diesel with his reach pulls the hair and goes to the eyes to break it up. Hart with head butts and punches to the back. Side Russian leg sweep by Hart. Bret starts to climb. Diesel up but gets kick by Hart. Bret's version of the elbow drop off the top. Nice change of a trademark there by Hart. Hart tries to climb and again Diesel up. Low blow by Diesel and than he drops hard onto the ropes crotch first. Diesel tries to go to the door. Bret grabs the leg as Diesel kicks fee. Diesel is almost out. The Undertaker tears through the canvas and pulls Diesel back down with him. Bret climbs up and and escapes. Mediocre cage match . It had its moments but never got great. For one thing both men seem very paint by numbers in this match. It doesn't really seem to be all that intense like two men that had been fighting for the title for over a year. Also it doesn't help no blood. At the time as I said WWF was really cranking up the “Family” stuff in some areas. Bret had bleed heavy at the last in your house causing some issues. Finally it really grated on me Bret only used the door once. This is why I hate escape only rules. It just makes no sense why a guy wouldn't just the door instead of insisting on climbing up and out all the time.

Post match Diesel gets back out of the whole. Undertaker follows. A panicked Diesel climbs over the cage to escape. Diesel looks scared and than looks back at the Undertaker. The Undertaker stands atop the cage looking down at Diesel as backs up the aisle way. The lights go down as Diesel frantically looks around wondering what else might come after him. Taker just stay standing on the cage. It's an ok post match segment nothing to great. But they didn't have to add much the story was already set up between the two men.

This event is bellow average. It starts with a stupid stipulation both men clearly hated and ends with an ok match but not something special that feels like a cap off to a big event or feud. In between nothing of real value takes place. Hell this event really feels like a chore to watch. That said I'll take this over some of the current stuff WWE does. I mean some tweaks here or there could have been better. Just make Kid vs. Ramon a grudge match. Hold off on Yokozuna's first single match as a face. Owen vs. HBK is pretty good and doesn't need any change. But as it was not worth going out of your way to see.
