ROH 11/07/14 Survival of the Fittest 2014 Night 1 Detailed Results

Dark Match – RD Evans & Moose def. Jay Diesel & Jake Dirden w/ Truth Martini
This Dirden guy was working a Bruiser Brody type gimmick. He was nothing special but wasn’t bad either. Could be a fun midcard addition if he’s a HoT regular.
Tommaso Ciampa d. Will Ferrara via running knee – Ferrara did his plucky underdog thing but Ciampa mostly killed him. Very entertaining. Both guys are excellent in their roles.
Roderick Strong d. Tadarius Thomas via Stronghold – good, solid match.
Adam Page d. Cedric Alexander via back-to-belly piledriver – Really fun match. Page is terribly underrated. These guys have good chemistry from PWX and had a fun match. Really not sure why Page went over pretty clean but hopefully it’s the start of something more for him.
Adam Cole d. Delirious via countout – Long match. Started really slow but finished strong. The story here was that Delirious just wouldn’t die. Many false finishes. Long figure four spot. Finally, Cole shoves Delirious outside, puts the figure four on outside of the ring and lets go around 15 on the count, gets back in the ring and Delirious can’t beat the count. A bit of an awkward finish but overall a pretty good match.
Hanson d. Jay Lethal – total star turn for Hanson. MOTN. Great effort from both. At one point, Lethal was prepping for the Lethal Injection and turned his back to Hanson. Hanson does the Lethal Injection, ramming into Lethal with his back in lieu of the ace crusher. Lethal goes down. Hanson climbs the rope and does an absolutely beautiful moonsault but Lethal moved out of the way. Hanson destroys him with the spin kick to end it. Huge, huge pop for Hanson at the end of the match. Place went absolutely nuts for him. Doesn't say much ROH fans cheer the Brisoces.
RD Evans & Moose out after intermission to cut a promo about Evans’ TV Title Shot at Glory By Honor. Decade comes out. They’re chest to chest and Page attacks Moose from behind. This leads into the tag match.
Addiction d. Whitmer/Jacobs – Solid match, but nothing special. Daniels and Kazarian are so good. I didn’t see the finish because someone stood up right as it was happening.
Matt Sydal d. ACH via Shooting Star – Really good match. A lot of feeling out early but they turned it up and really got the crowd into it. Sydal worked ACH’s knee a lot and had a couple heel-ish spots. They really had Sydal work hard to lessen the loss for ACH. This did show that both guys benefit greatly from being in the flippy underdog role.
Mike Bennett & Matt Taven d. Briscoes – Brutal but very good match. They beat the crap out of each other. Crowd was on its feet the entire time. Mark hit a froggy bow from the top rope onto Taven who was on a table outside the ring. Lots of chair shots. Team clothesline spots using this huge metal pole. The finish saw four chairs set up in the ring in a square. Jay Briscoe was stuck in the ropes with Maria draped over him preventing him from escaping. Bennett stood on the chairs with Mark’s head between his legs. Taven climbed the ropes. They hit a spike piledriver on Mark through the chairs. Absolutely brutal spot. Afterward, Cole came down and the Kingdom hit a triple superkick on Jay.
