A new report by Dave Meltzer has revealed that sources with Destination America believe a television deal has been secured and that sources with TNA expect an official announcement to be made as early as this Thursday. This would come 24 hours after the airing of what is expected to be the final episode of Impact Wrestling on Spike TV.
Earlier plans had called for a series of "best of" shows to air in December, but that no longer appears to be the case. As reported earlier, Spike TV officials were openly talking at the Bellator 131 event that they are getting out of the wrestling business and how that was always the case despite reports claiming both sides were continuing to negotiate a new deal.
The extension given to TNA was considered a nice gesture by the network to give the company enough time to seek television outlets elsewhere. Destination America is available in 59 million American homes or 52.2% of those with television and is owned by the Discovery Channel. TNA had put a hold on the Manhattan Center for 1/6, 1/7 and 1/8.
Opinionated View- I would preferred a bigger network like CMT or WGN but Destination America is better than nothing. Also they could really get behind TNA and promote it big time.
