John Cena’s music hits and he’s greeted by the loudest chorus of boo’s since…the last time WWE was in the UK. They start chanting “John Cena sucks” along with his theme song, and once it dies down, he says he enjoys the “English remix” of his song. He then talks about trying to put a team together for Survivor Series, so they can unseat the Authority from power. Cena says that Zack Ryder tweeted that he wanted to be on his team, and now he’s injured for the next six months. Randy Orton tried to take a stand, and now he’s out as well. Cena announces Jack Swagger for his team, which gets very little reaction. Loud “we want Ziggler” chants.
After being called out, Ryback makes his way down to the ring and is put over as the most wanted free agent by both teams. He tries to talk, but is cut off by Triple H’s music, and the entire Authority comes out, including the security team. They motion to the back, and Mark Henry joins them. Stephanie gets some cheap heat by saying she wanted “God Save the Queen” as her new theme music. Triple H puts over that everything is on the line at Survivor Series, and that’s why he’s putting the fear of God into the entire roster – he actually calls himself God – because everything is on the line. Trips makes fun of Swagger and Ziggler for being “the little tiny guy”, and books them both in matches. Cena mentions that he said the same thing about Daniel Bryan, who beat his ass at WrestleMania.
Stephanie tells him Team Cena is false hope, and tells Ryback that he will be a main event player on Team Authority. She keeps sucking up to him, and Triple H promises him championships, fame, glory and simply, “more”. John Cena calls them all “wankers”, and says if he gets his ass kicked, at least he didn’t do it as a sell-out piece of sexual chocolate! Ryback says he doesn’t fear the Authority, but John Cena isn’t the name on the bottom of his paychecks. He picks up Cena and hits him with a spinebuster, and leaves the ring as Stephanie McMahon chants “YES!” with the Authority.
SETH ROLLINS vs. JACK SWAGGER
They go to commercial pretty early, and seem to have lost the crowd by the time it’s back. They’re chanting for the announcers. Swaggers comes back with a shoulder tackle and a big boot, and leads a “We the People” chant. He hits Rollins with the Swagger Bomb for two. Seth maneuvers into a sunset flip pin, but Swagger counters into the Patriot Lock. The hold is broken in the ropes, but he chases Rollins to the floor and locks it in again. Mercury and Noble cause a distraction, and Swagger ends up getting thrown into the ring post. They roll him back into the ring, and Rollins puts him away with the Curb Stomp.
Winner: SETH ROLLINS
After the match, a medic tries to check on Swagger, but the Authority goons make him leave. Rollins hits the Curb Stomp on Jack again, and they threaten Zeb Colter before leaving.
They show footage of Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose story development on Smackdown. Backstage, Ambrose says that he’s a sinner, but when he goes down, he’s going to self-destruct in a glorious fashion. He tells Wyatt there’s a special place in hell and he’s going to be dragged down into it at Survivor Series.
Backstage, Kane finds Ryback and tells him his match tonight is a chance to prove himself. He says the entire direction of WWE is on the line, and he’ll be ringside in tonight’s main event. He tells Ryback to have some humility and to be a “cog” in the Authority machine. Ryback says he doesn’t follow anyone’s lead, and that if he wanted Kane’s advice, he’d ask for it. He tells Kane to stay out of his way tonight.
PAIGE vs. ALICIA FOX
The hometown girl gets a good reaction, and a decent chant for her. Alicia kicks her in the face and bullies her around ringside. She locks in a back stretch, and smashes Paige’s face against the canvas. Paige comes back with a powerslam to a good pop, then hits the Rampaige for the win.
Winner: PAIGE
We get another backtage between Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. They watch footage of Vince’s return last week. Stephanie says she’s being tested, like she has her entire life. They console each other by making out.
Rusev and Lana come out to the ring for a championship celebration. Some representative tells them that Putin is proud of them, and he gets the “who are ya” treatment from the fans. They stand for the Russian national anthem, but Sheamus cuts them off and rushes the ring, chasing them off.
United States Championship
RUSEV (c) vs. SHEAMUS
RUSEV (c) vs. SHEAMUS
They do official introductions, and Rusev basically starts dominating from the start. This goes on for a few minutes, mostly with a side headlock. Rusev hits a spinning kick as they go to break.
They’ve lost the crowd again after the break. Sheamus eventually comes back with a few kicks and a running shoulder tackle, but just as quickly as it started, he gets taken back down. Loud “you sold out” chants, even though he still hasn’t joined the Authority. Another few minutes of rest holds, before Sheamus came back and hit Ten Beats, followed by a shoulder tackle over the ropes for two. He tries for a Cloverleaf, but can’t get it around Rusev’s large frame. They end up colliding; both men down as the “boring” chants begin. They trade right hands as a random “E-C-Dub” chant breaks out. Rusev hoists the big man up, but Sheamus throws some elbows and reverses it with White Noise. “Ole!” chants now, from the fans. I don’t know.
Sheamus looks for the Brogue Kick – he is COVERED in sweat, by the way – but Rusev bails from the ring. Sheamus follows up by going high risk off the top rope to the floor, taking them both down. The challenger is up first, stomping away on Rusev and throwing him off barricades. Rusev rolls back into the ring at 8, and Sheamus is attacked from behind by Authority goons while the referee is distracted. Sheamus gets counted out at 10.
Winner: RUSEV
Backstage, Stephanie McMahon congratulates Rusev on his title match. She wants to know if they’ll join Team Authority for Survivor Series. Lana says yes, and tries to talk about Putin, but Stephanie says she doesn’t give a damn about President Putin. She just wants to crush Team Cena.
Seth Rollins finds Ryback working out, and rambles on forever about the importance of Team Authority and getting on the same page for the future of blah, blah, blah. Ryback tells him he’s just going to go out and destroy his target, which tonight is John Cena.
MIZ & DAMIEN MIZDOW vs. LOS MATADORES
Hornswoggle it out with Team Miz, dressed up like him and Sandow. Sandow is majorly over, to the point where every time Miz tags into the match he gets massively boo’d. El Torito dropkicks Hornswoggle off the apron and it almost distracts Diego enough to lose to a roll-up. Miz gets another pin and Mizdow holds the opponent’s feet down to steal the win.
Winners: MIZ & MIZDOW
Backstage, Dolph Ziggler says they have way too many people against them. Cena says he understands if Dolph needs to jump ship to protect his title. Ziggler says there’s no way, and that he has John’s back because the Authority needs to be out of power. Triple H comes in and says it’s a little weird that they keep watching each other’s backsides. He bans John Cena from ringside during Ziggler’s match, and says that Swagger is injured and is removed from Team Cena at Survivor Series.
DOLPH ZIGGLER vs. MARK HENRY
Henry destroys Ziggler to start off the match, powering him down with rest holds. Ziggler dropkicks his knees out and the big man rolls to the floor. He tries to follow up but gets thrown into the barricade. Henry has a steal chair, and throws it into the champ’s face to cause the DQ.
Winner: DOLPH ZIGGLER (by DQ)
After the bell, Henry throws the ring steps into the ring and continues to beat down on Ziggler. He sets up for the World’s Strongest Slam on the steps, but Big Show runs out to make the save. He chases off Henry and announces himself as a member of Team Cena.
Sheamus, Big Show and Dolph Ziggler are all on Team Cena now.
AJ LEE vs. BRIE BELLA
Nikki is out to play cheerleader. Brie controls for a minute, goes into “Brie Mode” and almost immediately gets caught in the Black Widow. Nikki immediately attacks from behind and lays out AJ with the title.
Winner: AJ LEE
Backstage, Mark Henry tells Ryback abotu the time they had a match, and he kicked his ass. He says he’s just messing around, but Ryback looks like he’s just about had it with the Authority interruptions.
TYSON KIDD vs. ADAM ROSE
Erick Rowan wanders down in the middle of this surprisingly slow-paced match, stands in front of the announce booth and says “she’s not here”. He then leaves. Adam Rose and his Atkatsuki pants hit a spinebuster on Tyson. The bunny is on the top rope for some ridiculous reason, and Rose gets him down. He turns around and gets locked in the Sharpshooter for the submission.
Winner: TYSON KIDD
OHN CENA vs. RYBACK
The Authority (and team) is ringside, watching this match. Ryback throws him across the ring, and Cena bails to the outside. He tries for the AA but gets caught with an elbow and a powerslam. The Big Guy bullies him around the ring with ease, throwing John out of the ring right in front of Team Authority. Cena knocks him off the apron and Ryback crashes into Kane, which causes some heat between the two.
After a commercial, Cena tries for his top rope leg drop, but got crotched on the ropes and slammed to the mat. The slow pace keeps up with throws and suplexes and rest holds for another five minutes, with Cena on his back for most of it. He builds some momentum for a brief second with shoulder tackles, but gets caught with a running powerslam. The same exact thing happens again. After another five minutes of slaughter, Cena locks in the STF out of nowhere, but Ryback crawls to the bottom rope. Ryback launches off the top rope with a splash, but Cena rolls into an STF again. The Big Guy dead lifts him onto his shoulders for Shellshock, but Cena counters with a spin-out powerbomb. He knocks Kane off the apron, and runs into a spinebuster from Ryback. Kane hits the ring and attacks John Cena to cause the DQ.
Winner: John Cena (by DQ)
Kane and Ryback get in each others faces. Seth Rollins gets between them, and Ryback decks him to a big pop. Everyone starts to beat down on John Cena as the Authority takes out Ryback. Sheamus rushes the ring but the numbers game is too strong. Big Show is next (why are these people not together?), but he’s got bandaged ribs. Noble and Mercury get a KO Punch from the giant, but again the numbers are too much with Rusev and Henry beating down Show. Ryback comes back and takes out Seth Rollins and Rusev. He hits Shellshock on Kane, and is the only person standing tall in the ring. Ryback leaves them all laying and walks out on his own, as John Cena gives him a slow clap.
Stephanie and Hunter are backstage looking at the mess Ryback caused, when Dolph Ziggler‘s body – literally his entire body – comes flying out of nowhere. They turn around and Luke Harper is standing there. He says that he’s a “team player”, and the Authority just looks stunned to end the show.
