9/9 WWE Main Event Report

Michael Cole and Byron Saxton kick off Main Event and announce Seth Rollins vs. Roman Reigns for WWE Night of Champions later this month.
Seth Rollins comes down with his Money in the Bank briefcase. He says it’s time to play “Where Are They Now?” and brings up a graphic of The Shield together. Seth rolls footage of The Authority killing off Dean Ambrose last month, and says nobody knows where Dean is, and nobody cares. He then rolls footage of he and Kane attacking Roman Reigns last night on Raw, and talks about creating The Shield, and always hearing people talk about Reigns being the “future of the WWE”. Seth continues to rant about being the future, until he’s interrupted by Jack Swagger and Zeb Colter.
Colter talks about “great men” like George Washington, and says Seth Rollins’ name isn’t even on the list. He says Seth isn’t an Architect or a Real American, but he is a sell-out. It’s going to be Seth Rollins vs. Jack Swagger tonight.

Seth Rollins vs. Jack Swagger
Rollins gets thrown to the outside early and Swagger taunts him as they go to commercial. When the show come back, Seth is in control kicking down Jack in the corner. He locks in a few rest holds, taking down the pace for a few minutes. Eventually Swagger comes back with a few shoulder tackles and a belly-to-belly suplex, but Rollins hits him with a flash kick to the side of the head, for a two-count. Rollins starts beating down on him with punches and kicks to the back and head. Swagger locks in the Patriot Lock out of nowhere, but Seth gets to the ropes to break the hold. He tries for a dropkick, but Swagger catches him and once again puts on the Patriot Lock. The hold is on for about 20 seconds, but eventually he gets the ropebreak again. Rollins tries for a sunset flip, but Jack catches him and tackles his opponent into the corner. They fight up to the top rope and Swagger tries for a belly-to-belly, but Rollins tosses him down and comes off with a flying knee. Rollins with the Curb Stomp for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Seth Rollins
Backstage, Titus O’Neil has a whiteboard, and has outlined a “plan” to catch Adam Rose’s bunny. Heath Slater says it’s never going to work, but Titus says they’re going “Wabbit Hunting” tonight.
We get to watch a replay of the John Cena and Paul Heyman segment from WWE Raw last night.

Total Divas season three promo.
Cesaro vs. Zack Ryder
Total one-sided match from the start, with Cesaro beating down on Ryder, throwing him to the floor, and continuing the attack all around the ringside area. Ryder gets a brief bit of momentum with a clothesline, and the Broski Boot, followed by a splash over the ropes to the floor. Cesaro catches him coming off the ropes, and delivers a few seconds of the Cesaro Swing, but then transitions into…a reverse Texas Cloverleaf? Ryder taps out.
Winner: Cesaro
After the match, Renee Young asks Cesaro about his match against Sheamus at Night of Champions. He says he’s more interesting, better looking, and better in the ring than Sheamus could ever be, and everyone knows it. He declares victory at Night of Champions, and calls himself the King of Swing, and the King of Wrestling, AND the new United States Champion.

Adam Rose vs. Titus O’Neil
Titus completely wrecks his opponent for about three minutes, tossing him around the ring and hammering away with shoulder tackles and right hands. The bunny comes down to the ring after awhile and gets on the apron. Heath Slater crawls under the ring and comes out below the bunny, but gets hit with an enzuigiri from the bunny. Adam Rose rolls up Titus for the surprise victory.
Winner: Adam Rose
KILLAM: I can’t believe I just had to type out any of that.
Los Matadores vs. The Ascension
Yes, you read that correctly. The NXT Tag Team Champions are in the building! Viktor starts things off and slams Diego. Konnor tags in and they double team him with running shoulder blocks. Diego taunts the big man and drops him between the ropes, following up with a springboard senton splash. Konnor picks him up and slams him into their corner, tagging in his partner who goes to work with right hands. They alternate quickly with tags, keeping Diego on the mat. Konnor levels him with a huge clothesline for a two-count. Eventually Fernando makes the hot tag for Los Matadores and hits a big back body drop on Viktor, followed by a dropkick. He comes out of the corner with a big lariat, and climbs to the top rope, but Viktor dives out of the way and tags in the big man. They hit the Fall of Man for the win.
Winners: The Ascension
