9/30 WWE Main Event Report

Jack Swagger vs. Cesaro
Brief “We the People” promo backstage as Swagger and Zeb Colter come out. Swagger is in control immediately with loud chants behind him, but Cesaro puts him in a headlock and slows down the pace for several minutes. The headlocks and armbars continue with Zeb coaching from the sidelines, and Jack tries to fight back with elbows, but gets dumped over the ropes to the floor. Cesaro hits him with a double ax handle from the top ropes as we go to commercial; ad for Total Divas.

Cesaro hits another ax handle from the top turnbuckle as we come back. He hits yet another and picks up a two-count. He goes to the well a fourth time, but Swagger clocks him with a hard elbow and sends him flying with a top rope arm drag. Loud “We the People” chants as Swagger builds some momentum, hitting the Swagger Bomb for two. Cesaro with a dropkick, but he gets caught off the ropes with a side slam for another nearfall. Jack rolls into an ankle lock out of nowhere, but his opponent gets to the ropes. He tries for it again, but gets caught with an enzuigiri. Cesaro with an impressive deadlift spinebuster, followed by a sunset flip pin, but Swagger counters into the Patriot Lock. Cesaro crawls to the ropes but gets dragged back to the middle of the ring. He eventually does break the hold and Jack uses all of a 4-count before releasing the hold. The ref checks on him then fixes the ring apron, which had been pulled up, and Cesaro uses the moment to get an eye poke and a huge uppercut for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Cesaro

Backstage, Natalya and Tyson Kidd are arguing as per usual. Nattie wants Corporate Kane to book her husband in a match, but Tyson says he doesn’t need anyone’s help. Kane gets pissed and yells at them. He books Tyson in a match next, and makes a crack about reality stars.

Tyson Kidd vs. Kofi Kingston
Natalya is at ringside. No Big E or Xavier Woods, or even a mention of them.
Tyson gets the better of the first lock-up, and the two trade wrist locks until Kofi hits a dropkick. He rolls to the outside and Kofi looks to fly, but Tyson hides behind his wife and Kofi stops short. Back in the ring, Kidd clips the knee with a running chop block. He starts tossing his opponent off turnbuckles and going after him with a flurry of rights and lefts. Tyson with a running kick to the chest, and he hits a reverse STO into the bottom turnbuckle. He gets in the referee’s face and then yells at Natalya for not being a heel and getting involved. Kofi takes advantage and dropkicks Kidd, and follows up with a flying crossbody. Kofi hits a few more dropkicks and the Boom Drop. He sets up for Trouble in Paradise, but Kidd rolls out of the way and hits a swinging neckbreaker for a very close nearfall. Kofi gets the SOS for two as Kidd grabs the bottom rope. Kidd tries for the Sharpshooter – pausing to kick the hell out of his opponent first – and locks it in for the win.
Winner: Tyson Kidd
-Tyson completely ignores his wife and celebrates his win, so Natalya leaves him alone in the ring.

Backstage, Mark Henry says he’s had a rough couple of weeks, losing twice to Rusev. He says he had an emotional breakdown after his match last night, and shouldn’t have attacked Bo Dallas. That being said, tonight he’s gonna throw him like a dart, because that’s what he does.
Handicap Match
Layla & Summer Rae vs. Brie Bella
The two heels beat the heck out of Brie for a few minutes, tagging in and out and hitting about one move per person. Brie dropkicks Layla’s knees out and enters “Brie Mode”. She knocks Summer off the apron but is caught with a kick from Layla. Layla hits a second rope crossbody, but Brie rolls her up for the win.
Winner: Brie Bella
-Michael Cole rolls footage of Big Show pulling down the Russian flag on RAW last night. He reads the apology statement, and then announces Big Show vs. Rusev for RAW next Monday night. Roman Reigns will also have an “exclusive interview” about his injury.

Bo Dallas comes out and says that Mark Henry needs to take up a hobby, instead of taking out his frustration on him. He says that Henry obviously enjoys eating, so maybe he should take a cooking class, or try scrapbooking, or his favorite actively, Bo-lieving.
Bo Dallas vs. Mark Henry
Mark Henry beats the hell out Bo Dallas for about three minutes, throwing him all over the ring and into turnbuckles, until eventually the referee calls for the bell.
Winner by DQ: Bo Dallas
-The referee helps out Bo Dallas, and Mark Henry comes back to the ring and hits the World’s Strongest Slam. He turns to leave, but decides to hit it a second time. Henry grabs a microphone and says “that’s what I do”.
