Alberto Del Rio Discusses His WWE Departure, His Future in Wrestling, More

Alberto Del Rio held his press conference today in Mexico, discussing his departure from WWE and his future in wrestling. Here are the highlights, courtesy of LuchaBlog
* He is once again going by Alberto El Patron because WWE owns the “Del Rio” name.
* He was thinking about leaving WWE for a few months, as he was not happy and admits that he was losing his passion for wrestling.
* He is free to work in Mexico as soon as today, and can work in the US next month, He does not have a 90-day no compete clause.
* He claimed that he did everything there was to do in WWE so there was no more challenge.
* He is talking with AAA, CMLL and ELITE, but isn’t planning to work full time, only “a few dates” and will be talking with the promoters tomorrow.
* Lucha World notes that Alberto is already thinking about retiring. Alberto says that he wants to retire in two years, and is in talks to be a president of an MMA promotion.
* He’d like to return to and work Arena Mexico.
* He is only planning to work about 60 matches a year going forward.
* He doesn’t think he can work the Arena Mexico show his father will wrestle in, describing the situation as complicated.
* Paige was in attendance, but was not doing interviews.
