Smackdown Live Women’s Contract Signing
We go live to Birmingham where a loud “YES” chant is in progress. Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan is inside the ring. He talks about the Smackdown Women’s Championship being defended for the first time at No Mercy. Tonight we will have the first ever Smackdown Live women’s contract signing. Bryan said he plans to keep things civil tonight. The fans boo. Bryan tells them not to boo that.
WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is introduced. Lynch grabs a mic and says she has her thick skin on tonight and adds, “Come at me bro.”
Bryan introduces the challenger, Alexa Bliss. Footage is shown from last Tuesday when Bliss won a Fatal 5 Way match to become the new No. 1 Contender.
Bliss grabs a mic and brings up Lynch talking about her “thick skin.” She recommends moisturizer. Lynch said while Bliss prepares for a pageant she is preparing for a fight. Bliss said Lynch doesn’t fit the role as a champion. Becky said it fits quite nicely. Bliss said Lynch is the kind of girl that succeeds and then fails miserably. She said Lynch will lose her title and that Lynch was born to be a loser. Lynch agrees she wasn’t born to be a champion. A loud “BECKY” chant starts up. Lynch said she was born to live in a small house in Dublin and work a job she didn’t even like. She said she watches for too much TV and the TV said she could be anything she wanted to be and she wanted to be champion very bad. Lynch said she has poured her heart and soul into this so she can raise this title above her head. She said she wants this and wants it even more than Bliss does. Lynch said she will rip the head off Bliss if she plans to take this title away from her. “I fought to be a champion,” adds Lynch. Bliss said that was so inspirational…please. She said she was born to be a champion and at No Mercy she plans to take the title and expose Lynch for what she is: a one hit wonder. Bliss grabs the contract and hits Lynch with it. Bliss signs the contract and throws it at Lynch. She then tosses the table on top of Lynch and exits the ring. Lynch jumps out and goes after Bliss. Bliss gets free and runs to the back. Lynch returns to the ring, Bryan hands her the contract and she signs it. Becky holds up her title.
The title match between Lynch and Bliss goes down October 9 at No Mercy.
Backstage, we see The Usos heading to the arena. They take on American Alpha next.

Backstage, we see Daniel Bryan walking when WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz walks up with Maryse. Miz says “we have a problem.” Bryan said it can’t be about his new contract or his title defense. Miz said it is exactly about his title match. Bryan offers to cancel the match. Miz is pleased. Bryan said they can cancel the match and his contract. He wonders if Miz even looked at the contract. Bryan reminds him what it actually says. He said Miz is free to not defend his title tonight, but his contract will be canceled and it will make it pretty hard for Miz to go out there and do what he can’t do.
Footage is shown of The Usos attacking American Alpha two weeks ago.
A promo with American Alpha is shown from earlier tonight. Chad Gable said tonight they begin the new journey of becoming the Smackdown Tag Team Champions.
No. 1 Contendership Match
The Usos vs. American Alpha
We start with Chad Gable and Jimmy Uso. Gable with a big take down on Jimmy early. Gable with a takedown on Jey who jumps in. Gable with a quick suplex on Jimmy for a two count. Gable goes to work on the left leg of Jimmy and tags in Jason Jordan. Jordan drops a knee to the knee of Jimmy. We see a shot of Smackdown Tag Team Champions Heath Slater and Rhyno watching the match from the back. Gable tags himself in as Alpha both work over the legs of Jimmy. Double dropkicks on both Usos clearing house. Gable with forearms to the Usos on the ring apron. Jey hangs up the left leg/knee of Gable in the ropes. Jimmy with a jumping kick to the knee of Gable. Gable falls out screaming in pain.
-Commercial Break-
We return live as Jimmy drops a leg over Gable for a two count. Jimmy is working over the bad left knee of Gable. During the break we see Jimmy giving Gable a suplex into the ropes. Tag to Jey and Gable throws a big elbow knocking him off the ring apron. Gable sends Jimmy flying over the top rope. Gable is crawling for a hot tag to Jordan. Jey cuts it off. Gable gets back up and gets a tag to Jordan. Jordan with right hands to Jey along with a press slam. Jordan with a huge overhead release belly-to-belly on Jimmy. Jordan hits another on Jey. Jordan with a spear in the corner on both Usos. Jordan with a quick suplex on Jey for a two count. Jey with headbutts to Jordan in the corner. Tag to Jimmy. Jey with a superkick and Jimmy off the top with a splash. Jimmy hooks the leg and Gable breaks it up. Jey dumps Gable out of the ring through the ropes. Jordan with an overhead suplex on Jey blocking a superkick. Jimmy with a superkick on Jordan. Jordan bounces off the ropes and connects with a jumping clothesline. Jordan is crawling to make a tag. Gable pulls himself up to the corner. Gable’s knee gives out. Jordan says he has this. Jordan with a shot on Jey, roll up on Jimmy and gets a two count. Jimmy with a superkick to Jordan. Tag to Jey who chop blocks the knee of Gable. Double superkick by The Usos. Jey is going up to the top turnbuckle and comes down over Jordan connecting with a splash to get the pinfall.
Winners and new No. 1 Contenders: The Usos
The Usos will face Heath Slater and Rhyno at No Mercy for the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships. After the match, The Usos stare down American Alpha.
Backstage, Heath Slater and Rhyno are talking about facing The Usos at No Mercy. He said they beat them before and can beat them again. Slater wants to get the WWE Universe behind them. He suggests a RHY-NO chant like how The Usos used to do it. Rhyno isn’t a fan enjoying a plate of cheese and crackers. The Usos walk up saying they got lucky at Backlash. Jimmy is thinking about knocking those crackers off his plate. He suggest they hand over those titles right now. Jey gets in the face of Slater. Rhyno gets in Jey’s face. The Usos back off as Rhyno clutches one of the WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championships.
Randy Orton vs. Erick Rowan takes place later tonight.

Jack Swagger is at ringside on commentary for the next match.
Apollo Crews vs. Baron Corbin
Footage is shown from last week of Corbin attacking Crews before the match including an End of Days to Crews on the outside of the ring. Jack Swagger then confronted Corbin.
Crews with right hands to Corbin early and follows with a jumping big boot. Crews with a quick fallaway slam. Corbin quickly rolls out to recover. Crews with elbows to Corbin on the outside. Crews tosses Corbin back first into the ring barricade as the referee continues the count. Crews with a kick to the back of Corbin’s head. Crews tosses Corbin in for a two count. Corbin tosses Crews out and throws nasty looking forearms to the side of the head of Crews over the barricade. Corbin puts Crews against the steel ring posts and stomps away. Corbin with a dropkick to the ribs of Crews in the corner sending Crews into the ring post. Corbin with End of Days on Crews, hooks the leg and gets the pinfall.
Winner: Baron Corbin
After the match, Baron Corbin gets in the face of Jack Swagger at ringside. Corbin yells at Swagger that he should have stayed on RAW. Swagger stares down Corbin.
Backstage, we see a shot of Dean Ambrose warming up for the main event tonight. Ambrose will take on John Cena later tonight to headline the show.
The Miz defends the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Dolph Ziggler tonight.

Backstage, Nikki Bella and Naomi are walking and they are asked about facing Carmella and Natalya later tonight. Naomi said it is Glow Time here in the women’s division. She talks about Natalya no longer having respect among the women. Nikki talks about Carmella trying to make a name for herself. She calls her a bootleg and feeling rebooted.
Backstage, Renee Young is with Dolph Ziggler. Young asks him about his last shot at the Intercontinental Championship tonight. Ziggler said he has to give everything he has. He admits he hasn’t been winning lately, but this is Smackdown Live and anything can happen. Ziggler talks about Miz clinging to his title and how he is desperate to prove he still belongs here. He said he wasn’t supposed to be World Champion and he did it. Ziggler wants to shut Miz up once and for all and win the whole damn thing tonight.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (c) w/ Maryse vs. Dolph Ziggler
We get introductions for the challenger Dolph Ziggler and champion The Miz.
Ziggler with a single leg takedown early on Miz. Ziggler takes the back of Miz and Miz grabs the ropes to break it up. Ziggler with a waistlock takedown and Miz rolls out. Ziggler chases him down. Miz tries to drop an elbow and Ziggler avoids getting another rear naked choke attempt on Miz. Miz pulls himself out through the ropes. Ziggler catches Miz with a clothesline on the outside. Miz with a dropkick that sends Ziggler flying off the ring apron to the outside. Miz sends Ziggler shoulder first into the ring barricade. Miz tosses Ziggler back inside the ring, goes up top and catches Ziggler with a double axe handle off. Miz mocks Daniel Bryan connecting with kicks to the chest of Ziggler. Ziggler blocks a big kick and drops Miz with a big right hand. Miz side steps Ziggler sending him shoulder first into the corner steel ring post. Ziggler with elbows fighting off Miz. Ziggler with clotheslines and a corner splash on Miz. Miz then sends Ziggler shoulder first into the corner. Miz catches Ziggler with two corner dropkicks. Miz connects with his clothesline in the corner, tosses Ziggler aside and goes up to the top rope. Ziggler catches Miz with a dropkick on the way down. Ziggler with a spike DDT on Miz for a two count. Miz dumps Ziggler out.

We return live as Ziggler is attempting a superplex on Miz. Miz breaks it up. Miz attempts a sunset flip, but Ziggler hangs on. Miz is able to pull Ziggler off the corner, bounces him off the top rope and connects with a sitdown powerbomb for a two count. Ziggler counters a Figure Four attempt by Miz into a rear naked choke. Miz is able to get to the bottom rope to break it up and level Ziggler with a big boot. Ziggler with a Fameasser for a two count on Miz. Miz fights off a Zig Zag holding onto the ropes. Ziggler with an elbow to Miz. Maryse is walking up the steel steps and has hairspray in her hand. The referee sees it, cuts her off and sends Maryse to the back. Two roll up attempts by both. Both Miz and Ziggler kick out. Ziggler with a Zig Zag on Miz and Miz kicks out! Ziggler can’t believe it. Miz falls to the outside. He grabs the Intercontinental Championship and starts leaving. Ziggler cuts him off at ringside and tosses him shoulder first into the steel ring steps. Miz is still holding the title as Ziggler tosses him back in. The referee clears the ring of the title. While the referee is distracted, Miz sprays the hairspray in the face of Ziggler, tosses it out and hits the Skull Crushing Finale. Miz gets the pinfall on Ziggler to retain his title.

John Cena takes on Dean Ambrose later tonight.
We see a shot of Randy Orton. He takes on Erick Rowan next.

Randy Orton vs. Erick Rowan
Orton goes for an RKO early and Rowan counters with a spinning powerslam. Rowan with right hands and drops a series of elbows over Orton. Orton with kicks to Rowan from the corner. Rowan with a headbutt to Orton. Rowan catches Orton with a dropkick as Orton came off the ropes. Orton rolls out of the ring to regain his composure. Rowan sends Orton face first into the steel ring steps twice and then back inside the ring. Orton catches Rowan with a kick to the face through the ropes and then connects with his DDT off the ropes. Orton is firing up for the finish. Orton with an RKO and hooks the leg to get the win.
Winner: Randy Orton
After the match, the lights go off. When they come back on, a spotlight fills the ring and we can see Rowan’s mask sitting inside the ring. Bray Wyatt then shows up on the screen clapping adding, “Randy Orton ladies and gentleman. The Viper strikes again!” He said Orton still just remains a man and a man who can die at any moment. Wyatt said he is a God and a God can never die. Wyatt adds, “Run.”
Nikki Bella and Naomi vs. Natalya and Carmella is up next.

Nikki Bella and Naomi vs. Natalya and Carmella
We start with Nikki Bella and Natalya. Nikki with a quick shot to Natalya and a shot to Carmella who jumped in. Natalya with a forearm to Nikki and gets the Sharpshooter locked in. Carmella grabs Nikki by the hair and pulls her out of the ring. Carmella immediately throws Nikki into the ring barricade and stomps away as the referee calls for the bell.
Winners via DQ: Nikki Bella and Naomi
After the match, Naomi catches Natalya inside the ring with a big boot. Carmella continues attacking Nikki Bella when Naomi jumps out to chase her off. Carmella yells at Nikki Bella that this is not over. Naomi checks on Nikki at ringside.
Backstage, we see AJ Styles shining up the WWE World Championship. He is asked about the rivalry with John Cena and Dean Ambrose who face off tonight. Styles said he beat both of them and doesn’t have a rivalry at all with them. “I’m superior in every way,” adds Styles. He said the only reason they booked a triple threat is because he doesn’t have to be beat to lose his title. Styles said he plans to sit back and relax watching Cena and Ambrose beat each other up tonight.
John Cena’s music hits and he heads to the ring.

John Cena vs. Dean Ambrose
Headlock takedown early by Ambrose on Cena. Ambrose with a shoulder tackle on Cena. Cena with a shoulder tackle of his own. Ambrose fights off an early AA. Cena fights off an early Dirty Deeds. Cena with a headlock takedown of his own on Ambrose. Cena hits the corner ring post with force. Cena falls to the outside as we head to a break.
-Commercial Break-
We return live as Ambrose levels Cena with a jumping clothesline off the ropes. Ambrose is firing himself up catching Cena with a shot in the corner followed by a running bulldog. Cena counters a Dirty Deeds attempt into an STF. Ambrose crawls and gets the bottom rope. Ambrose dumps Cena out of the ring through the ropes. Ambrose with a suicide dive through the ropes catching Cena on the outside. Cena counters a cross body by Ambrose off the top rope catching him and connecting with an AA. Ambrose kicks out! Cena goes for another AAA and Ambrose counters with Dirty Deeds on Cena. Cena kicks out. Ambrose and Cena exchange shots. Cena has Ambrose back up. Ambrose counters into a roll up locking the wrist and gets the pinfall on Cena. Cena rolls out and can’t believe it.
Winner: Dean Ambrose
After the match, we see a shot of Ambrose celebrating and a shot of a surprised John Cena sitting on the outside of the ring. AJ Styles out of no where springboarding off the ring barricade and taking out Cena. Styles jumps inside the ring and connects with a Pele Kick to Ambrose. Styles yells this is his title and everyone knows it.
Smackdown General Manager Daniel Bryan walks out and says that was “phenomenal.” He brings up how last week Shane McMahon promised Ambrose a WWE World Championship rematch. Bryan reveals that happens next Tuesday on Smackdown Live. Ambrose is back in and connects with Dirty Deeds on Styles. Ambrose is fired up.
Ambrose stands over Styles and yells, “I will see you next week.” Smackdown Live comes to a close as Ambrose celebrates up on the corner.
