Alex Reyes, who was hired by WWE last October and was an announcer for the NXT brand, was released by WWE on Wednesday according to a report by PWInsider.com.
Reyes, real name Alex Del Barrio, was a lifelong wrestling fan and revealed in an interview on WWE.com that he had been sending demo materials to the company since 2004 while attending Boston University.
He spent time working with Booker T’s Reality of Wrestling promotion and in Lone Star Championship Wrestling prior to signing with WWE. Reyes seemed to confirm the reports with a simple thank you tweet today.
Reyes joins Rich Brennan and Kyle Edwards as recent announcer cuts by WWE.
