5/10 Impact Wresting Report:

Impact opens up with Pope and Josh discussing last week’s Impact and then we cut to a video package highlighting last week’s #1 Contenders 3-Way Dance.
Jeff Hardy comes to the ring and says that last week The Decay did him wrong but before he can say anything else the lights go out and The Decay appear on the stage.
Abyss says that he and Jeff had been to war with each other many times before but this thing isn’t personal and it is all about business. He says they actually like Jeff and that he would be a great addition to their family, but Jeff’s devotion to the “pathetic creatures” makes Jeff weak. Abyss says again that he is beautiful as Steve calls Jeff “weak” repeatedly. He says that Jeff’s “creatures” make him weak but Jeff says that they are dead wrong about his creatures.
Jeff says that the only way to “Decay” is to die and he is about to kill them. Rosemary laughs and says that Jeff doesn’t even realize that his “pretty little head” is a prize and it fetches a high price right now. Abyss admits that they were paid and says the person that paid them to take Jeff out will reveal themselves at the right time, but in the meantime Jeff should be more concerned about what The Decay is going to do to him tonight.
The Decay circles the ring but Jeff doesn’t allow them to attack as he attacks first! The numbers get the better of Jeff as Rosemary low blows Jeff. James Storm hits the ring and The Decay bails. Storm says that The Decay owes him a Tag Team Title rematch and last time he checked Jeff knows a little something about tag wrestling himself so tonight it’s going to be The Decay vs. Storm & Hardy! Abyss says that last week they destroyed Jeff for a “large prize” but tonight they will destroy them both for free.
Jeff says that he is a weatherman tonight and The Decay are in for a “Charismatic Storm.”

He tells Lashley to get his “arse” out to the ring right now and The Destroyer does not make him wait very long. Lashley asks Drew if he finally grew a set of balls and he asks if Drew finally respects him or if he is afraid of him.
Drew says that for such a big guy Lashley is like a ghost with all of his sneak attacks and disappearing acts whenever Drew calls him out. Drew says he knows Lashley is dangerous and the fact that he is a coward makes him ten times more dangerous. He looks Lashley in the eyes and tells him that he is not scared of him, but Lashley says that he should be scared that Lashley is the #1 Contender. Lashley tells Drew to ask Kurt Angle what happens when you face him and then asks Drew how his ribs are.
Lashley says that he is the only “real fighter” in TNA but says he respects that Drew is still standing after all the beatings he has laid on Drew. He says he will take that title off Drew’s hands but Drew says that Lashley plays mental games so he can physically destroy an opponent. Drew says he doesn’t play games and Lashley will never be able to break him. Drew says that Lashley is #1 Contender and they have a ring so why don’t they face each other for the title…NOW!
Lashley says that he is in Drew’s head just like he was in Kurt Angle’s head and if they faced each other right now he would whoop Drew’s ass in record time. Lashley says he couldn’t care less about the people but he does agree that they deserve a “prize fight” that they can look forward to. Lashley says he will give Drew a week and then he will take his title back. Lashley starts to walk away but Drew screams at him not to turn his back on him. Drew says that he told him he was going to fight tonight and he meant it.
Lashley says this is the same mistake that everyone makes and he tells Drew he is not the person he should be playing with. He tells Drew to go “play” with all of his minions in the crowd and in a week he taking his title back.
Eli Drake comes out and says that if Lashley doesn’t want to take his opportunity tonight then he will create an opportunity for himself. Drake says that things between he and Drew will never be open and when he came to TNA he came for gold. Drake starts talking about how he is going to win every title in TNA “even if I have to start doing jumping sunset sentons in the X-Division.” Drake challenges Drew to put his title on the line tonight against him and an annoyed Drew says that Eli picked the wrong night and the wrong guy. He says that he came here for a fight and he is having a bloody fight!
Drew attacks Drake and slams him into the guardrail.

He says that he needs nothing from EC3 so he has moved on, but EC3 says he understands what Bennett is saying but he knows Bennett also has an ego. He says that ego is rocket fuel in the wrestling business and he knows that because he has a massive ego too. Bennett says he has the ego the size of the sun but his ego is so big because he beat EC3 and his streak.
EC3 agrees but then says that Bennett also lost his chance at getting a shot at the title last week. He says that Bennett has two options. He says Bennett can stand there with his thumb up his butt or he can get in the ring with EC3 right here and now in a rematch! Maria says she knew EC3 would be relentless about this so she talked to Billy Corgan about this backstage at the Smashing Pumpkins concert. She says that Bennett gave Billy a great idea there.
Bennett says that EC3 said awhile ago that he and Bennett are similar and he was right because he knew that EC3 would go to every length to get a rematch because he would have done the same if EC3 had beaten him. Bennett says that the problem with EC3’s demons eat him up inside and he knows that because the minute he walked into TNA he saw those demons and EC3 began to spiral down. Bennett offers EC3 a chance at a rematch. He says that he will lay all of EC3’s demons from his past and if he gets past those demons he will get his rematch. EC3 agrees to the challenge without knowing exactly what it entails. Bennett says that tonight EC3’s road to redemption starts tonight in a Six Sides of Steel Cage Match!
