– It looks like WWE is currently interested in bringing former world champion and Royal Rumble winner Alberto Del Rio back to the company. Alberto Del Rio, or Alberto El Patron as of late, was released from the company last year after striking a WWE employee, Cody Barbierri, for making racist remarks. According to a report by PWInsider, there is purported interest from WWE to bring Alberto Del Rio back to the company.
Currently, it is unknown if either side have been in talks, but there is said to be “definite interest” on WWE’s side. The company has also talked about ways to use Del Rio on TV again. After his release, Alberto Del Rio was outspoken in his critiques of WWE staff using racist remarks directed at Latinos and African Americans in the company. It should be noted that the man who is documented as having made the remarks to Del Rio and was later hit by him, Barbierri, is no longer with the company. So whether Del Rio and certain officials in WWE could mend their fences remains to be seen.
On Alberto El Patron’s side, there have been recent reports that he would be returning to Lucha Underground for the show’s second season. Lucha Underground producer Chris DeJoseph also claimed that El Patron would be a part of the second season. However, El Patron later denied DeJoseph’s claim.
Opinoinated View- Oh for god's sake you have enough problems WWE you don't to bring back that freaking cure for insomnia.
