WWE reportedly had considered releasing longtime ring announcers Lilian Garcia and Tony Chimel in favor of cheaper announcers during their most recent talent cuts to save on budget.Garcia debuted for WWEon the August 23, 1999, episode of Raw is War and was a mainstay as lead ring announcer until a brief departure in 2009 before returning to ring announce on SmackDown in 2011.Chimel has been with WWE since 1991 as a ring technician, occasionally filling in for then ring announcer Howard Finkel before fully transitioning into full time ring announcing in 1999 on the interception of SmackDown. It would appear, at least for now both survived the cuts.
Opinionated View- They should should have cut Garcia a long time ago she is awful and always makes mistakes. Chimel is ok but not great.
