G1 Climax to kick off in the United States
The first night of New Japan’s G1 Climax will be kicking off in the United States.
F4WOnline reports that NJPW announced during today’s Wrestle Kingdom 13 event that the beginning of the G1 Climax tournament will start in Dallas, Texas on July 6 at at the American Airlines Center, joining other events in the U.S. this year.
As previously reported, New Japan will be holding live events in Los Angeles on January 30 and in Charlotte on February 1. A third event was recently announced for February 3 in Nashville as part of the New Beginning USA tour in 2019.
Opinionated View- Running the Dome back to back is a big risk. Part of what's helped the 1/4 attendance grow again has been the fact they only run Dome on 1/4 after years of doing several shows at the dome. And they will need two very strong cards. Starting the G1 in the US is an interesting idea hopefully it will draw well.
