Billy Corgan’s lawsuit against TNA, Impact Ventures LLC, Dixie Carter, Dean Broadhead and Serg Salinas appears to have been delayed to next week in order to allow the defendants more time to prepare their response to the suit. The judge in the case has ruled that the defendants have until 10 AM on October 24th to file any “opposition to issuance of a temporary injunction,” with Corgan having until October 25th at 3 PM to respond to the opposition.
The temporary restraining order granted in the suit will stay on until the October 26th hearing, where no oral arguments will be heard. The decision on the injunction will be made entirely based on affidavits and responses to discovery. The site has confirmed that there were seven exhibits filed by Corgan’s team on October 12th to support the lawsuit.
A teleconference is set for tomorrow at 11:30 AM ET between all parties regarding whether the lawsuit will remain sealed. According to the site, the lawsuit was sealed at Corgan’s request because material in the suit features “necessary references to proprietary documents and information.” That is one of three criteria for a lawsuit being sealed in Tennessee; the other two are that the suit “involves private litigants” and “the disclosure is not necessary to communicating on the public record the outcome and the reason for that outcome.”
