10/11 WWE Smackdown Report

A video package runs highlighting No Mercy on Sunday including Dolph Ziggler defeating The Miz to become the new WWE Intercontinental Champion and AJ Styles defeating John Cena and Dean Ambrose to retain the WWE World Championship.
We go live inside the SAP Center in San Jose.
The new WWE Intercontinental Champion, Dolph Ziggler, is out first to kick off the show. Ziggler grabs a mic as he gets a big reaction from the audience in San Jose. A “YOU DESERVE IT” chant breaks out. Ziggler holds up the title and says we did it. He talks about letting his emotions get the better of him in recent weeks, but didn’t know if he was going to be here tonight for Smackdown Live. Ziggler said if you don’t believe him you can check the preview button on the guide for this very show. He didn’t know if Sunday at No Mercy was going to be the last time for him in WWE. Ziggler said he thought maybe he made a mistake putting it all on the line. “I did have to do this.” He said he knew this is where he belongs. “This is my home. And no matter what, at No Mercy, The Miz, Maryse, The Spirit Squad, hell was going to freeze over, but I was walking out your Intercontinental champion.”
The Miz walks out with Maryse to interrupt. Miz and Maryse are all dressed in black. Miz grabs a mic, stands by Maryse and bows his head with her. Ziggler asks if they plan to say something. Miz cuts him off and wants to mourn the death of the Intercontinental championship. “Are you happy? Is everybody happy?” He said Sunday ended the prestige of the Intercontinental championship and how he did that all on his own. Miz said Ziggler’s victory is a funeral for the history of that title. He said we have not reached the end of the story. “This is just act two.” Miz said Ziggler as champion is a temporary layover and that a final act is coming where the hero gets the girl. He said he already has the girl and he is going to be getting his title back.
Ziggler said he has something to say tonight. He has video play from Sunday night where Ziggler got the pinfall victory over Miz including a shot of a very upset Miz. Ziggler asks Miz if he was crying and asks if he plants to cry right now. Miz asks Ziggler if he thinks this is funny. He said that face he made on Sunday was feeling everything getting ripped away from him. The crowd starts up a “YOU WERE CRYING” chant. Miz cuts off Ziggler and talks about taking his very, very seriously. He tells Ziggler to imagine what he will do to get it back if he worked as hard as he did to keep him. “I’m not done with you. And neither are they.”
The Spirit Squad (Mikey and Kenny) come out and are ready for a handicap match.
Handicap Match
WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler vs. The Spirit Squad
Mikey starts things off with Ziggler catching him with a kick to the face. Ziggler quickly dumps Mikey out of the ring. Kenny avoids a dropkick and clotheslines Kenny over the top rope. The Miz and Maryse take a seat at ringside as we head to a break.
We get a split screen with the action continuing inside the ring with commercials on the right side (no audio from the match). Miz distracts Ziggler at ringside as Kenny gets in a shot and drops an elbow over Ziggler on the ring apron. Kenny with a stomp over the face of Ziggler. Tag to Mikey who tosses Ziggler tot he corner. Ziggler catches him with an elbow and dropkick combo. Tag back to Kenny after Mikey pushes Ziggler to the corner. Kenny with a quick suplex on Ziggler and jumps into a headlock.
Commercial break concludes as the action continues. Kenny still has Ziggler in a headlock. Kenny levels Ziggler with a quick lariat and tags in Mikey. Kenny keeps Ziggler down and tags in Mikey. Kenny was favoring his ribs after that clothesline shot. Ziggler gets a sleeper on Mikey. Mikey breaks it up sending Ziggler to the corner. Ziggler trips up Kenny and drops him down face first on the ring apron. Ziggler with a roll up on Mikey, but Kenny got the tag to break it up. Ziggler counters both Mikey and Kenny hitting a double DDT. Ziggler with a splash in the corner and repeated clotheslines on Kenny. Mikey with a shot on Ziggler setting up a jumping clothesline by Kenny for a two count. Ziggler counters out of a powerbomb attempt and then catches Kenny with a superkick to get the pinfall.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler
After the match, The Miz immediately attacks Dolph Ziggler and hits a Skull Crushing Finale. JBL reminds us that Miz gets a mandatory rematch for the Intercontinental championship. Miz tells Mikey and Kenny to grab Ziggler when Heath Slater and Rhyno hit the ring to make the save. Miz, Mikey and Kenny all bail. Slater and Rhyno help Ziggler up.
Becky Lynch defending the WWE Smackdown Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss on November 8 when Smackdown Live is in Glasgow, Scotland is promoted.
Randy Orton and Kane take on Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper later tonight.
Shane McMahon and Daniel Bryan have an announcement about the upcoming Survivor Series PPV on November 20 in Toronto up next.

A video package airs with highlights from The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler on Sunday at No Mercy with footage spliced in from the new WWE 2K17 video game.
Backstage, Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon talk about the 30th annual Survivor Series coming up on November 20. They propose three 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series elimination matches with Smackdown Live stars vs. RAW stars. This would include the 5 best singles stars, the 5 best tag teams and the 5 best women from both brands.
Carmella is out next. Earlier today, Renee Young talked with Nikki Bella about Total Bellas. Nikki talked about beating Carmella at No Mercy. Carmella attacks Nikki and said one of these days her career is going to come falling down.
Carmella vs. Naomi
Carmella attacks Naomi before the match officially begins. The referee pulls Carmella off of Naomi. We see a shot of Naomi trying to recover as we head to a break.
-Commercial Break-
We return live as Carmella has a headlock on Naomi. A shot of Alexa Bliss watching backstage is shown. Carmella kicks Noami away in the corner. Naomi with a split legged jawbreaker on Carmella. Naomi with jumping body kicks to Carmella and finishes her off with a kick to the head. Naomi sends Carmella head first into the second turnbuckle, goes up top and catches Carmella with a flying cross body for a two count. Carmella wraps Naomi up on the second rope in the corner and then slams her down on her neck. Carmella is pulling Naomi out from the corner as we see a shot of Nikki Bella walking down the ramp. WWE officials are holding Nikki back. Naomi with a roll up on Carmella to get the win.
Winner: Naomi
After the match, Nikki Bella hits the ring and chases Carmella. Carmella bails. Nikki jumps out and chases Carmella back inside the ring. Nikki gets the feet of Carmella. Carmella breaks free, jumps over the ring barricade and runs to the back. Nikki Bella jumps back in the ring and hugs Naomi. They both celebrate with the fans.
Backstage, we get word from Alexa Bliss. She talks about being surprised about having to face Naomi at No Mercy instead of Alexa Bliss for the Smackdown Women’s Championship. Bliss said she could beat Noami any day of the week. Daniel Bryan walks up to interrupt. He proposes she face Naomi next week on Smackdown Live.
WWE World Champion AJ Styles will hold a victory speech will take place tonight.

A clip from the season premiere of “Total Bellas” was shown.
Jimmy Uso w/ Jey Uso vs. Chad Gable w/ Jason Jordan
Gable with a takedown early on Jimmy and goes after the left arm. Gable with another takedown working over the left arm of Jimmy. Jimmy catches Gable with a boot to the gut and follows with a samoan drop. Jimmy with a headlock on Gable. Gable pulls Jimmy over the top rope in a head scissors. Back in the ring, Gable with right hands to Jimmy in the corner. Jimmy slides out and then catches Jimmy with a springboard clothesline. Gable with an exploder suplex on Jimmy. Gable with an armbar on the left arm of Jimmy over the ropes. Jimmy fights off, Gable leaps over Jimmy, Jimmy with a roll up, Jey slides his legs in pushing up the back of Jimmy and Jimmy gets the pinfall without the referee seeing.
Winner: Jimmy Uso
Backstage, we see Mojo Rawley warming up when Zack Ryder walks up. Ryder said the Smackdown Live tag team division is stacked. Rawley said this is why they have been putting in the work. He asked where Ryder was last night. Rawley said he had a bunch of girls and accused Ryder of staying in his hotel playing with action figures. The Ascension walks up. Rawley accuses them of watching him change. The Ascension walks off.
Randy Orton and Kane vs. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper is set for later tonight.
AJ Styles gives his victory speech up next.

AJ Styles Victory Speech
WWE World Champion AJ Styles heads to the ring and grabs a mic. “The champ…is…here!” Styles says that has a nice ring to it. He talks about beating Dean Ambrose and John Cena. “I beat John Cena and Dean Ambrose at the same time at No Mercy. I mean that’s just not great. That’s phenomenal.” Styles tells the fans to cheer for him and calls them losers. He said he has only room for one on this bandwagon and suggests the fans cheer for Cena. Styles said you can’t do that because he’s out busy trying to be Kelly Ripa’s co-host. He then suggests they cheer for Dean Ambrose. Styles wonders why the fans would cheer for that “lunatic loser.” He reminds everyone he beat Cena and Ambrose again and brings up how some people may not exactly like how it went down. “I am a winner and winners find a way to win.” Styles reminds everyone again how he beat Cena and Ambrose at the same time. He said most champions would take a year off, maybe a month or even the night. Styles said he knows Smackdown is the land of opportunity and wants to give someone an opportunity tonight. He introduces his opponent for tonight live on Smackdown.
Dean Ambrose walks out instead. Styles says he wasn’t referring to Ambrose when he said he had a main event star ready to face tonight. Ambrose says Styles doesn’t want any part of him. Styles says everyone knows that two men can’t beat another making him tap out in a triple threat match. Ambrose said no one on this roster is jumping him in the line. Styles says that is fine because this guy isn’t currently on the roster.
James Ellsworth walks out. Styles puts his arm around Ellsworth introducing him. Ambrose touches Ellsworth and Styles tells Ambrose not to touch him. Styles talks about Ellsworth getting attacked by The Miz a few weeks ago and not getting a fair shot. He says Ellsworth will face him tonight in a non-title match and tells Ambrose to beat it. Ambrose says he has to be honest: he wants to see this and refers to him as Ellsworth 3:16 and how if you have two fists up, you have a fighting chance. He wants to take a seat at ringside and Styles tells him to head to the back so he doesn’t distract Ellsworth.
General Manager Daniel Bryan walks out to interrupt. He talks about being a huge James Ellsworth fan. Bryan books the match for right now, but adds that Dean Ambrose won’t be at ringside. He said that’s because Ambrose is going to be the special guest referee. Ambrose takes the shirt off the referee in the match and puts it on. Bryan reminds Styles that if he puts his hands on the official, he will be fined or suspended. Ambrose starts tucking in his referee shirt and starts handing items out of his pocket to Styles.
Non-Title Match
Special Guest Referee: Dean Ambrose
WWE World Champion AJ Styles vs. James Ellsworth
The bell rings and referee Dean Ambrose checks on both Styles and Ellsworth.
We head to a commercial break, but get another split screen as we continue to see the action taking place in the ring. Ambrose keeps getting in the way of lock up attempts by Styles and Ellsworth. Lock up and Styles pushes Ellsworth to the corner. Ambrose grabs both and pulls them apart in the middle of the ring. Ambrose is giving Ellsworth pointers about an arm drag. Ambrose distracts Styles and Ellsworth with an arm drag on Styles!
We return officially with commentary as Styles gets in a shot on Ellsworth in the corner. Lock up and Styles with elbows to Ellsworth in the corner. Styles with kicks to Ellsworth. Ambrose prevents a closed fist shot by Styles. Ellsworth returns with a shot of his own. Ellsworth bails, Styles chases, they get back in the ring and Ambrose trips up Styles. Ellsworth with a roll up for a two count. Styles with a clothesline that levels Ellsworth. Styles with a quick suplex on Ellsworth. Styles with a backbreaker on Ellsworth. Ellsworth pushes Styles to the corner. Styles rolls Ellsworth up into the Calf Crusher. Ambrose pretends to take a phone call on his smartphone as Ellsworth starts tapping. Styles breaks the hold and gets in the face of Ambrose asking what he’s doing. Styles tosses Ellsworth out of the ring. Ambrose tells Styles that Ellsworth is a child. Styles adds, “He’s not a child. He’s a grown man!” Styles goes to the outside with Ellsworth. Ambrose starts a fast count and Styles barely gets Ellsworth and himself back inside the ring to break the count. Styles again tosses Ellsworth out of the ring. Ambrose tosses him back inside the ring, goes to sign an autograph at ringside and then take a selfie when Ambrose tears up the poster yelling at Ambrose. Styles with a Styles Clash on Ellsworth. Ambrose gets to two and stops the pinfall. Styles gets up and Ambrose connects with Dirty Deeds. Both Ellsworth and Styles are down. Ambrose drags Ellsworth on top of Styles, starts counting the pinfall and Styles gets a shoulder up after two. Ambrose grabs a drink at ringside, returns to the ring and hits another Dirty Deeds on Styles. Ambrose puts Ellsworth on top of Styles and counts the pinfall!
Winner: James Ellsworth
After the match, Dean Ambrose drags James Ellsworth out of the ring and holds up his arm in victory. Ellsworth collapses on the ramp as we see a shot of AJ Styles just starting to recover inside the ring. Ellsworth is still collapsed and tired on the ramp.
Backstage, Randy Orton comes across Kane. He asks Kane if he wants to come along for the ride tonight against Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. Kane says he is in.
A video package runs hyping the 30th anniversary of the Royal Rumble this January.
-Commercial Break-
Backstage, AJ Styles is yelling at Daniel Bryan and Shane McMahon. Shane reminds Styles that he is the one that wanted the match in the first place. He said it is now official: AJ Styles lost to James Ellsworth. Styles is upset and says he has to take things into his own hands. Styles leaves and Bryan tells Shane he has an idea for Ellsworth next week.
-Commercial Break-
Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper head to the ring. Harper has a mic. “This world has put me to sleep. But now I am wide awake and I have seen the light.” Wyatt takes the mic. “And that light is shining brighter than it ever has.” He said a black hole consumes everything near it, but from this black hole comes the creatures of dominance. Wyatt tells Orton to bring on his monster because he brought his. He falls to his knees laughing.
-Commercial Break-
Randy Orton and Kane vs. Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
We start with Kane and Luke Harper. Harper with a few shots on Kane and tag to Bray Wyatt. Wyatt right hands to Kane. Kane throws Wyatt to the corner and gets in some rights of his own. Wyatt with a kick to Kane from the corner, but eats a big boot from Kane. Wyatt rolls out and Randy Orton kicks him then sends him back inside the ring. Kane goes for a chokeslam early. Wyatt counters out and bails to the outside taking a seat.
-Commercial Break-
We return live as Orton hits a superplex on Harper off the top rope! Tag to Kane who drops Harper with a shoulder tackle, splash in the corner twice and then a side slam for a two count. Kane with a kick to the face of Harper and then grabs Wyatt by the throat. Kane also grabs Harper by the throat. Wyatt jumps down and Harper hits a dropkick on Kane! Kane rolls to the outside and Wyatt sends him face first into the ring. Wyatt then tosses Kane into the ring barricade at ringside. Wyatt tosses Kane back inside the ring, gets the tag and connects with a running senton splash over Kane for a two count. Tag to Harper as Wyatt holds the arms of Kane setting up a kick to the gut by Harper. Harper with stomps to Kane in the corner and tags Wyatt back in. Wyatt with knees and stomps to Kane. Tag to Harper who gets in a slap uppercut to Kane. Kane with a jumping DDT on Harper. Tags to Orton and Wyatt. Orton with clotheslines to Wyatt. Orton with a snap powerslam on Wyatt. Orton with a Lou Thesz Press on Wyatt with right hands. Wyatt pulls Orton out of the ring, Orton with rights, an uppercut and sends Wyatt face first off the announce table. Orton tosses a charging Harper over the announce table and clotheslines Wyatt on the outside. Orton sends Wyatt into the ring barricade and then the steel steps. Orton tosses Wyatt back inside. Wyatt charges, Orton side steps him, Wyatt is on the ring apron and Orton pulls him in hitting his DDT off the ropes. Orton is firing up for an RKO. Kane prevents Harper from interfering. Harper is back in as Kane returns to his corner. Harper with a superkick on Orton with the referee distracted. Wyatt misses a senton splash when Orton moves. Orton is trying to tag in Kane when the lights go out. When they return, Harper is now standing where Kane was and Kane is gone. Wyatt with Sister Abigail on Orton for the pinfall.
Winners: Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper
After the match, Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper celebrate on the ramp to close the show.
