Bobby Lashley Wins Again at Bellator 162

Former TNA Champion Bobby Lashley (15-2) picked up his eighth MMA win in a row last night at Bellator 162 in Memphis earning a second round victory over Josh Appelt in a co-main event heavyweight fight. This was Lashley’s fifth win for Bellator.

Lashley earned a submission win over Appelt in the second round (1:43) via rear naked choke. He dominated the first round of the fight landing a series of punches and elbows that saw Lashley outland Appelt 58-0 during the opening five minutes of the fight.

Opinionated View- As I said last night it seemed Appelt had nothing for Lashley. It was pretty clear it was another case of Bellator booking a clear can crushing. I just hope Lashley's next fight is something big a real test. Remember the guy is not really young it's not like he has years and years. Now right now the Bellator heavyweight title is vacant the promotion hasn't made it clear how a new champion will be cronwed. But I think the fact he's 5-0 and finished everyone he's faced in the Bellator cage means Lashley should get a title shot or at the very least be in the tournament. And in a nice post fight moment Lashley mentioned wanting Eddie Edwards and the play by play man mentioned Eddie had beat him.
