Tom Phillips welcomes to NXT and hypes Bobby Roode's debut.
The returning Hideo Itami makes his long-awaited return and heads to the ring for his first match back. Hideo Itami vs. Sean MalutaNice to see some CWC competitors in the ring and at ringside as they make an influx into NXT. Side headlock takeover from Itami and follows it up with a high knee and another knee strike to take down Maluta. Itami has been working on his tan it seems. Hideo fakes a knee drop and just swipes Maluta with the side of his boot. Maluta hits a codebreaker of sorts from the middle rope and covers for a two. Maluta locks up Itami with a body scissors in the middle of the ring as the crowd cheers him on. Hideo uses elbow to fight out. Maluta with a series of kicks that just seem to fire up Itami. Dragon Screw takes down Maluga and hits a big boot in the corner. After a litany of strikes, Itami lines up his running knee and it connects. Itami gets the three count for the win. Winner via Pinfall: Hideo Itami We take a look back from two weeks ago as the Authors of Pain attacking and defeating American Alpha. Backstage with Andrea D'Marco with The Revival. They say they are the best tag team on the planet, but TM-61 shows up and says the planet is a pretty big place and say they've beaten the best tag teams around the world. Gargano and Ciampa chime in with their service bell and say they have the number one ticket. Mojo Rawley vs. Chris AtkinsAtkins is a big dude with a good look, but that doesn't matter tonight. Mojo hits a big side tackle and covers Atkins for the one, two, and Samoa Joe! Joe comes in and throws Atkins out of the ring. Joe takes Rawley out and grabs a mic and says he gets to take over Mr. Regal's NXT without consulting him because he wasn't consulted about the NXT Championship match vs. Nakamura. Rawley attacks Joe but it wasn't the best decision he's ever made. Joe takes him out again and applies the Coquina Clutch as officials come out to separate them. No Contest--Interference Backstage with Bayley and she says she isn't the same person without her title and vows to get it back. Asuka comes in and essentially tells Bayley to watch her match. As we return from break, Bayley takes a seat at the commentary desk. Asuka vs. AliyahAliyah dropping the princess gimmick she had in her debut and on Breaking Ground and has a great new look. Asuka out to a nice pop as per usual. Bayley not looking or sounding extremely comfortable on commentary. As I say that, Asuka brings a chair to ringside and invites Bayley to have an even closer look. Bayley throws the chair away and stands at ringside. Match begins with Asuka delivering some stiff kicks to Aliyah. Aliyah showing some fight with some punches and forearms of her own. That is quickly squashed with a running hip attack from Asuka. Crowd not sure how to react to a more heelish Asuka. Another hip attack to the back this time and Aliyah bounces off the ropes. Aliyah gets the boot up and goes for a flying maneuver. Aliyah met with a big kick to the side of the head. Asuka covers but lifts Aliyah up before getting what would be an obvious three count. Asuka then locks in the Asuka Lock and Aliyah taps immediately. Asuka keeps the hold in long after the bell, but Bayley comes in and makes the save.Winner via Submission: Asuka Oney Lorkin backstage talking about his win over Tye Dillinger a few weeks ago. If he wants to hang with NXT's best, he says he has to go back to his roots. We get a vignette for Ember Moon. The former Athena debuts August 20th. Bobby Roode enters with his "Glorious" theme song to a big pop. What a fantastic theme for his gimmick. He says the wait is over and that Bobby Roode is NXT. Says he knew NXT was the place for him after being at NXT Dallas. He's being a bit too nice with the crowd. I feel a bit of a swerve coming. Roode says he will NXT to the next level and that we all need Bobby Roode. Roode says his name and face will be all over billboards, commercials, and says he will make NXT a better place. He claims to bring presidents, vice-presidents, and business leaders into the NXT crowds, and will replace all of the losers in the NXT crowd right now. Roode says he's a superstar from head to toe, the way he looks, dresses, and that no one is more glorious than Bobby Roode. He says this is the new NXT, and he's at the helm. Contract signing announced for next week for the NXT Women's Championship with Asuka and Bayley. TM-61 vs. The RevivalInteresting that the "yea" is getting over in Dash and Dawson's theme. But then again almost anything gets over at Full Sail. A little mat wrestling to get us started. Dawson rolls under the ring to regroup. Quick tags from TM-61 to maintain control. Combo standing moonsault and fist drop from TM-61. Dawson's selling is very underrated. Thorne taken down and Dawson makes the tag. Dash Wilder with big chops and punches and quickly tags in Dash. Action breaks down as all 4 get in the ring and TM-61 lands tandem back body drops as we head to break. Back from break and really like that Phillips and Grave explaining the logic behind Revival's strategies. Wilder slows the pace down with a variety of submissions. Dawson back in and my goodness what a drop kick right to the face of Thorne. No wasted motion from Dawson. Big back elbow off the Irish Whip from Dawson and makes the tag. Dash goes for a dive but is met by the boots of Thorne and is shot to the corner. Both men make the tag and Miller with shoulder tackles, power slams, and suplexes. He finishes off the sequence with a huge spine buster. The action gets a bit hairy as TM-61 chases down Wilder into the ring, but is met with a trap. Dawson lands a quick and efficient DDT for the three. Great to see a straight DDT get a pin. Winners via Pinfall: The Revival The Revival say they've beaten all the big tag teams. Gargano and Ciampa come out and mistake them for Arn and Ole Anderson. They list off a couple of the tag teams that The Revival has beaten. The list includes some Pokemon, Muppets, and the Hollywood Blondes. Crowd loving Ciampa and Gargano. Dawson says their belts are worth more than their words. Revival goes for a sneak attack but Ciampa and Gargano see it coming. They take out the champs with their finisher and Ciampa counts to three as Gargano makes a mock cover. They celebrate with the belts as we go off the air.
