PBP: Thatcher gets a great reaction coming out, so hopefully the people King of the Indies keep that in mind. End goes for some kicks, but Thatcher ducks and dodges. Some aggressive grappling to begin. Thatcher goes for that cross armbreaker again but settles for a cover. Another kick whiffs. Lock-up goes to the ropes and they break clean. Thatcher grabs a headlock. To the mat as they exchange holds. Kneebar by Thatcher. Thatcher applies a half crab. End goes for a series of blows to the head, so Thatcher heads to the corner. Judo throw by Thatcher and into the armbar. Hammerlock. End locks in a triangle choke. Thatcher out nonetheless. Body scissors into a cross armbreaker by End. Thatcher applies an anklelock. Now they’re just hurting each other. Slaps. Kimura. End gets to the bottom rope. End begins going for his lethal kicks. Leg kicks. Thatcher catches his leg and goes for the kimura. End rolls into the cross armbreaker. Thatcher brings End over into the armbar. End with a front facelock. End finally gets a kick in. End heads to the corner as Thatcher breathes heavily. Thatcher takes him down with the arm. Headscissors blocked. End slaps Thatcher. Front chancery. Into the ropes. Strikes by Thatcher. End responds. Kick to the head! Oh my God. That was an amazing sequence. Referee begins counting Thatcher out. End with more slaps. Whip in the corner. Shoulder block/uppercut sends End to the floor. Chris Hero yells at Thatcher. The two opponents shake hands. Hero breaks it up and yells at Thatcher. Thatcher walks out on Hero and gives a little bump.
Drew Gulak vs. TJ Perkins (w/So Cal Val)
PBP: Ugggggggh, why are they have this match follow Thatcher and End? Break the grappling matches up, especially given there’s basically three of them tonight. Gulak charges and strikes hard at Perkins. Good move. Perkins fires back. Gulak applies a hard headlock. Backslide by Perkins for two. Monkey flip. Gulak with one of his own. Perkins with a high armbar. Gulak applies…the Chikara special? That gets no reaction. Perkins counters into an octopus. Gulak stretch muffler. Perkins puts on the breaks and drops down. Strike and kick. A second one blocked. Gulak drops Perkins’s knee into the middle rope. Gulak goes to work on the leg. Perkins reverses into a hammerlock. Break in the corner. Gulak headbutt out of the corner. Elbow. Perkins catches Gulak with a kick. Shoulder first into the middle turnbuckle. Armwringer into the cross armbreaker. Perkins maintains the hold. Gulak cannot get to the ropes, nearly gets three, but gets tossed over. Perkins slips out of a lateral press and hooks an armbar. Abdominal stretch. Perkins into the cover for two. Page says the fans should be booing him for losing two matches in a row. He puts over Johnny Gargano and says he wants to be just like the Open the Freedom Gate Champion. Page apologizes. Johnny Gargano comes out. Gargano tells Page to shut up and says he believes in Page. Gargano says Page belongs in Evolve. Gargano puts himself over and discusses the Galloway contest.\
Chris Hero vs. Biff Busick
PBP: I would argue this is one of the better built matches in Evolve’s history. Should say a lot about Evolve. Chop exchange to start as they seemingly test each other’s manhood. Big boot from Hero. Back to the chops they go. Busick hits an uppercut. Hero elbow. Open hand strike. Boot to the face. Low kick to the side of the head. Cravat. Shoulder block. Hero with another boot sends Busick down. Busick catches the leg. Hero kicks him away. Forearm misses. Stalemate. They face-off. Hero finally connects on a thudding forearm. Busick wants more. Hero connects, but Busick just gets mad. Straight jab to the head. Saito suplex. To the outside. Hard foream by Hero. Referee checks on Busick. Hero continually boots Busick to insure he can’t back in the ring. Busick has the half nelson blocked. German suplex is not. Hero is dazed. Forearm in the corner. Series of them now. Another hard forearm. Busick is down. Referee begins counting Busick out. Hero hits a back suplex. Hero hits a charging forearm. Running neckbeaker by Busick. A second one. Running European uppercut as Hero is on the outside. Busick runs around the other way and hits another one. Busick does a third uppercut. That was awesome. Busick doesn’t run but hits the uppercut. Back into the ring. Rear naked choke. Hero gets a jack knife pin. Big boot. Busick half nelsons Hero back in the ring and applies the rear naked choke. To the ropes. Hero rolls to the outside. Busick with a dive. Rear naked choke. Hero rams his opponent into the guardails. Into the apron but Busick maintains the hold. Finally, the pole gets the job done…nope. Busick gets it again. Back in the ring. Busick doesn’t have it on well. Hero smashes Busick backward. Piledriver. 1-2-NO! Interesting to note Hero won with that move back at Evolve 38 against Gulak. Hero with taunting slaps. Shot to the back. More slaps. Neckbreaker reversed into a half nelson suplex. Busick hits a second one. LARIAT! 1-2-NO! Hero holds onto the bottom rope. Hero won’t leg go. Busick forearms the back. Hero placed on the top rope. Hero back elbows Busick off. Busick slap. Headbutts from Busick. Half nelson suplex hits. 1-2-NO! Hero with a rolling forearm. Busick no sells. Sakatoshi. Busick tries the throw. Hero wristlocks out. Elbow to the back of the head. 1-2-NO! Hard forearm. No cover. Forearm. 1-NO! Busick rises up. Hero clocks him. Tombstone piledriver. 1-2-3!
DGUSA Champion Johnny Gargano & Rich Swann vs. The Premier Athlete Brand of Caleb Konley & Brian Cage (w/So Cal Val)
PBP: Konley and Swann start against each other as they did last night. Swann is pretty much the most over person on the roster at this point because of the singing. Worm by Swann. Konley brings him over with a side headlock. Solid heel move there. Headscissors. Konley headlock. Headlock. Konley snapmare into the sunset flip for two. Lock-up and Konley wrings the arm. Swann goes up and down. More dancing. Series of ducks and dives. Swann dropkicks Konley in the back of the head. Gargano tagged in. Now Gargano dances. Chop by Konley. Dropkick from the champion. Tag to Swann. Boot by Gargano. Swann scisssors kick. Cage runs in and gets double teamed by Ronin. Out of the ring after headscissors. Konley brings Gargano to the other corner. Gargano counters with a drop toe hold. Cage drives Gargano into the corner. Swinging flatliner by Gargano. Cage drives Swann down. Oh no. Well, let’s hope this heat segment doesn’t go as well. Swann kicks Cage. Leaping dropkick. To the top rope. Cage catches him in a suplex. Jackhammer. Heat segment. Hip toss but Swann hits a kick to the shoulder. Lethal Injection blocked. Hot tag. Gargano with a clothesline and Polish Hammer on Konley. Roll through and the kick by the champion. Cage catches Gargano. DVD into the knees of Konley. Double heat segment? And we were doing so well. Gordbuster by Cage and a choke. WWE chinlock. Gargano grabs the rope. Andrea stomps Gargano multiple times and hits some weak shots. Gargano posts Andrea. Konley tosses Gargano back inside. Gargano shoves Cage off the top rope. Gamanguri. Stalling superplex by Cage. Hurts Doughnut by Gargano on Konley. GargaNo Escape. Konley taps. Swann is clearly injured. That match ended out of nowhere. Referee then says he stopped the match due to an injury.
Ricochet vs. PJ Black
PBP: Ricochet tries to get the crowd back into things and mentions Swann had a rib problem. Crowd tells Black he has sweet trunks. Very interesting clash of colors. One thing I’ll say is there have been no other high flyers matches so this’ll stand out. AR Fox is back for more awesome commentary. Shoulder block but Ricochet kips right up. Monkey flip but Ricochet ends up on his feet. Headscissors. Ricochet with one of his own. Standing ovation from the crowd. Boot and elbow by Ricochet. Shoulder block. Black rolls away but gets dropkicked. Bodyslam. People’s moonsault gets two. Running splash and butterfly suplex by Black. Kick to the back. Kicks to the back. Black stretches Ricochet’s arms out. Elbow to the back of the head. Rights and lefts by Ricochet. Back elbow. Black clotheslines Ricochet over the top. Gamanguri by Ricochet. Black hits a jumping uppercut. Cross body but Ricochet hits a dropkick. Dive by Ricochet. Frog splash by Ricochet. Regalplex blocked. Spin kick by Black. Out of nowhere with the acecrusher. Running shooting star press by Ricochet. Benadryller blocked. STO by Black. Exchange of kicks. Superkicks send both men down. Strike exchange. Some pretty solid shots from these men. Ricochet with a northern lights suplex. Ricochet muscles him up and hits a vertical suplex. Springboard 450 misses. Black hits one but gets two. German suplex blocked. Series of counters. Elbow by Black. Ricochet crotches his opponent. Black sends Ricochet down. Gamanguri. REVERSE RANA! Black grabs Ricochet’s leg and hits a hard chop. Powerbomb and that was a nasty end for Black. 630 hits. 1-2-3.
