Possible Trouble For The WWE’s Night of Champions Buyrate

According to Deadline.com, Floyd Mayweather vs. Saul "Canelo" Alverez fight did a reported 2.2 million buys, for a reported $150 million in domestic PPV revenue.

The Mayweather vs. Alvarez PPV took place the evening before the WWE Night of Champions PPV. In the past, big boxing and UFC PPV events on the same weekend have taken a bite out of the WWE PPV numbers. Here is how the PPV performed the last four years…

2009: 267,000 buys
2010: 165,000 buys
2011: 169,000 buys
2012: 189,000 buys

Opinionated View- I was pretty stunned WWE did a PPV the same weekend of a fight like that. I know the dates have to be set far in advance but we also seen PPV dates change but I guess it could be while a PPV slot was open the arena wouldn't have been. Sadly I am worried if the buyrate does tank it will just be an excuse to say "Daniel Bryan is not a draw"
