WWE has confirmed reports on Wednesday night that WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins suffered an injury at last night's WWE live event in Dublin, Ireland in a match with Kane.
Rollins tore his right ACL, MCL and medial meniscus during the main event. He is expected to be out of action for around six to nine months as a result of the injury.
WWE has announced that a tournament will now take place at the upcoming Survivor Series PPV on 11/22 to crown a new WWE World Heavyweight Champion. ESPN's Jonathan Coachman was the first to break the story on Twitter regarding Rollins' injury.
Opinionated View- Well I would never wish injury on anyone. But maybe this is a blessing in disguise. Rollins will out it ends his awful title reign but live a big story thread to return on. Plus it gets him off TV and maybe when he comes back WWE booking could be better maybe Triple H and Stephanie won't be around.
Now with this tournament it could be interesting because Orton is also out. Cena is taking time off and if he's banged up as I'm hearing he may not able to come back. Maybe just maybe WWE will let some new guys get a shot. Yeah I know odds are either Reigns or Del Rio wins but a guy can dream right?
