WWE Issues Statement on Raw Ending

WWE has issued a statement in the wake of criticism regarding the controversial main event angle on Raw that saw Paige make reference to Charlotte’s late brother Reid Flair. The use of Reid in the segment drew criticism from several corners, with Charlotte and Reid’s mother calling it out and Ric Flair himself saying that he had no advance warning about it
The statement from WWE reads, “Subject matter this personal is only approved as a result of the strong advocacy of the talent themselves. Notwithstanding that, WWE is ultimately responsible for what airs in its programming.”
The implication here is that Charlotte not only approved of the angle but was a “strong advocate” of it, although WWE is taking responsibility for the angle. Flair had previously said that he didn’t think that Charlotte would be in a position to say “no” if she wasn’t comfortable with it, although he noted that was only his opinion and not anything Charlotte had indicated to him.

Opinionated View- I agree with the idea that Charlotte was in a position where she couldn't say no. And even if she was ok with it there was still zero reason to go there.
