– As reported on Friday, Billy Gunn was fired as a trainer at the WWE Performance Center after he tested positive for a PED at a power-lifting competition in July. Gunn tested at a highly-elevated testosterone/epitestosterone ratio, almost nine times over the limit. He was suspended from powerlifting for four years and when WWE found out about the drug test, he was let go.
The Wrestling Observer reports that it is believed that Gunn was never drug tested at the Performance Center, as only talent and not coaches or staff are tested. This is why he had no Wellness violations. Despite that fact, WWE felt like they had to release him as a trainer being on PEDs would make the developmental program look bad.
WWE is reportedly considering two people to replace Gunn; no word on who though.
