While HGH or human growth hormone is a banned substance for the WWE, many wrestling organizations do not test for the substance since it is harder to detect with standard urine tests. HGH has become a topic of discussion due to the recent drug test failure of UFC fighter Cung Le*, who tested positive for excessive amounts of HGH after his fight with Michael Bisping at UFC Fight Night 48 in August.
According to the report, WWE does not test for HGH even though it is on the banned substance list. The setback with the tests is that testing for HGH is expensive, and previous drug tests for HGH were unreliable. Unless the user is caught quickly after injecting the substance, it is harder to detect.
In the Ultimate Warrior documentary on the WWE Network, Vince McMahon mentioned that Warrior and British Bulldog were experimenting with HGH before both were let go from the company in 1992.
Opinionated View- This is Observer story and I must point out that HGH has been a topic in MMA long before Cung Le got popped. Its not like Dave is paid to cover MMA or wait he is. Hell HGH has always been debated in football and baseball for man years.
And of course WWE isn't testing for it. WWE is still land of the giants. They want guys with with big muscles. Why I don't think they are stupid enough to openly handout HGH I do think they have no problem with guys using it. They can't say they are fine with it no matter what the list says.
