Match Number One: Adam Cole versus Hanson
They lock up and Cole grabs the hair. Hanson with a clean break but Cole with a pie face and he goes to the floor as fast as he taunts Hanson. Cole with a side head lock and Hanson pushes Cole away. Cole avoids a slam and he connects with a forearm to the back. Cole is picked up by Hanson when he tries to go through the legs. Cole with a slap but Hanson slaps back.
Cole goes to the floor and Hanson brings him back onto the apron but Cole drops Hanson on the top rope. Cole climbs the turnubuckles to try to punch Hanson but Hanson pushes him away. Cole tries again and Hanson with a boot to the head and Hanson slides to the floor and he punches Cole. Hanson with forearms across the chest.
Hanson with a punch as he comes off the apron. Cole with a kick to Hanson and he returns to the ring. Hanson pulls Cole down but Cole kicks Hanson. Cole goes to the floor and he charges at Hanson but Hanson with a back body drop. Hanson catapults Cole into the ring post and then he lawn darts Cole into the ring post.
Hanson rolls Cole back in and Cole tries to get out of the ring but Hanson punches Cole from the turnbuckles. Hanson adds some elbows but Cole gets away and he kicks Hanson in the back of the leg and Hanson gets crotched and falls to the mat as we go to commercial.
We are back and Cole continues to work on the knee and he wrings it into the ring post a few times. Hanson with punches but Cole kicks Hanson in the knee. Hanson with a waist lock but Cole blocks it and hits an enzuigiri followed by a Shining Wizard for a near fall. Cole sends Hanson into the turnbuckles but he appears to like it. Cole does it again with the same result. Cole with forearms but Hanson screams and sends Cole into the corner and he punches Cole.
Hanson with an Irish whip and running clothesline into the corner. Hanson with another Irish whip and clothesline but he turns his back on Cole and Cole clips Hanson. Hanson with a back body drop and then he puts Cole on the turnbuckles for a series of forearms to the chest. Cole falls to the mat and Hanson with a bronco buster for a near fall. Cole with a drop kick that sends Hanson into the turnbuckles.
Hanson has a kick blocked and he works on the knee again. Hanson with a spinning power slam for a near fall. Hanson misses the spin kick and Cole tries for the figure four but Hanson sends Cole to the mat. Hanson clotheslines Cole over the top rope to the floor. Hanson tries for a suicide dive, but Cole sees it coming and he moves out of the way and Hanson crashes and burns.
Cole returns to the ring and the referee makes his count but Hanson gets back in the ring, only to be met with a super kick and Cole gets a near fall. Cole with a figure four leg lock on Hanson. Cole calls Hanson a big troll as he taunts him and tells him to tap out. Hanson powers out of the hold and he kicks Cole in the head.
Hanson hobbles as he goes for Cole but Cole with forearms. Hanson with a punch. Cole with forearms but Hanson with a back fist. Cole with a kick to the knee. Hanson does a cartwheel to avoid Cole but he misses a clothesline. Cole with a super kick that sends Hanson into the ropes and he is tied in the ropes like he was Andre the Giant. Cole with punches and kicks while the referee warns Cole.
Cole blows a kiss to Hanson and then he comes off the ropes, but Hanson has been freed from the ropes and he hits a super kick followed by a clothesline that flips Cole. Cole with an inside cradle for the three count.
Winner: Adam Cole
After the match, Cole refuses the Code of Honor and he shows Hanson that he thinks he is number one. Hanson grabs Cole but Michael Bennett attacks Hanson. Cole and Bennett attack Hanson while Maria watches from the apron. Bennett with a spear while Cole holds Hanson.
Adam Cole gets a mic and he says that it is story time from Adam Cole. Number one, nobody cares about the bearded troll Hanson. Number two, nobody cares about War Machine. Number three, which is being edited, and he tells Bennett to kick the crap out of Hanson.
Speaking of War Machine, Ray Rowe happened to be in a very very serious motorcycle accident. You can guess that nobody cared about that either. As a matter of fact, if that motorcycle accident was much much worse, nobody would remember poor Ray Rowe.
Michael Elgin comes to the ring and that forces Bennett, Cole, and Maria to the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Michael Elgin and Hanson are still in the ring.
Elgin takes the mic and Tommaso Ciampa’s music plays before he can say anything.
They get nose to nose and Ciampa says something to Elgin.
Elgin tells Ciampa that he doesn’t see any reason to wait, so he tells the referee to grab his belt.
Match Number Two: Tommaso Ciampa versus Michael Elgin for the Ring of Honor World Title
Elgin and Ciampa exchange forearms and Ciampa backs Elgin into the corner and he punches Elgin and kicks him in the corner. Ciampa with more kicks and the referee warns Ciampa. Ciampa pulls down the knee pad and he connects with three running knees to the head. Elgin rolls to the floor and Ciampa with a double sledge off the apron. Ciampa sends Elgin into the guardrails.
Ciampa with a running knee to Elgin against the guardrails. Ciampa grabs a chair and he puts Elgin in a different corner while the referee continues his count. Ciampa with another running knee and Ciampa returns to the ring to break the count. Ciampa goes back to the floor and he puts Elgin in another corner of the ringside area. Ciampa with the running knee and the momentum sends Ciampa into the crowd.
Ciampa is caught by Elgin as he comes off the corner of the guardrails and Elgin with a spinebuster onto the chair. Elgin returns to the ring to break the count and we go to commercial.
We are back and Elgin and Ciampa are on the floor again. Elgin sets for a power bomb on the floor and he turns it into a guardrail bomb. Elgin sends Ciampa back into the ring and Elgin goes up top for the corkscrew senton but Ciampa kicks out at two. Elgin tries for a suplex but Ciampa tries to block it. Elgin gets Ciampa up for a delayed vertical suplex but Ciampa stops Elgin by grabbing Elgin in a very sensitive place
Elgin with a forearm to get free of the testicular claw. Elgin and Ciampa go back and forth with forearms. Ciampa with a snap mare and kick to the back. Ciampa sits down and he wants Elgin to kick him in the back. Elgin kicks him. Elgin sits down and dares Ciampa to do the same. Ciampa with a kick to the back.
Ciampa pie faces Elgin and sits down again. Elgin picks up Ciampa for a dead lift German suplex and bridge for a near fall. Elgin holds on and hits a second dead lift German suplex for another near fall. Elgin picks up Ciampa and hits a third dead lift German suplex into the turnbuckles. Ciampa rolls to the apron and Elgin goes up for the gorilla superplex but Ciampa holds the ropes and then he punches Elgin in the leg.
Ciampa with a drop kick that sends Elgin to the apron. Ciampa pulls the ringside mats up and Ciampa sets for his own gorilla superplex onto the exposed floor. Elgin blocks it and Elgin grabs Ciampa and hits a modified Falcon’s Arrow through the table. Elgin struggles to get back into the ring while Ciampa is not moving. Elgin returns to the ring and the referee continues his count and by some miracle, Ciampa recovers and gets back into the ring.
We go to commercial.
We are back and both men are down in the ring. The referee checks with both men to see if they want to continue, or if they can continue. Elgin gets back to his feet first and he signals for a clothesline. Ciampa blocks the clothesline and he connects with a knee. Elgin with a knee of his own. Elgin gets a near fall. Elgin with forearms to Ciampa and he misses the clothesline with the right, but not with the left. Elgin with the buckle bomb but Ciampa with a clothesline out of the corner, but Elgin pops up. Elgin misses a clothesline and Ciampa with an Air Raid Crash for a near fall.
Ciampa is the first to get to his feet and he puts Elgin on the turnbuckles. Ciampa chops Elgin and he connects with a thumb to the eye. Ciampa sets for a superplex but Elgin with forearms but Ciampa holds on to the ropes. Ciampa with head butts but Elgin with a forearm. Ciampa tries for a super Air Raid Crash but Elgin counters with a sunset flip power bomb into a spinning sit out power bomb but Ciampa kicks out.
Elgin applies the Crossface but Ciampa gets his feet on the ropes to force Elgin to release the hold.
We go to commercial.
We are back and both men are down, but Elgin gets up first. Ciampa is on the apron and Elgin tries for the gorilla superplex again. Ciampa gets to his feet and he counters into Project Ciampa but Elgin kicks out. Ciampa sets for the Sicilian Stretch but he connects with a series of elbows to the head to set up the hold. Elgin rolls through and counters into the Crossface. Ciampa and Elgin both go for reversal and Elgin with a forearm to the back of the head followed by a spinning back fist. Elgin with a series of knees to the head and the referee stops the match.
Winner: Michael Elgin
After the match, the officials come to the ring to check on both men.
Elgin offers his hand to Ciampa but Ciampa picks up the World Title belt and holds it. Ciampa drops the title belt and he goes to the floor.
Elgin leaves the ring and goes to the back, but Ciampa returns to the apron. One of the members of the ring crew tries to help Ciampa, but Ciampa pushes him away. Ciampa sends him into the guardrails and then he slaps another member of the ring crew.
Kevin Kelly goes into Righteous Indignation mode and he talks back to Ciampa. Ciampa slaps Kelly and then he sends Kevin into the ring. Steve Corino stops Ciampa from doing anything to Kevin. Security comes into the ring and stands five feet away holding up their hands so Ciampa lets him go.
Ciampa starts to walk to the ramp, but he has second thoughts and he goes after Bobby Cruise in the ring, but a member of security tries to stop him, but that person is thrown over the top rope to the floor. Ciampa sends Cruise into the turnbuckles and he yells at him before hitting seven running knees to the head.
We go to credits.
