Complete 8/12 WWE Main Event Results

The Usos come out to kick off the show, and say they went to the Authority and requested an open challenge for tonight, because they love to compete. They say they want to be known as one of the best teams in WWE history, like the Hart Foundation, the Road Warriors, Edge and Christian. They open the floor to potential challengers, and the call is answered by Curtis Axel and Ryback. The big guy says the titles would look great around their waists, but he’s interrupted by Rob Van Dam. Ryback calls him a dummy because he doesn’t have a partner, and accuses him of stealing his singlet.  Out comes Sheamus as RVD’s partner. The two challenging teams start to brawl, until Corporate Kane comes out and announces a 3-way tag match for the titles tonight on Main Event.

Recap of the Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena video that’s been playing for two weeks. Seems to be a bit more comprehensive than it has been.
 SETH ROLLINS vs. KOFI KINGSTON
Rollins starts off super aggressive beating down on Kofi in the corner and standing on his head until the referee forces him to stop. He continues with a choke in the ropes to the same end. Seth with a neckbreaker for a two-count early. “You sold out” chant starts which distracts him, and Kofi takes advantage with a few clotheslines and a dropkick, then dumps Rollins to the outside and follows up with a senton over the ropes. Rollins dumps him into the barricade and rolls back into the ring as we go to commercial. After the break Rollins is in control with a rest hold for a few minutes, until Kofi rallies back with his usual offense. He hits the Boom Drop and sets up for Trouble in Paradise, but Rollins ducks out of the way and runs into a crossbody instead. Seth gets a drop toe hold into the bottom rope for a two-count. He sets up for a powerbomb, but Kofi counters into a roll-up for a nearfall. Kingston with the S.O.S. for an extremely close nearfall, and Rollins rolls to the floor to escape. They end up fighting to the top turnbuckle and Kofi tries for a superplex, but Rollins counters with a sunset flip bucklebomb, followed by the Black Out for the 1-2-3.
Winner: Seth Rollins

We get to see the entire Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella video package that will likely air prior to the match at WWE SummerSlam. And yes, that includes Claire Lynch “Megan”.
WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
THE USOS (c) vs. RYBACK & CURTIS AXEL vs. SHEAMUS & ROB VAN DAM
Ryback starts off by bullying Jimmy Uso around the ring, making fun of him for being a “weak” and “stupid” champion. Jimmy comes back and dropkicks him in the face, then slaps him hard before tagging in his brother. Ryback tries to escape and ends up getting kicked by Sheamus. In comes RVD for some Rolling Thunder on the big guy. He sets up for the Five Star, but Ryback rolls to the outside; he dives tot he floor and takes out both members of Rybaxel. Obligatory commercial break.
As we come back, Ryback powerbombs Sheamus and is obviously exhausted after working this entire match so far. Curtis Axel makes the tag for his team and goes to work on Sheamus. For some reason they start alternating tags, even though Ryback just left the match, and continue the double team on the US Champion. Sheamus comes back with White Noise on Ryback and makes the hot tag to Rob Van Dam. He comes off the top rope with a kick to Axel and follows that up with a standing moonsault for two. Jimmy Uso makes a hidden tag and gets a crossbody on Axel. He connects with a superkick and sets up for the hip attack in the corner, but settles for a corkscrew splash instead. Sheamus comes in and crashes to the floor with Ryback. Jey Uso comes off the ropes to take them all out, as Jimmy hits Axel with a Samoan Drop for a close nearfall.
Sheamus with the Brogue Kick to Ryback. Axel with a knee lift to Sheamus. Van Dam with a spinning kick to Axel followed by the Five Star Frogsplash, but Jimmy – the legal man – follows up with a diving splash on both guys to retain the belts.
Winners: The Usos
