TNA Injury News and Roster Notes Following The Recent New York TV Tapings (SPOILERS)
- Here is a lot of TNA news following the recent set of TV tapings in New York…
Dixie Carter was legit injured from the powerbomb spot she took from Bully Ray. Carter reportedly suffered two small broken bones in her back from the impact of the bump. The injury is described as minor, and the angle was done to write Carter off TV as a character.
Tommy Dreamer was also written off TV after the Carter angle. Dreamer, who will continue to work behind the scenes for TNA, stated that "his job here is done" after Carter was put through the table.
Bully Ray had a lot of input at the NYC tapings, specifically suggesting the Hardy Boys vs. Team 3D match and the original scenario putting Carter through a table.
Gene Snitsky and Ezekiel Jackson were only brought in for the New York tapings, and are not scheduled to return to the promotion. They were only booked for two of the three NYC tapings, with the idea that Carter presented them as "real" ECW guys to get heat from the New York crowd.
King Mo continues to train in Las Vegas with Kenny King and will be doing more with TNA going forward.
Devon will be back regularly leading into Bound for Glory.
Homicide is back with the company going forward.
The original plan at Slammiversary was for MVP to win the TNA title. But once it was determined that he was too injured to work the match, the call was made to still change the title, but to insert Lashley into that spot.
Set for the August New York tapings is Abyss vs. Bram in a "Stairway to Janice" ladder match with Janice hanging above the ring. The match was hyped as having tacks, barbed wire, weapons and fire. Also scheduled is a TNA Knockouts championship match with Gail Kim vs. Angelina Love vs. Taryn Terrell vs. Velvet Sky.
