7/1 WWE Main Event Report

-Paul Heyman is out to start the show with his client Cesaro, who won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania. Cesaro is sporting an eye patch after the injury he suffered on Raw. Heyman says they were supposed to have a match tonight, but because of his injury Cesaro will not be in action, and the fans can blame Kofi Kingston for their loss. They roll footage of Cesaro absolutely destroying Kofi on Raw. Heyman says that Cesaro will be in action at WWE Battleground to win the Intercontinental Championship – out comes Dolph Ziggler to interrupt them. Ziggler reminds everyone of the time he won Money in the Bank, and the time he became World Heavyweight Champion, and the time he became Intercontinental Champion, and asks what Cesaro has ever done. He's about to tell them to "man up", but out comes Big E, who cuts a preacher style promo about winning the title. Axel and Ryback come out to add to the noise, followed by Rob Van Dam. RVD puts over Ziggler and Big E, but says the only thing Ryback ever did was steal his ring gear. A brawl breaks out, and the babyfaces clear the ring as the heels all retreat up the ramp.

R-Truth & Xavier Woods vs. Erick Rowan & Luke Harper
Woods with an impressive display of offense, taking it to Rowan for several minutes with high-intensity kicks and tosses. He springboards off the top rope – Rowan looks to counter with a side slam, but Woods transitions nicely into a DDT. Truth breaks up the pin, but Harper kicks him in the face and brawls with him to the floor. Rowan hits a side slam on Woods for the 1-2-3 in a short, entertaining match.
Winners: The Wyatt Family
-Cameron and Naomi come out together, but they are clearly having some issues. They roll footage of Paige losing the Divas Championship to AJ Lee on Raw last night. Nikki comes down for a handicap match, and Stephanie McMahon shows up on the screen. Steph says it's not fair that Brie abandoned her, but she's assigned her a new tag team partner for tonight – Alicia Fox.
The Funkadactyls vs. Nikki Bella & Alicia Fox
There's a big "Nikki" chant to start off this match, which sounds like it's coming from all the girls in the audience. This match doesn't last very long, as Cameron basically beat up Nikki for a minute and then Alicia kicked her own partner in the back and refused to make the tag. Cameron got the win, and Naomi never hit the ring.
Winner: The Funkadactyls

Dolph Ziggler, Big E & Rob Van Dam vs. Ryback, Curtis Axel & Cesaro
Ryback and Big E lock up at the beginning – and by "lock up" I mean they beat the hell out of each other and test their strength with clotheslines and shoulder tackles. Big E hits a massive belly-to-belly, and Ryback tags out ot Axel. Big E bullies around Axel as well, so Cesaro tags in. In come Ziggler, who hits Cesaro in the eye, and he rolls to the outside to check on his eye patch. The match breaks down and the babyfaces clear the ring of Rybaxel so they can cut to a commercial. After the break, Ryback is beating up RVD with right hands and clubbing blows. Rob with a surprise dropkick as the fans chant "we want Ziggler", instead RVD hits a series of running shoulder thrusts before Axel attacks him from behind. In comes Cesaro, looking to get his hands dirty for the first time in this match, but he doesn't last long and ends up tagging back out to the big guy. Ryback again works over RVD as the heels alternate in and out with quick tags and transitions. Ryback foolishly goes up to the top rope and looks for a splash, and Van Dam rolls out of the way and makes the hot tag to Ziggler. Dolph goes crazy on Cesaro with right hands in the corner. He knocks Axel off the apron and gets the Fameasser for a close two-count, as Paul Heyman looks unhappy, sitting on the announce table. Ziggler with a massive DDT on Cesaro, but Axel breaks up the pin. Big E takes out Axel, Ryback takes out Big E, and RVD gets thrown off the top rope to take them all down. Ziggler with the Zig-Zag from behind on Cesaro, picking up the 1-2-3.
Winner: Dolph Ziggler, Big E & Rob Van Dam
