Richie Steamboat Released by WWE

Mike Johnson is reporting that sometime ago, WWE quietly released NXT wrestler Richie Steamboat  Richie is the son of WWE Hall of Famer and NXT trainer Ricky Steamboat. Richie was signed by WWE in 2009 and was last seen on the NXT TV show back on November 21, 2012 during his feud with Kassius Ohno (Chris Hero). Steamboat had not competed since then due to a very serious back injury that had required surgery. The news of Steamboat's release was first brought up by Chris Hero in a interview a few weeks ago.

Opinionated View- This is disappointing as Richie had a great deal of talent and was one of the better guys in NXT. But I understand why WWE did it. Just like when TNA cut Sorenson if the guy can't get cleared or is to hurt to work you gotta let him go and open that spot up for someone else.
