Reports about Laurel Van Ness (Chelsea Green) made the rounds among the wrestling media last week indicating she may have requested a release from Impact Wrestling.
According to a new report by Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Green did indeed request a release from her current Impact contract at the TV tapings in Ottawa and did so just hours after she captured the vacant Knockouts Championship.
The company is currently airing the tournament on Pop TV the next few weeks and were described as being “really upset” with her request, more so that she did so after winning the championship and they had already taped weeks of TV about the tournament. The same report indicated Green admitted making the mistake of not asking for her release on the first day of the tapings and then going through scheduled plans for TV.
Some sort of agreement was reportedly made between both Green and Impact officials that she wasn’t supposed to talk publicly about requested the release until she dropped the championship. Impact is scheduled to hold TV tapings in early January in Orlando, so it would appear she will be brought in to drop the title then unless plans change. Either way, the story got out and the company denied her release request at this time.
Opinionated View- I really don't get why she would want to leave.
