As has been reported over the past week, WWE has been calling several former stars in order to fill the roster leading into the WWE Draft and Brand Split. The WON reports that the expectation for the new talent is that they’ll be used as the Dudley Boyz are as notable names who can be on TV and live shows and who will put over the NXT guys as they come up. PWINsider reports that the returns will be full-time returns, with most of the deals offered being for two to three years.
The NXT roster will need to be replenished due to the expected call ups to the main roster following the Brand Split. The WON notes that of Shinsuke Nakamura, Austin Aries, Samoa Joe, Finn Balor, Bayley, Asuka, Bobby Roode, Jason Jordan, Chad Gable and The Revival, “many of those names will be on the main roster shortly.”
Opinionated View-
Well if that's true I would be happy. Problem is I don't believe it. Its WWE they always push older guys. And well even if the Dudley Boyz are putting over NXT guys doesn't mean they haven't sucked since returning. And some of those guys like Crime Time I never want to see again ever.
As for the NXT calls ups Aries, Joes, Balor, Roode should have gone right to the main roster they are talented and among the best in the world. They would give some much need fresh air to a very stale roster. The Revival is a good team and might have the most potential of any team the WWE has but I would have concerns with how they would be booked on the main roster. Because they are pretty much "We are wrestlers" style team so I could see them having to job out to the fucking New Day or again have to carry Enzo and Cass.
Jordan and Gable aka American Alpha have potential but I feel they are really still to green. Aksua is ok I just don't buy the hype she is one of the best. Bayley is ok but just ok. And her gimmick works well in NXT where she works in front of the same people every single week for the most part. But how is that going to play on the main roster. Nakamura sucks he is gong to suck no matter what.
