There were some New Japan Pro Wrestling officials backstage at last night’s NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn event, including Tiger Hattori, NJPW President Naoki Sugabayashi, and Gedo were all backstage. They visited Finn Balor and were there to watch NJPW star Jushin “Thunder” Liger.
– There was reportedly a lot of buzz over KANNA’s appearance ringside at the event. There are some rumors she has signed with WWE, but those are not yet confirmed.
– Fans in attendance reportedly threw streamers for the Finn Balor ring announcement during the main event. However, they landed in the ringside area in front of the areas. Security then escorted these fans out of the arena. This started a “Let Them Stay” chant. A few short minutes later, the fans were escorted back to their seats by security guards, which started a “Welcome Back” chant.
– Nia Jax’s upcoming debut was promoted last night. Her real name is Savelina Fanene, she is a former college basketball player and was signed to a WWE developmental deal in 2014.
– A lot of the main WWE roster was reportedly backstage watching NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn last night.
– The NXT event reportedly had a separate NXT merchandise booth outside the Barclays Center, and there was reportedly exclusive merchandise being sold there. This included a “fight card” style poster and a t-shirt with the entire card listed on the front and back
