ROH TV Report: Lethal vs. Strong For TV Title

We are in Dearborn, Michigan for the latest episode of Ring of Honor’s ‘Road Rage’ where we take a look at some matches from a recent ‘house show’. Your announcers are Kevin Kelly and Truth Martini.

Kevin and Truth run through the matches that we will see tonight. We will see Alberto El Patron versus ACH, Mark Briscoe versus Michael Elgin, and Roderick Strong will try to become the Ring of Honor Television Champion one more time against Jay Lethal.

Match Number One: ACH versus Alberto El Patron They lock up and ACH backs Alberto into the ropes. ACH pushes Alberto a little to show that he is not intimidated by Alberto. Alberto climbs the turnbuckles to take off his t-shirt and he throws it into the crowd. They go to a Greco Roman Knuckle Lock and ACH with a kick and chops to the leg. Alberto with a kick to the midsection and then he punches ACH from the turnbuckles. Alberto with a snap mare and drop kick. Alberto gets a near fall. ACH with an elbow and kick followed by a chop and forearms. ACH with a side head lock. ACH with a shoulder tackle and Alberto stays on his feet. ACH says that he is going to do it again, but instead he takes Alberto down with a double leg and he hits a drop kick. ACH with a chop and Saito suplex for a near fall. Alberto with a kick to the midsection and he chokes Alberto in the ropes. Alberto with a kick and he hits a suplex and floats over and gets a near fall. Alberto with a kick to the head but ACH sends Alberto over the top rope to the floor. ACH tries for a plancha but Alberto moves and he pulls the ring skirt and he then hits a step up enzuigiri as we go to commercial. We are back and ACH rolls Alberto back into the ring. ACH goes up top and hits a cross body and gets a near fall. ACH slams Alberto and he goes up top. ACH takes too much time and he is crotched by Alberto. Alberto with head butts and then he hits an reverse superplex for a near fall. Alberto signals for the cross arm breaker but ACH is able to avoid it. Alberto sends ACH to the corner but ACH avoids Alberto and Alberto hits the ring post shoulder first. ACH goes up top and he hits a double stomp to the back of the neck and he gets a near fall. ACH welcomes Alberto to Ring of Honor and makes a questionable gesture. Alberto with a gutbuster followed by a super kick for a near fall. Alberto is dropped on the top rope by ACH and ACH clotheslines Alberto over the top rope to the floor. ACH with the Fosbury Flop plancha onto Alberto. ACH sends Alberto back into the ring and he goes up top for the 450 splash but Alberto moves and ACH overshoots Alberto. ACH is propelled into the air and lands chest first on the mat. Alberto with the Cross Arm Breaker of Destiny, but ACH escapes and ACH with a German suplex for a near fall. ACH goes up top again but he lands on Alberto’s knees on the 450 splash. Alberto with the cross arm breaker of destiny and he gets ACH to tap out. Winner: Alberto El Patron

We go to training footage from the Sandy Fork where ODB is training with the Briscoes as they get ready for their respective matches at the 13th Anniversary Show. We go to commercial.

Match Number Two: Michael Elgin versus Mark Briscoe Elgin with punches to Briscoe when the bell rings and then he connects with forearms. Briscoe drops down and Elgin goes over the top rope to the floor. Briscoe with a palm thrust followed by a drop kick to send Elgin to the floor. Mark with a flip dive over the ring post onto Elgin. Mark sets up Elgin for the Cactus Jack elbow drop but Elgin gets back into the ring. Mark with a chop from the top turnbuckle and he connects with palm thrusts and chops. Mark with punches but Elgin sends Mark to the apron and he connects with a shoulder. Elgin goes for the gorilla superplex but Mark stops him. They exchange punches and forearms. Elgin kicks Briscoe as he comes back into the ring and Elgin with the Harlem Hangover for a near fall. Elgin with forearms to the back followed by a knee to the back of the head. Mark with chops to Elgin but Elgin with a forearm that sends Mark to the mat. Michael with a cravate and knees to the chest. Mark blocks a knee but Elgin with a uranage and he goes up top for a moonsault but Mark moves and Elgin crashes and burns. Mark tries for a tornado DDT but Elgin blocks it and he hits an elevated swinging neck breaker for a near fall as we go to commercial. We are back and Elgin sets for a buckle bomb but Briscoe gets to his feet and he kicks Elgin. Elgin misses a splash into the corner and Mark tries to get Elgin up. Mark lands on his feet on a back body drop. Mark with a series of chops to Elgin. Elgin with a forearm when Mark takes too long to connect with a punch. Mark with a flying clothesline and both men are down. Mark gets Elgin on his shoulders but Elgin gets to his feet. Mark with an Exploder suplex and he gets a near fall. Mark runs into a boot and then Elgin with an enzuigiri. Elgin misses a clothesline and Mark hits a Death Valley Driver. Mark goes up top but Elgin gets to his feet. Elgin drives Mark to the mat in the corner and then hits a slingshot double stomp onto the apron. Elgin goes up top and he hits a frog splash for a near fall. Elgin wants Mark to hit him and Mark obliges. Elgin with a forearm. Elgin with short arm clotheslines while he has Mark’s arm trapped. Mark lands on his feet on a German suplex attempt and Mark with a running drop kick that sends Elgin into the corner. Mark goes up top but Elgin catches him and hits a power bomb followed by a buckle bomb and instead of the spinning power bomb Elgin hits the Jay Driller for the three count. Winner: Michael Elgin

After the match, Michael takes the turnbuckle and he is going to use it on Mark, but Jay Briscoe comes to the ring and Elgin leaves. Elgin goes to the floor and he hugs a fan who boos him, but he pushes away a fan who wants to hug him. Elgin grabs the title belt when he gets back into the ring and he hits Jay in the back of the head with it. Michael holds the title belt but Tommaso Ciampa comes into the ring and he punches Elgin. Ciampa takes the title belt. Hanson makes his way to the ring and he connects with a boot to the head and he picks up the title belt. Jay goes after Hanson and they fight to the floor while Jay bleeds. Elgin joins in and Ciampa goes up top and he hits a splash onto Jay and Hanson while Elgin saw it coming and he walked away. We go to commercial. We are back and Jimmy Jacobs has joined Kevin at the announce table because his prior color commentator is now joining his charge for the main event of this show.

Match Number Three: Jay Lethal (with Truth Martini and J Diesel) versus Roderick Strong for the ROH Television Title They lock up and Roderick with a wrist lock. Jay with a knee and he tries for a hip toss but Strong counters with a rollup for a near fall. Lethal with a drop kick. They lock up again and Strong with a side head lock. Lethal with an Irish whip but Strong with a float over and drop kick that sends Lethal to the floor. Strong with a baseball slide and then he chops Lethal on the floor. They return to the ring and Lethal with kicks and he sends Strong into the turnbuckles and he chops Strong. Lethal tries for an Irish whip but Strong holds on to the ropes. Lethal with a chop and punches. Lethal floats over on an Irish whip but Strong catches him. Lethal gets to his feet but Strong backs Lethal into the corner. Strong with a back breaker for a near fall. Strong with a chop and he gets a near fall. Strong tries for a suplex but Lethal gets to his feet. Truth trips Strong and Lethal clotheslines Strong over the top rope to the floor. Lethal with a suicide dive through the bottom and second rope. Lethal then hits two traditional suicide dives and Truth does a victory lap while Lethal poses on the turnbuckles. We go to commercial. We are back and Strong appears to be back in control but he runs into a boot in the corner. Strong with a back body drop and Strong hits a running knee into the corner. Strong knocks Diesel off the apron with a drop kick and then he hits a forearm on Lethal followed by a modified Olympic slam for a near fall. Strong gets Lethal on his shoulders but Jay with elbows and a chop. Strong gets Lethal on his shoulders again but Lethal avoids Death by Roderick and counters it into a rana. Lethal has a super kick blocked. Strong misses the jumping knee. Lethal with the Lethal Combination into the Koji Clutch. Strong gets his foot onto the rope to force Lethal to release the hold. Lethal sets for the Lethal Injection but Strong grabs Lethal and hits the jumping knee and forearm. Truth gets on the apron to distract the referee and BJ Whitmer attacks Strong and hits an Exploder and then he sends Strong to the floor and hits an Exploder suplex on the floor. The referee puts two and two together and he calls for the bell. We cut to Roderick on the mic and he tells Jay that he hasn’t beaten him yet. He calls Jay a coward and he demands to have the match restarted. The match is restarted when Lethal comes back into the ring and he kicks Strong in the corner. Lethal and Strong exchange punches. Strong with a chop but Lethal with a super kick. Strong counters the Lethal Injection with a back breaker and he gets a near fall. Lethal with a cutter for a near fall. Lethal goes to the turnbuckles for the elbow drop but Strong recovers and he crotches Lethal. Strong sets for a superplex and he hits it and both men are down. Strong gets a near fall. Strong gets Lethal up but Jay holds on to the ropes. Strong is able to get Jay up and Lethal tries to counter with a rana. Strong holds on and he applies the Strong Hold and then he goes to the Liontamer level but Lethal gets to the ropes. Strong grabs Lethal and Lethal drops Strong on the top rope. Lethal goes to the turnbuckles but Strong with an enzuigiri that staggers Lethal on the turnbuckles. Strong with a forearm and he goes for another superplex but he decides to turn it into a super Gibson Driver. Lethal blocks it at first and Strong tries for another superplex. Lethal with a punch and Strong falls to the mat. Lethal goes for the elbow drop and he connects but he can only get a near fall. Lethal sets for Lethal Injection and Strong moves. Strong hits a Sick Kick but Lethal kicks out. Strong waits for Lethal to get up and then he decides to go for a suplex, but Lethal blocks it with a knee and he hits two super kicks followed by Lethal Injection for the three count. Winner: Jay Lethal

  After the match, we see Roderick Strong in the back looking for BJ Whitmer. BJ and Roderick have to be separated. We see Jay in the ring and Alberto comes from behind. They exchange a few punches until Alberto gains control and then Lethal gets out of the ring. We go to credits.
