WWE Smackdown Report 4.25.14

Match times are not exact.

Vickie Guerrero, already in the ring, kicks off the show this week. The Authority has a well-deserved night off, so she is in charge. Due to their disrespect, the Shield will compete in an 11-on-3 handicap match tonight. We then saw two podiums, and well have a debate tonight.

Zeb Colter with Jack Swagger and Paul Heyman with Cesaro are already in the ring at podiums. Zeb started, declaring that he got ambushed at WrestleMania and the night after. No one knew Cesaro until he took him under his wing against Swagger's wishes. His time was up. Heyman went next, and did his usual intro. He then spent his time repeating that his client, Brock Lesnar, conquered the streak. The whole time. Zeb got his turn to respond, and asked why Heyman stole Cesaro. Calling Heyman a liar and thief and that Cesaro doesn't know him. Heyman responded by saying that he was the man behind the 1 in 21 and 1. His ONE was the ONE that WON, and kept repeating. He then repeated that Cesaro was his client when he won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal. Zeb got angry and knocked over his podium and said that this issue was between he and Heyman. Swagger and Cesaro had to separate tem as they went to commercial.


Cesaro vs. Jack Swagger
The bell rings and they charge each other. Swagger takes control and slams Cesaro to the corner, and lands several knee strikes. Side headlock applied, off the ropes and Cesaro catches Swagger in a tilt a whirl slam. Uppercuts by Cesaro in the corner, he is just beating down Swagger. A clothesline follows and a cover gets 2. Swagger battles back and dumps Cesaro to the floor. Cesaro tries to climb backing and Swagger sends him back to the floor. Swagger follows, charges Cesaro but runs into another uppercut. Cesaro slams Swagger into the barricade, and then delivers more uppercuts and a big boot. Back into the ring they go, double stomp by Cesaro and a cover for 2. Swagger slams Cesaro to the corner, and then hits a chop block and then belly to belly for 2. Clubbing shots to the back by Swagger, and gets a butterfly lock and grounds Cesaro. Cesaro powers out, off the ropes and Cesaro with a springboard uppercut! The dead lift gutwrench suplex follows and a cover gets 2. Swagger counters a slam, sends Cesaro to the corner and then hits the Swagger bomb for 2. Rights by Swagger now, Cesaro to his feet and they trade rights and forearm strikes. Big boot by Cesaro and then clotheslines Swagger to the floor, Cesaro fell out with him...

~COMMERCIAL BREAK~
Back from commercial as Swagger tries a superplex, countered and he is sent to the mat. Swagger runs back up and eats a forearm strike. Top rope uppercut from Cesaro gets a close 2. Swagger back with a bog boot and a cover for 2. Swagger bomb try again, countered, but he counters the boot into the ankle lock. Cesaro rolls out, but Swagger with an amateur slam and cover for 2. Cesaro fires back with uppercuts, and hits a butterfly into a powerbomb. Cesaro looks for the swing, double legs Swagger and here we go! Big swing by Cesaro, neutralizer hits and that is all!

Following the match, the Shield hit the ring. Cesaro and Heyman escaped, and then the Shield attacked Swagger, who was scheduled to be part of the big handicap main event match. Swagger ate the triple powerbomb, because he failed to adapt.

Michael Cole stated that Daniel Bryan was recovering from Kane attack, but would be on Raw Monday.

Natalya vs. Tamina
Go behind by Natalya, takedown follows and she works a font facelock. Natalya transitions to a leg lock, but Tamina with an escape and then a clothesline by Natalya. Side headlock takedown by Natalya, Tamina to her feet and a shoulder block by Natalya. Tamina then slams Natalya to the floor, then rolls her back in and covers for 2. Knees to the back by Tamina, and then works a chinlock. More knees to the back by Tamina, and a cover gets 2. A Samoan drop follows, Tamina drags Natalya towards the corner, climbs up top and then drops down as Natalya rolls away. Roll up by Natalya gets 2. Back elbow by Natalya, sunset flip and into the sharp shooter try, countered, but a spear by Natalya gets a close 2. Tamina catches Natalya in the corner, counter by Natalya, looks for a roll up, Tamina shoves her off, Natalya kips up and then eats a superkick. That's all.

The 3MB were backstage when Seth Rollins appeared. They got cocky because they had the advantage, but not for long because Ambrose then showed up. Slater tried to bail, but Reigns was there. Rollins and Ambrose beat down McIntyre and Mahal, and Slater ate a Superman punch from Reigns. They were also scheduled to be part of the big handicap main event match.

Vickie Guerrero was talking with Triple H on the phone about the Shield situation. Triple H was not pleased with her performance, which led to Brad Maddox taking over for the night and Vickie being sent home. Maddox said Vickie didn't know how to handle things, and that the Shield will listen to real authority tonight.


Jey Uso w/Jimmy vs. Curtis Axel w/Ryback
They start brawling at the bell, fists are flying. Flying forearm by Jey, off the ropes and he slides into a headlock. Jey transitions into a chinlock, Axel to his feet and slams him to the corners to escape. Belly to back suplex by Axel, and then Axel lays the boots to Jey. Jey battles back, but eats a knee as he comes off the ropes. Charging knee strike by Axel, and then beats down Jey in the corner. Side back breaker by Axel, double axe handle smash off the ropes and a cover gets 2. Axel misses a corner splash, clotheslines by Jey follow. Kick to the gut, uppercuts and then heads up top. Ryback distracts, Jimmy over to counter Ryback and Axel grabs Jey off the ropes and slams him down. Axel hits his neck breaker and that is all.

Time for the Wyatt Family Power Hour IN A CAGE! Bray explained that love was powerful, and that if the people love you that they will do anything for you. But Cena has lost the love of his fans and they would rather see him suffer than smile. The Cena fans were given a choice, and on Monday, those fans threw him to the wolves. Bray told Cena to stop underestimating him because his words were like razor blades, and they are working. He said at Extreme Rules that they would be like modern day gladiators fighting for the love of the people inside of this cage. In his dreams he sees them, feels them and knows that they will all follow him. Bray then climbed the cage singing with the crowd joining in.


Erick Rowan and Luke Harper w/Bray Wyatt vs. Cody Rhodes and Goldust
Cody and Harper to begin. Takes Cody to the corner, counter and a dropkick off the ropes by Cody. Rebound clothesline by Cody, but Harper back with rights. Tags to Rowan and Goldust. Bulldog by Goldust off the ropes, and tags to Cody. Boot by Cody, uppercut follows. Rowan then grabs him by the face and slams him to the mat. Bray grabs the mic and puts over Rowan and Harper as the future and essentially begins preaching as Harper works over Cody. Tag to Rowan, they double team Cody and continue the beat down. Knees to Cody, and then works a neck crank. Rowan then slams Cody to the corner, and Harper clubs away at him. Gator roll by Harper, and into a side headlock. Cody to his feet, but Harper then knocks Goldust to the floor. Cody looks for a tag, but its not there. Cody then hits the disaster kick and both men are down. Tag to Goldust. He cleans house with rights and clotheslines. An uppercut follows, atomic drop to both and then the big cross body off the top rope. Rowan to the floor, snap slam on Harper for 2 as Rowan makes the save. Missile dropkick by Cody, sends Rowan to the floor. Cody up top, but Harper tosses Goldust into him, sending him to the floor. Goldust is upset by this, and then eats a clothesline from Harper and that is all.

Brad Maddox was on the phone with Triple H. The Shield then appeared, and Maddox reprimanded them for taking out other superstars. Reigns then tossed him over the couch. Ambrose appeared to be the voice of reason and stopped Rollins from following up. Ambrose then went insane and dove over the couch to beat on Maddox.

Santino and Emma were in the ring, preparing to face Fandango and Layla. As Fandango made his entrance with Layla, the Shield was back again. They beat down Fandango, pulled him to the edge of the stage and gave him the triple powerbomb off of the stage through some tables. Believe in the Shield for saving me from another match from Fandango, Layla, Santino and Emma.

We go back to Raw to see the attack from Kane on Daniel Bryan.

Stephanie McMahon will be on Raw to apologize to Daniel Bryan.

The Shield (Ambrose, Rollins and Reigns) vs. Ryback, Alberto Del Rio, Damien Sandow, Bad News Barrett and Titus O'Neil
Rollins and Ryback to begin. A boot by Ryback and then gets a side headlock takedown. Rollins to his feet, off the ropes and a shoulder block By Ryback. Rollins fights back with the dropkick, and tags in Reigns. Rights and kicks to Ryback, tags in Ambrose and some crazy fists for Ryback. Back to the Shield's corner, they brat down Ryback. Rollins off the top, caught and slammed down by Ryback. Tag to O'Neil, slam to Rollins. Misses an elbow drop, chops by Rollins and a tag to Ambrose. Cravat and knees by Ambrose to O'Neil. Tag to Reigns and the Shield keeping control in their corner. A clothesline by Reigns and a cover gets 2. Back to the corner, tag by Ambrose and kicks to the gut of O'Neil. O'Neil rushes Ambrose to his corner, Barrett tags in and tries a suplex, countered and Rollins now tags in and they double suplex Barrett. It breaks down and the Shield clears the ring as we head to commercial…

~COMMERCIAL BREAK~
We're back from commercial as Barrett is working over Ambrose with a side headlock. Ambrose works to his feet, rights to escape, but as he tries to fight to his corner, he eats a bog boot. Del Rio tags in, snap mare and basement dropkick by Del Rio gets 2. Del Rio grounds Ambrose with a headlock. Ambrose again fights to his feet, escapes, to the corner and Del Rio hits the run up Enziguri for 2. Del Rio tosses Ambrose to the floor and Ryback attacks. Del Rio then rolls Ambrose back in and tags Ryback in. Ryback with a slam, splash off the ropes and a cover gets 2. Ryback with a Chinlock, trying to wear down Ambrose more. Ambrose fights to his feet and slams Ryback to the corner to escape. Ryback is able to hit a spinebuster, and Rollins makes the save. Ryback tosses him to the floor, but then misses a charge. Del Rio in, and Ambrose sidesteps and sends him to the floor. Reigns and Sandow tag in, and Reigns starts to run wild on everyone! The numbers get to Reigns, and then it breaks down. Reigns tosses Ryback and O'Neil, and Ambrose and Rollins follow to beat them down on the floor. Reigns dropkick to Sandown on the apron. Barrett and Del Rio bailed on their team, because they are smart. Rollins Ambrose hit dives onto the heels, as Reigns chased down and beat down Barrett and Del Rio. Back to the ring they go, and then after an Ambrose dropkick, Reigns hits the spear on Sandow for the victory.

After the match, Reigns hit spears on both O'Neil and Ryback. The Shield then hit the triple powerbomb on Ryback and stood tall to end the show.
