Was Chris Hero/Kassius Ohno's Release Planned?

Chris Hero's release from the WWE was not a sudden decision and was planned for some time. As Kassius Ohno, Hero still has a few matches with the company to air on NXT. He will appear on November 20 and 27 against Tyler Breeze and on December 11 against Alexander Rusev.
