According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason WWE waited so long to release Neville from his contract is because WWE didn’t want to set a precedent where guys under contract can walk out and go to New Japan, which is where it was expected he was headed. Neville’s contract was frozen for 10-months prior to his recent release. He reportedly has no non-compete clause and can work anywhere.
Opinionated View- So they are really petty. Because if they had some reason they could always cut him at any time! Now at this stage they are in hoard talent mode. So I bet they were doing all they could to convince him to come back.
