According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason WWE waited so long to release Neville from his contract is because WWE didn’t want to set a precedent where guys under contract can walk out and go to New Japan, which is where it was expected he was headed. Neville’s contract was frozen for 10-months prior to his recent release. He reportedly has no non-compete clause and can work anywhere.
Opinionated View- So they are really petty. Because if they had some reason they could always cut him at any time! Now at this stage they are in hoard talent mode. So I bet they were doing all they could to convince him to come back.

* ROH TV Championship Match: Champion Punishment Martinez vs. Chris Sabin
* ROH Tag Team Championship Match: Champions The Briscoes vs. The Addiction
* ROH Championship Match: Champion Jay Lethal vs. Will Ospreay
Opinionated View- This is a PPV? I mean this a pretty weak card.I get Liger is a legend but at this stage beating him really doesn't do anything for Kenny. The stable vs. stable match should be just because you have so much talent in one match. Hopefully Dashwood wins quickly and they do the stupid "Have her chase for a while." Sabin looked okay lately but Martinez should win. Pass on Briscoes and Addictions. Ospreay is great but Lethal is just so boring. Plus from what can tell Ospreay isn't going to appear before this.

Jeff Jarrett & GFE Denied Expedited Discovery In GFW Master Tapes Lawsuit
Yesterday, Jeff Jarrett and Global Wrestling Entertainment were seeking an order from the United States District Court of Tennessee regarding the Global Force Wrestling master copies, requesting an expedited discovery regarding the masters while also requesting ruling requiring Impact Wrestling’s parent company Anthem Sports & Entertainment to allow them access to the masters so they can be copied as Jarrett’s side has filed a copyright on each hour of footage. According to Pwinsider.com, the court denied that order, ruling that it has not even been confirmed that Anthem has even been officially served with the lawsuit. The site adds that the motion wasn’t even sent to Anthem’s attorney, but a registered agent for Anthem. The court noted that even if they ruled in Jarrett’s favor, they would have no idea who to send the order to, since there are not attorneys attached to the Anthem side. The court also ruled that the original motion featured no “memorandum of law” attached that would prove GFE and Jarrett’s arguments.

The Latest Updates on Jeff Jarrett’s Lawsuit Against Anthem Sports
It was reported back on August 14th that Jeff Jarrett and his company, Global Force Entertainment LLC filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Impact Wrestling owner Anthem Sports & Entertainment in the United States District Court of Tennessee.
According to Pwinsider.com, Jeff Jarrett’s side filed a motion (on August 24th) with the United States District Court of Tennessee regarding the Global Force Wrestling master copies, requesting an expedited discovery where each side gets to request information of the other side through request for answers to interrogatories, request for documents, etc. regarding the masters while also requesting ruling requiring Anthem to allow them access to the masters so they can be copied as Jarrett’s side has filed a copyright on each hour of the 16 hours worth of footage.
Basically, GFW needs copies of the tapes to file copyrights on the Amped! content. The motion also notes that as of the 24th that neither Anthem nor their attorneys have responded to a letter sent on 8/10 (the same day the Jarrett/GWE vs. Anthem lawsuit was filed) requesting they “voluntarily produce the masters of the episodes for inspection and copying”, which is why they are now asking the court to intervene.

Report: Neville no longer under contract with WWE after “walking out” last October
Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Neville is reportedly no longer under contract with WWE according to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet.
The report, which didn’t cite specific details, noted that a “source with direct knowledge of the situation” confirmed he is no longer tied to a WWE deal.
Neville has been off WWE television since last October and has not wrestled at any live events ever since. He did not comment publicly about his departure from WWE.
A report by F4WOnline claims WWE was in negotiations with Neville earlier this year, but they stalled and it appeared they opted to freeze his deal or negotiate a release.
Paul “Triple H” Levesque was asked about Neville and his current status with the company during an NXT conference call with media last week. Triple H said he wasn’t “100% positive” about Neville’s current status with the company and added he would have to look into that. He did add that Neville would be a perfect fit with the current goals of the NXT UK brand and put over his past work in 205 Live.

Rumored Reason Why Kurt Angle Was Taken Off TV
According to Joe Peisich from Barnburner’s Fired Up podcast (via sportskeeda.com), the rumored reason that Kurt Angle was replaced as Raw GM on Monday and “sent on Vacation” is because Angle is going home to train for an in ring return, and is expected to return as a wrestler full-time in October. He may compete at the upcoming WWE Super Show-Down, in Melbourne, Australia.
Opinionated View- I pray that's not true. In all his WWE matches since coming back Kurt hasn't looked good. Plus he's almost 50 with a history of neck problem just sounds like its a disaster waiting to happen

Erick Rowan suffers injury during Smackdown Tag Team Title match at SummerSlam
Erick Rowan, one half of the current Smackdown Tag Team Champions along with Luke Harper as The Bludgeon Brothers, suffered an arm injury at Sunday’s SummerSlam PPV.
The injury, first reported by PWInsider, was initially cited as an arm injury. The injury kept Rowan out of the ring at last night’s WWE live event in Atlantic City.
F4WOnline is reporting today that Rowan suffered a torn biceps injury in one of his arms, meaning he could be missing some significant time from the ring if it turns out to be a full tear. A partial tear usually requires three to six weeks of recovery.
WWE is still advertising The Bludgeon Brothers defending the Smackdown Tag Team Championships against The New Day later tonight on Smackdown Live, the last show from Brooklyn after TakeOver, SummerSlam and RAW took place in the same building.

Jeff Jarrett and GFW/GFE file lawsuit against Impact Wrestling owner Anthem over trademarks
Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Entertainment LLC (Global Force Wrestling) have filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Anthem Sports & Entertainment (the owners of Impact Wrestling) in the United States District Court of Tennessee.
The 26-page lawsuit, which was filed on August 10, alleges that Anthem has violated state and federal trademark infringements in relation to Global Force Entertainment, violated Jeff Jarrett’s exclusive property rights to his name/photograph/likeness and that Anthem used a “reproduction counterfeit, copy, or colorable imitation of the GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING and GFW trademarks” promoting false advertising.
PWInsider provided additional details on the lawsuit including:
* Jarrett and GFW claiming violation of the Lanham Act citing “acts of unfair competition” that were done to “deceive the public into believing that goods and services offered or sold by Defendants are made by, approved by, sponsored by, or affiliated with GFE.”
* Claims that Anthem was involved in “Unfair Competition in Violation of Tennessee Common Law”, violated the Tennessee Consumer Protection Act and continue to “compete for a common pool of customers” using the GFE likeness.
* “Defendants have violated and, upon information and belief, continue to violate GFE’s exclusive rights in the GFW Amped content and the 16 associated copyrights, including, but not limited to, the right to reproduce, right to prepare and sell derivative works, and right to vend by copying, publishing, distributing, and publicly displaying in the marketplace in this District, and in all marketplaces reached by the Internet, videos that were copied or otherwise derived from the GFW Amped content.”
The lawsuit also focuses on Anthem approaching Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling in October 2016 to begin discussions about a merger “in exchange for membership and equity in Anthem Sports” that would have included hiring Jarrett as Chief Creative Officer. A non-disclosure agreement was signed between both parties on December 9, 2016.
In January 2017, Jarrett signed a consultant agreement with Anthem and provided Anthem with “16 one-hour episodes of GFW Amped content to Defendants”, which the lawsuit claims still have the only copy of the masters. In May of 2017, Jarrett signed a deal with Anthem to become the official Chief Creative Officer of Anthem Wrestling.
The lawsuit notes that at this point in the agreement, Jarrett agreed to the terms of a merger between Anthem Wrestling and GFW (something publicly announced by Anthem). When Jarrett took a leave of absence from Impact Wrestling in September 2017, he was let go by Anthem. Jarrett alleges when he was terminated by Anthem, the merger between GFW and Anthem never went through and that despite Anthem’s acknowledgement of ownership of the GFW Amped content, no royalties or compensation was given to Jarrett.
Anthem promoting several PPV events under the GFW Amped name was specifically pointed out in the 26-page lawsuit, noting that they aired from July 2017 through December 2017. The lawsuit states that Anthem continues to “monetize the GFW Amped content as pay-per-view, premium television, streaming, and other viewing options on a worldwide scale”, specifically mentioning the new Global Wrestling Network streaming service. The lawsuit claims Anthem does not own a license to use GFW Amped content or trademarks.
Jarrett and GFE are seeking “an award of punitive and/or treble damages for at least three times the amount of Defendants’ profits or GFE’s damages, whichever is greater, due to the nature of Defendants’ wanton and willful conduct.”
They are also seeking an injunction that would prevent Anthem from copying, distributing, offering for sale, selling or displaying GFW Amped content. If issued, it would prevent Anthem from using the Global Wrestling Network name or any GFW likeness.
Opinionated View- Jeff I want to like you but man you come off bitter here. Also I say some "This will end Global Wrestling Network" no it won't they will just change the name to something like Impact Wrestling Network

* Zero Hour Pre-Show Match on WGN America: Over Budget Battle Royal For a Shot at The ROH Title
* Zero Hour Pre-Show Match on WGN America: The Briscoes vs. Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky
* Adam Page vs. Joey Janela
* Tessa Blanchard vs. Madison Rayne vs. Chelsea Green vs. Britt Baker
* Stephen Amell vs. Christopher Daniels
* Kazuchika Okada vs. Marty Scurll
* ROH Title Match: Champion Jay Lethal vs. The Winner of The Over Budget Battle Royal
* Kenny Omega vs. Pentagon
* NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match: Champion Nick Aldis vs. Cody Rhodes
* Rey Mysterio, Bandido, and Fenix vs. The Young Bucks and Kota Ibushi
Opinionated View- Okay the pre show looks rough I mean battle royals are very hit and miss. And any time the Briscoes show up it's a bad thing and well it's not like Kaz and Sky are top guys that can carry them anymore. But the PPV it's self looks great. Page is coming off a great G1 and Janela is a strong talent. The women's 4 way is loaded with talent. Amell and Daniels is a risk. Now Amell has looked great in the two previous matches he's had but those were tag matches. And you wonder what Daniels can do.
Okada and Scrull is different but Marty usually works well with anyone. ROH match will depend on who wins the battle royal because Jay is well a let down pretty much since leaving the than TNA. Omega and Pentagon should be amazing. NWA title match should be really good but its more about Hey Aldis and Cody is different instead of caring about the NWA title. Six man should be crazy

WWE officially announces Smackdown 1000 for October 16 live from Washington, DC
WWE has confirmed the date and location for the 1000th episode of Smackdown.
The show, airing in its usual Tuesday night time slot on the USA Network at 8:00 p.m. ET (7:00 CT), will take place on October 16 and air live from Washington, DC.
Tickets go on sale this Friday (August 17) at the Capital One Arena box office or online via Ticketmaster. You can also call 1-800-745-3000.
Smackdown first debuted back in 1999 on the UPN broadcast network. Despite Monday Night RAW being considered the “flagship” show, Smackdown would often draw larger audiences on broadcast television during that run.

In October of 2010, Smackdown officially moved to cable premiering on the SyFy network airing on Friday night. In January of 2016, the show moved to the USA Network, merging both RAW and Smackdown on the same network.
Not long later, the show was moved to Tuesday night and began airing live every week on the USA Network. As reported on in the last few months, Smackdown will officially move back to broadcast on the FOX network next October. It was also announced the show will be returning to its old Friday time slot and will continue to air live.
