Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (via Wrestling Inc) recently said that Tyler Bate’s losses in WWE are due to backstage heat he has with company officials. The heat reportedly goes back to just before Bate lost the WWE UK title to Pete Dunne at NXT Takeover: Chicago in May of last year.
WWE wanted to book Bate on a main roster tour, but he couldn’t do it. WWE reportedly called Bate late for the bookings and he had already made other plans. He worked NXT live events last year and returned to WWE TV with losses to Roderick Strong on last week’s NXT and TJP on last week’s 205 Live. He also worked the NXT TV tapings on Friday in Atlanta in a match with The Velveteen Dream. He wrote on Twitter after his losses:
@WWE205Live last night, lost. @WWENXT tonight, another loss. Thinking I need to fix up a bit.— Tyler Bate (@Tyler_Bate) February 1, 2018
